People selling AM to buy cheap ActM and LC Tongue
not today

AM will see 2.8-3.0BTC before it see's 4.0BTC again

that may be true, but people see AM at 3 as undervalued, and jump on those prices quickly.

There's certainly a correlation between Labcoin and AM right now.  Every time LC drops below .0023, AM goes up, and when AM goes below 3.5, LC goes down.

So, I think it's safe to say that some traders are moving coins between the securities.  It's not a one way street, as you can see right now, when AM is low, LC drops and sell orders get filled for AM.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

They will: Produce, Mine, Sell, full package!
Nobody is going to buy 130nm chips when there will be multiple companies at 28nm, ASICMINER producing 65nm, etc. I think the best you can hope for is mining with the chips at cost, or of course short term speculation which has been very profitable for me.

People buy whatever is cheapest for the hash rate.

Wrong.. you should know better.  Look at asicminer USBs.  In the individual hobbyist market, you can mark things up very nicely to the point where ROI doesn't mean shit.

Most of the people who bought those only bought it to resell it.  Do you know anyone mining with them?

Absolutely.  There's always someone at the very end of the chain.  I can guarantee you they aren't just sitting around.  Smiley

That's not the point at all. Of course they can scam you a million ways, shareholders get screwed all the time. The point is it does not hurt to have information on what you are investing in, and knowing if you have actual ownership in a company is something good to know, especiialy if the company is legit.

JB asked simple questions which morons replied too with a wrong answer, and told him to pretty much stfu. WTF?? And it was a valid question which I've had on many other topics also. It's the craziest thing I've seen, these idiots giving answers, and the guy hasn't even been to LabCoins info page on BTCT.CO and he acts like he knows everything.

I'm off to lurking again, it's just a sad state how people act to normal human beings who did nothing wrong against them, by simply asking simple valid questions and getting lynched for it.

I agree that guy was also a dumbass.  However, that doesn't mean JB wasn't also a dumbass.

The Avalon chips were nothing but a bad investment, that is all you can call them. ActM, and thus their shareholders, have payed more money on them than they will get out of them.
Calling getting the Avalons a "stepping stone" is really kind of delusional. All that should be important is the development of their own ASICs.
Hindsight is always 20/20. They would have been very profitable had there not been this unforeseen delay on top of the previous delays. They were purchased when ActM was far smaller (the stock is now worth 10x more) and people were not confident enough to invest $1M to fund the 28nm NRE (at that point people were still calling it a scam).

All this business with creating Avalon clones is just wasted time and effort that could go towards getting their real business going.
They hired an engineering firm to build the Avalon clones; there is no reason to think they cannot do multiple things at once. Without the chips they ordered, there isn't much to distract them from proceeding with eASIC.

They are not being manufactured. Have they even started to develop them, at all? I'm seriously asking, because all I could understand was that eASIC is supposed to eventually start developing them, but nothing like that seems to even have started.
They're under an NDA which was confirmed by eASIC representatives. The deal has likely been finalized already or will be finalized within the next week (it looks like Ken is preparing statements for a press release...) and they will tape out within 4 weeks and begin production at the same time.

I've asked several times about NRE payment in ActM's thread, get answered that Ken can't say about it because of NDA, is it logic? I've sold all my holding in ActM since then.
Yes it is logical because they already "got their hand slapped" (as Ken put it) for discussing the NRE too much and people were emailing eASIC for iniformation. Do you even know what an NDA is?? Non-Disclosure Agreement means that they cannot talk about their business with eASIC until the NDA ends (presumably when the deal is finalized).

It also fascinates me how you fixate so heavily on ActM and disparage it to make yourself feel better about investing in outdated 130nm tech, when there are four companies producing 28nm chips and HashFast is already doing a "mock tape-out". Feel free to ignore your competitors if it makes you feel good, but don't come crying when you lose money on your investment.

Oh, they said so? I must have missed that then. Could you give me a source for the information that production of 28nm will start within 4 weeks? I find it very hard to believe.

I'm invested in ActM too, but I took out a lot of my investment because of my belief that LC is in a way stronger position atm. Either way, if one of them succeeds, I win.
And I don't "fixate heavily on ActM", and I certainly don't disparage it to make myself feel better.. jesus.. I try to analyze this stuff to make the best investment decision I can, and when I post here, all I do is state my opinion.
The reason I was talking about ActM is that they're the only direct competitor to LC that I can invest in. I talk about ActM because when thinking about what to invest in here, it's LC or ActM.
I can't invest in HashFast (or was it FastHash?). I hope you're not suggesting I consider the icedrill stock.

We need another public competitor in the hash rate race. Both will most likely fail miserably but if they succeed...

Allow me to clarify: tape out should occur 4 weeks after the NRE payment (whenever that was or will be) based on eASIC's fast turnaround time (2 weeks to design, then 2 weeks to reach tapeout... I would show you a source but the threads are so difficult to dig through).

It also fascinates me how you fixate so heavily on ActM and disparage it to make yourself feel better about investing in outdated 130nm tech, when there are four companies producing 28nm chips and HashFast is already doing a "mock tape-out". That part was not in response to you. I'm sure you will do fine with your investments, but I am not so sure about "yuansuyi".

If ActiveMining doesn't tape out until late September, they won't have their chips till when, January?

Thanks for your concern. I brought at 0.0025 IPO price, 2x profit is good enough to me.
As a note , your cheerleader Vbs said eASIC don't need tape out.
The “two weeks to design, two weeks to tape out" seems come out from my mouth when I talked about the NRE issue in ActM's thread. I just took it as example to show that ActM's chip will only be ready to Fab in late Sept, even if NRE paid now. Sorry if I misleaded you.

theyre taping out right away.  Joint news release with easic and activemining expected by monday.  My advice: invest in labcoin and activemining.  They will both be big players.

VE, your information is so bad that Ken Slaughter showed up in another thread to prove you wrong. He barely shows up in his own thread! Grin
