There is no assurance that bitcoin will remain in the number 1 spot.
It's us who made it number 1 so I think it's also us who can detrone that, if that will happen it's not only ETH will take the chance

If the mean is on the price, I think its hard ethereum can overtake bitcoin price. But if thats mean on market cap, Anything can happen in 5 years because ethereum have more supply than bitcoin. Beside that, ethereum gain popularity recently because used by many ICOs
