I definitely think it's possible, so many ERC20 tokens currently in Top 100 based on Market Cap.

I hope it does. Even now i am hoping really high that eth can catch up with btc. The implications this will have cannot be underestimated. First, it will provide investors the opportunity to have a broder perspective to investments in alt coins; them tilting a little further away from too much attention on btc. Second; eth catching up with btc will afford so many alt coins the chance to further have the courage to show to the world the good they can offer up to humanity. Third; eth appreciation to the level of btc will further put a reassurance into the minds of investors in different cryptocurrencies of the possibility of a huge boom of any alt coin they might be holding at any point in time. My simple take thou.

I think no...btc is the engine of all altcoins when btc rise 25% eth will rise 20%

Yes I do understand that ETH cannot reach the value of bitcoin at the moment but in future I am sure it can achieve it because nowadays people are looking for the crypto competency which gives them more feature and benefit instead of checking which was the first crypto currency there are many altcoins cooking up with some excellent feature which bitcoin still lacks hence I feel that ETH can reach the level of bitcoin

Everything is possible in cryptocurrency but this thing will never happen. Yes ETH is a good coin though a lot of scam accusation but I still believe bitcoin will remain on top no matter what happen and it will continue to rise in the coming years.

I love bitcoin, but I honestly think it is on it's last legs in 2018.
Kind of unbelievable seeing as how the price has skyrocketed, but that is one of the main reasons.

Another main reason is that BTC is just plain old.
The tech behind it is a whopping 10 years old!
How many of you are using a computer that is 10 years old?
Blockchain tech is amazing, but this past year has shown that the community can not come together on how to fix the tech.
So we ended up with a bunch of contentious forks and forks that no one wanted.
The result? BTC has made virtually no progress in development and we are stuck with $20 transaction fees.

I believe if ETH can solve it's own scalability issues, then it will overtake BTC.
In fact, in 2018, coins that can scale well, have quicker transactions and lower fees will start to dominate.

I think it won't unless btc disappears or dies. ETH can only be 1 to 2 step away from btc but won't match btc's price because bitcoin has been into cryptocurrency longer than any ICO's/coins so it will always be below it. That is just my own opinion about this topic.

Ethereum will probably never catch bitcoin. Ethereum is a totally different coin with different uses. It will pass $1000 next year but it’s too far from bitcoin ‘s value.

Just wondering if ETH can

Ethereum has maybe the best potential to reach the bitcoin's price or to be a real competitor of bitcoin. But on the other hand, the situation is doesn't seem like that for now. Although bitcoin have bad times in these days, the price difference between this two is still incredibly much.

This is a very unpredictable world and anything can happen in seconds. Tho that doesn’t mean bitcoin is easy to catch. It’s a very low chance but not zero.

Of course no. They have different value in the market. People invest in ETH because they believe in Smart contract. Otherwise, Peole invest in Bitcoin because they just want earn money.

There is a possibility it will reach bitcoin value but it cannot overtake bitcoin. Though there is a small possibility for eth to reqch bitocin's value, it will take great effort and i believe, quite a long time, for it to be achieved. Considering the eth's progress and its use in icos, there is a slight chance but then again, everything in the crypto community is uncertain.

I think not, there a lot more investor that invest in BTC than ETH but maybe for 5 to 10 years ETH can reach as of now value of BTC but cannot overrun the BTC.

Interesting idea.
I will think about it.
If the interest in the BTC is only speculative, then "non-professional investors" need to stay away from it.
Professional market players will always outplay them.

It's possible that eth can reach the btc value and maybe some coins with high market cap can reach also the price of btc now we can't control the market.

Yes, It totally passes over the Bitcoin price. Because ERC20 is one of the best platforms for altcoins growth. So, in long term, if Bitcoin cant improve its weaknesses, ETH will reach its price.
