Hi guys, Great thread and amazing knowledge. So, I bought one of the ONDA B250 MoBos from Sidonia at Letine: https://leiqing.en.alibaba.com/product/60707942149-803390961/China_New_Top_Sell_Bitcoins_Mining_Motherboard_With_12_PCIE_Ports_B250_Chipset_Intel_Manufacturer.html?spm=a2700.icbuShop.89.3.36b10622hDun4LI recieved the board yesterday. It's not working. I used the same steps I used with many other motherboards. (NOTE: Except for the RAM, the components listed below work well on my Biostar B250 12 GPU motherboard.) Here are the steps: 1. I installed the following components: PSU: CORSAIR HXi Series HX1200i CPU: Intel Core I3-7100 Kaby Lake Dual-Core Processor Socket LGA 1151, 3.9GHz RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200 Model F4-2400C16S-4GRS) GPU: 1 x EVGA 1060 SC SDD: 120 Gb SDD with Windows 10 2. I attached the GPU to my monitor with an HDMI cable. 3. I booted the system. Nothing happened. The monitor was completely black. I mean there was no BIOS screen or anything to see. 4. I tried it with SMOS (Simple Mining Operating System). Again, It did not post. 5. I replaced the CPU with a G4400. It didn't solve the issue. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you resolve it? Thx, Howard Did you try the motherboard HDMI output? It might need this first boot then you can access bios to configure the gpu as primary video. So, I went to my nearest computer store and bought various RAM used by others through out this thread. The first one I tested solved the problem. It is: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Laptop Memory Model F4-2133C15S-8GRS Also the motherboard I have is a different version: ONDA B250 D8P-D4 It's been running for 2 hours now. I'm using 8 x EVGA 1060 SCC GPUs. They're too long for the first slot. So I have that one on a riser. The rig is in my basement. So no extra cooling has been added and temps are ranging from 55 - 70. The one on n the riser is running at 50 C. All in all, seems like a decent board.

Hi guys,
I recently bought 6 GTX 1080ti as follows: 2 Palit Jetstream 4 Palit Gamerock Premium Edition
The Gamerock editions are better cooled thanks to their dual fans (totally 4 fans). I'm using SMOS and I'm currently running with +50core, +300 mem and 225W for Gamerock and +150core, +500mem and 225W for Jetstream edition. Equihash gives me around 4350 sols, around 710-730 per gpu.
Those are my first 1080's. In your opinion over time, how is it? If I go to 200 or under 200W, sols are around 680-700 per gpu.
Thanks
All of the 1080 ti cards I have will do 700-720 hash/sec at 200 watts, +100 core +100 mem, using ebwf. Sample size is small though - 3 x Gigabyte Aorus (NOT the extreme), 1 x EVGA SC "black", 1 x Asus Turbo, 1 x Gigabyte "Windforce". Above 200 is where the "lower cooling capability" cards start noticeably losing hashrate vs the better cooled cards. 150 watts more or less seems to be the "best efficiency" point at 620 hash more-or-less for slightly better than 4.1 efficiency - and all of my cards show the SAME hashrate within measurement error range at 150 or at 175 watts. Mem clock setting probably varies depending on where the "stock" clocks are set at as to what works best. I've not done as much "ringing out" on fine tuning on my 1080 ti cards as on some of my other cards though - YET. yeah test with watts and keep the ram core steady Quint is correct that 200 plus and cards will fade my best cards are my msi water blocks I have 11 of these http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-gfx-gtx-1080-ti-liquid-cooled-graphics-cardand 1 of these https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-6598-KRin a magical world that always goes my way I would have a few hundred of them on racks like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIxWgv-rsuEsix to a rack same onda mobo using this psu http://www.corsair.com/en-us/ax1600i-digital-atx-power-supply-1600-watt-fully-modular-psu-naset them to 195 watts a card about 1250 watts a rig doing 4200 sols I would want a 2 acre solar array allowing about 60kwatt per hour of which I would run 30 rigs leaving overhead. for the home I owned ion the same land. the 30 rigs would pull 126,000 sols which nets to 750 usd a day . or 271k a year.

Question to the SMos users: how do you set back up pools ?
I run to nicehash. They have 99% up time. I do have other pools set but I would need to set manually. I do have a warning from nicehash if they go down. They had 10-15 minutes down time since they re opened. I don't sweat 15 minutes a month. Coins dropped to 7600 usd today on coinbase. I almost decided to buy 1.

One of my z220 sff came a very good Xeon CPU but 3 slots as you said.
It is really good for running moonlander usb sticks or sidehack 2 pac
Yeah once I installed the HP Z210, it's been rock stable. I expected problems due to their proprietary nature, but had to see if it would work for my purpose. I would say the only issues I had are the ones I've caused Those newer HP Z220 are quickly flooding into the used PC market, so I'm sure they'll be very cheap whenever these become old and unusable. Otherwise uptime has been very good for Windows. Very low maintenance, ever since I added automatic restart scripts on a 24 hour interval and watchdog scripts to restart and log automatically whenever it notices 0% GPU use or network disconnection. I take a little hit while it restarts though.

