Bitcoin and Ethereum are two different creations. They do not focus on the same market applications or services. Both are way apart in terms of the purpose they were created for. Bitcoin primary goal is to serve as a decentralized currency while Ethereum is meant to provide a platform for dapps and smart contracts.
Ethereum price will always be somehow affected by those ICOs that use it and their performance. In contrast, Bitcoin price is only affected by Bitcoin itself (excluding external factors such as bans, regulations etc).
As per my understanding of the market, both have their place in the cryptocurrency world and are in no way in competition with each other.

Yes ethereum will reach the value of bitcoin but for that ethereum need time, may be within coming 10 years ethereum will reach the target but for that ethereum needs public and government support.

Everything can happen. Eth can reach the BTC price. But the time may be ten years later. BTC can be replaced by eth. Eth support BTC. Both are different. ETH has it's own fan, token holders and ICO developers. BTC is for Crazy bag holders. |

I think no one can reach btc for now ,seeing it as the strongest and stable coin in cryptocurrency.Ethereum will always be next to bitcoin and I know for sure btc has a great value than any other coins.Theres is a possibility but I think it takes years or decades before it happens.And I think eth has a good growth and increase for this year but it always takes second choice to btc.

In my opinion, it cannot reach the BTC value, ETH is a rival of BTC but i think it cant manage to rise as much as BTC. So far there are around 60 active cryptocurrency exchanges. This number is growing every single month as digital assets become more and more attractive. Ether will likely see a lot of new money flowing in, and more investors getting involved in token sales, but for me it cant reach the value of BTC.

According to coinmarketcap.com, the market cap of Ethereum is about 50% of Bitcoion's,
So yes, it is very possible that ETH will surpass BTC in terms of marketcap.

I think that someday this will be possible. I like that the Ethereum - useful coin. Much more useful than Bitcoin. At the moment 90% of the bounty depend on Ethereum. And there is no tendency to change. We must remember that bitcoin will soon cease to produce. It can become even more expensive. But maybe will get cheaper. |

Yes indeed ethreum will reach bitcoin value and it has been following the footprint of bitcoin in terms of pump and the pattern of growth but we should not forget it still has long way to go as bitcoin will also increase by leap and bounce so I think only time will decide as it's up to the user whom they prefer whether bitcoin or ethreum |

these two coins are like Father and Mother, where they can do hardfork then the price goes up and the volume of transactions also increases
considering the BTC pair more than ETH, then, it is certain BTC will continue to be ranked first

I suspect that Ethereum will slowly fade away. Even though I like many of it's ideas in theory, they just don't seem work very well. A Kitten game can make the whole "world computer" stuck. I'm not a programmer however, so I don't have a very deep insight, if it's possible that the problems can be fixed easily. I hope for the best of course.

if the bitcoin's price will keeps on decreasing and ETH keeps on increasing for the next two years,it might be but then again since bitcoin is the father of the cryptocurrency and the number of the people that still supports this coin,the ethereum will never stand a chance.

I truly believe that it can reach bitcoin's value because of 3 factors. First is that it's mostly second to bitcoin. Secondly, it's way faster than bitcoin and thirdly, it's fees are lower than bitcoin. |

With the rise of ethereum at the start of the year, I can safely say that it will reach the price of bitcoin last year, which is roughly aroung 2-4 thousand dollars. The trend on the price of ethereum is pretty much easy to notice since it has been through the worst last year and making its way up again to redeem itself.

The circulation supply of ETH is 96,929,325 multiplied by 13,000 USD is equal to a market cap of 1,260,081,225,000 USD (one trillion, two hundred sixty billion, eighty-one million, two hundred twenty-five thousand USD). Ether would have a market cap twice the size of the whole current market. It can reach this value, but it takes a really long time and technological development.

it may happen but not in the near term. It took quite a long time for ethereum to equalize the value with bitcoin. From now we can invest in ethereum for the long term

It is more of a hypothetical question, I guess. One can argue it can reach BTC value and some can argue it will not reach even closer to BTC with their own reasons. I only can give my opinion. BTC and ETH have their own advantages and disadvantages. Nowadays lot of new SLT coins come with ERC20 compatibility, which means they want ETH as GAS. People use BTC as a fixed deposit to keep their capital safe. I think, ETH will rise higher with time, but whether it reaches BTC or not, we'll have to see.

Anything can be. But Vitalik needs to make a truly revolutionary product and a multifunctional and flexible. If this be useful and applicable then the Etherium will overtake Bitcoin.
