There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Does anyone know if I can mine zetas with a BFL little single?  Is it just a matter of pointing cgminer to a zeta pool?

Sorry for not searching entire thread or just trying myself.  By design, my mining op is off site and a pain to get to.  Thanks!

Yes you can, I have my Single and Jalapeno mining ZET currently.

I use BFGMiner, btw.

Thanks adaryian , time to find a good zeta pool!

I have a 0% fee P2Pool open for public use, feel free to use it.

Traded around 5.5 LTC for 3000 or so Zetacoins today - probably terrible timing, but whatever. Now I'm completely out of BTC and LTC, maybe some news will encourage others to make the jump, these aren't good times for the better known cryptos, need some new coins to make a splash!

Looks like the zetacoin-qt.exe ignores the -datadir argument.  No matter what folder is provided, the data directory always defaults to the %AppData% folder.

If an invalid folder is provided the client will throw an error as expected, but if a valid folder is provided for the data directory argument, it is ignored.

Dev,

Can you investigate this issue?

Ref: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory

Has this datadir bug been fixed yet?  I'm having issues doing custom data directory for zetacoin here

I've also been having the same issue for the longest time.  It's not limited to Zetacoin.  All the coins that are based off the 0.8.99 source have the same problem.

Everybody is busy buying ZET  Smiley

I know that of course but.. Consider the fact that we have weekend. Fiat will not reach users bank accounts till monday. We have three times more Zeta miners. So they will sell what they mine, people will be out of their fiat2Btc resources so we could have a correction at last today or at sunday.

We can have a correction, it doesn't matter. Most people into ZET are long term players.

I know, me too. But I just want to buy more cheaply Cheesy

Few months ago I've been sharing some thoughts about ZET vs BTC.
I posted them here and also on reddit as "kedat":
http://www.reddit.com/r/zetacoin/comments/1t8ne4/what_is_special_about_zetacoin/

I still believe in complimentary role of ZET to BTC in monetary plane.
Look at "store of value" vs "medium of exchange" concept and how nicely they split these two attributes between each other.

Bitcointalk wasn't used very much! And since so many thought Zetacoin and their Community was dead... nobody wrote anything.
Now that the price is up, people come here....

What very few knew was, that we talked on ZBAD (nobs.is) daily...we designed, we made videos, we talked to companies and newspapers...
But It's okay, the fewer people really know what's going on behind the scenes the better.

Most Coins are Shitcoins
