before i purchase this i want to make sure this is a good unit http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NESU4M/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1T9TP61K1PW0C anyone have one? looks solid

To be honest, you're better off with two D-link DUB-H7.  That is $50 total, and you will end up with 12 usable ports instead of 10 for less money.

http://www.amazon.com/D-Link-Hi-Speed-7-Port-Powered-DUB-H7/dp/B00008VFAF

hey thanks alot i appreciate the advice your right i'll just order two of those

yea anker was my first choice but they seem to be sold out on amazon  Undecided

It's probably our fault they are sold out. i think we blind sided them. Tongue

it is more than just sold out. I have contacted Anker directly regarding their 10 ports hub and I have been told that this model was discontinued....

I ended up buying Orico hubs from alibaba website....

Yep, their new product is the 9+1 hub. It's also in the table in the OP.

Yep, their new product is the 9+1 hub. It's also in the table in the OP.

FYI, Anker 9+1 is not exactly out of stock on Amazon.

If you see the note on their official website, they say they are having some technical difficulties with Amazon and hence the product has been taken down.

Supplier of "TeckNet® USB 3.0" 10 Port Hub (BlueByte Limited - currently shipping only to UK) sent me a mail:

Quote
Dear Customers:

Thanks for your email. We are sorry that we are currently not delivery the item to Germany. Please come back two weeks later. We will send our stock to Amazon fulfilled centre where EU shipping will be available.

Regards
BlueByte Limited

Nevertheless these USB mining sticks are still too expensive, even with the latest price drop. Do some calculations before you spend your hard mined coins to tons of them:

Noitev,

thanks for sharing. if BE keeps getting cheaper, we all need these.

BTW, very funny slogan:

Big MondoHub

"28-Ports: if you need any more, you scare me"

:-)

I guess they would be shit scared if they were visiting the forum!

Crap, My longish post got lost. I guess I'll make this one quick.
Noitev I'd cancel your order, That hub has been reviewed before and it can only handle 8-9 BE's and is a pain to properly cool.

Device Name: AITech USB 3.0
Ports Total: 10
Ports Usable: 8
Power from AC: 12v @ 4A
Price USD: 60.99(Black)
Price / Usable Port: 7.62
Sold at:  http://www.amazon.com/Aitech-Adapter-backward-Compatible-aluminum/dp/B009NESU4M

Bought one of these to try, and it works fine with 8+arctic fan (Stable for more than 48hours).
I tried it with 9, and it ran for a while, but ever so often, I'd come back and the light would be on for one of the BErupters.  Occassionally, while stopping and starting mining software, the light would just flicker with 9.  So, I don't recommend 9 as it's unstable.

I almost wish there was a column in the table for RPi compatibillity.  I'm looking for a good 7 or 10 port hub for Raspbian or MiningPeon (Have both on separate cards, but no compatible hubs!)  :S

When I find RaspberryPi compatible hubs, I'll likely be looking to part with this, and a couple of the 9port Anker's.

Yes, MondoHub negatively reviewed here by CanaryInTheMine and I have a link to it from a footnote in the OP table.

Also, I've added Juiced 13-porter, which was discussed on page 8, to the table in the OP.

@sephtin, I've added your reviewed hub to the table, thanks.

Is there a limit to the number of USB devices in Ubuntu?

Running 12.04.

2 of the 10 port anker hubs (20 miners)  works beautifully.

Tried to add a 3rd anker (new 9 port anker)  and suddenly devices start to go missing and I can never get them all to recognize.

Any tips or tricks? Hardware or software limitation?

Edit: BTW,  this is on a Zotac Zebox... A little Intel atom based mini pc designed for use as an HTpc, so I guess it's possible the motherboard just sucks.

FYI, I got 5 of the SiPolar-esques in recently. I still have to try it, but all 20 ports at least boot up fine on my model (haven't plugged it into a PC quite yet).

Mine got that far too, now try some mining, and watch the fun Sad   For me it was neither Bitminter, nor CGMiner that could make this work.  (I hadn't switched over to BFGMiner yet)  On one hand, I wish I got a bad one, because the spacing on this is perfect for the usb sticks, I would gladly get another 1 or two, but as of now, having been burned, I don;t see myself risking another $100 on it.

That reminds me, I should try it with bfgminer as well tonight when I get home.

Orico hasn't been reviewed by anyone yet. Tell us how it goes.  Cheesy

Actually, as someone mentioned, it would be cheaper buying 2 D-Link DUB-7 hubs for a total of 12 usable ports.

24 port monster hub is listed on OP as 5v 5a but i bought one from amazon and it says 5v 4a. it seems to be a monoprice/bynovel brand and on monoprice and amazon you can see the pic of the adapter says 5v 4a. can you confirm some of these are 5a and if so where specifically did you buy it from?

Does anyone have a photo of this in action, and know if it can comfortably host/fit 13 Erupter USB's ?

Have a bunch more sticks coming in and looking to get something other than the Ankers this next round.

As a side note, cgminer 3.3.1 has a bug inside the icarus driver that makes cgminer crash when there are communication errors with the BEs.

Since 3.3.1 release, the bug has been fixed and in the meantime the next version get released, you can compile the git version.

I still have the communication errors occasionally but the git version eventually recuperate from these. I got my BE rig running non stop since last sunday.