Care to share more about these scripts? I'd find that very helpful. Thanks!

Not accurate so I deleted it prices are based on gear price so for the antminer psu it costs more like 16-18 bucks not 4 Okay to be clear I deleted the post because it reads the warranty is only$4.15 When I check the link and the warranty price I got $16.00 I believe the warranty is based on price of gear. So it may have erred and not r0mi but as far as I can tell the 4 year warranty will cost about $16 not $4.

Yeah, Phil was right, my 4 year coverage for $4.51 including tax is no longer available (someone must have caught on pretty quick). But SquareTrade 3 year coverage for $2.44 is available as of right now. I've emailed Phil the links for verification. My own experience with SquareTrade via eBay, and YMMV, is that they do not require a return and they don't pursue the RMA route, they just pay out on the claim. So $2.44 seems like a no-brainer if you need the PSU anyways.

I got an email from Nicehash 4 hours ago stating that my account initiated a withdrawal.
I did not do it.
I did the Nicehash email password reset 4 hours ago, and have not received anything yet.
I also sent an email to support, but only a few min ago.
Has anyone done a Nicehash email password reset request? If so, how long to get a response?

Even more interesting, I have received two withdrawal emails that total far more than my balance, unless they are accessing my pre-December hack balance.
This should be an interesting conversation if Nicehash answers

So none of your hack dollars have been paid....
Interesting
I clicked the button yesterday to accept my 10%, but I did not check to see if I got anything, and right now, with no password reset email, I can't logon
My worst fault is procrastination, I had .1126 in BTC when they were hacked, so I am expecting .01126
The two withdrawal emails today were for .029 and .017, totaling .046xxx, much more than i would have in there as I NOW empty Nicehash daily, or every other day at most.
I have all computers shut now, have Malware bytes everything (only found the nicehash false alarms), and am doing the Windows update one by one. Since I work off of a 3g wireless modem, it takes hours for 1 machine.
Until I figure this out, I guess everything, including the Avalons, stay off. (can't mine when Windows updates eat the bandwidth anyway).

Hi, setting up my first rig and have a few questions. Has anybody successfully disabled the led on a gigabyte aorus 1080Ti in ubuntu 16.04? Tried Nvidia driver 384.111 and 390.25 I found these commands but neither work. nvidia-settings -a GPULogoBrightness=0 nvidia-settings --assign GPULogoBrightness=0
output: ** (nvidia-settings:6232): WARNING **: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service files and nvidia-settings -a [gpu:0]/GPULogoBrightness=0
output: ** (nvidia-settings:6236): WARNING **: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service files Attribute 'GPULogoBrightness' (Z270a:0[gpu:0]) assigned value 0. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is it ok to use one pcie cable (it has two 6+2 connectors) to connect the power? The gpu has needs two 8 pin connections. The card is a 1080Ti using 250w. On some forums people have had the cable melt and recommend using two separate cables for each 8 pin power connection. My seasonic psu only came with three pcie cables. So if the above is true, I have to keep one card offline until I can get another cable Have you guys had any problems with the cable melting on 1080Ti's at max power?

fact not opinion so to give you an answer is pointless since only crazy people want to mine at max power. Now do not feel bad as I have driven my Fia Forte from Howell NJ to Atlantic City at 105 miles per hour when I could safely set the cruise control at 65 miles per hour. and my answer is yes I have melted cables at high power settings. My advice set to 190-205 watts and no higher

Farm update. Been busy setting up my 2nd shoplot unit. This one originally supports 40A 3 phase but I had the electrician change all the wires to the source and it can do 100A 3 phase 240v, allowing a theoretical 72KW draw. This is the main rigs shelve. 54 rigs can be placed here. Assume 1.2KW each it will put me below 65KW power. I intend to use no more than 60KW though. 16000cfm air flow. Hot air from rigs directly go to the back of the unit to be exhausted. Absolutely no hot/cold air mixing. https://ibb.co/hzYAtxPower will be provided by 18x 32A circuits. I host for family and friends, originally had about 150x 1070ti coming but they all got cancelled. This unit is gonna be empty for a while lol. In the meantime, a petabyte HDD rig is being setup using the threadripper platform. https://ibb.co/g91DDx

Phil that is just not true. My power cost is ~$0.12 kwh and I have built spreadsheets in the past for every single algo and power %, and no matter what the out is always more money by running at 100% or higher power usage.

Phil that is just not true. My power cost is ~$0.12 kwh and I have built spreadsheets in the past for every single algo and power %, and no matter what the out is always more money by running at 100% or higher power usage. It's true that 100% power provides more profit in the short term, but it's better to look long term. Less stress on components = less part replacements and it's really important for anyone running at some scale. It's not wise to crank up the power and hire extra people to fix stuff. Large scale operations also have power limitations and 500 cards at 200w is better than 400 cards at 250w. For the casual miner sure, anything goes. I personally run my 1080tis at 70% PL. During periods of high profitability it's raised to 77%.
