there is a good future when we talk about alts it is better for you to hold some part and sell if the price for you is good enough , maybe it is better you sell 50% of your earnings and then the other 50 % this is for your saving purposes , but also you should be aware when price is concern you should know also the purpose of the coin if it will lead in the near future .

If you are holding platform coins, such as ETH, NEO, and ArcBlock you are definitely fine. If you are holding coins backed back a strong team and working product (ETHlend, Wabi), you can safely hold your altcoins. Otherwise, you should probably sell your altcoins and hold BTC instead.

You can sell some of your alts but NOT ALL of your altcoins dude. There are some altcoins that worth keeping until crypto goes maintstream in year 2021 and you just have to do some DYOR on your alts to know which one you'll gonna sell and which one you'll keep.
Just remember this very important keyword, DIVERSIFY!  Cool

I don't think it is good idea to sell all alts for BTC, because no one blockchain is perfect yet, and find a coin with the best possibilities is important.

I do think that btc might reach $20k soon or within this year, the price of bitcoin is starting to rise now. I think that if you believe in the coins that you've invested to, then there's no need to sell them and might as well hold them for the future. If you're having doubts on your altcoins, then you can also try trading it to bitcoin.

you had your reasons for holding altcoins till now, if your target has been achieved then you can sell and invest on BTC is its inline with your plans. BTC is surely on the rise but we cannot estimate how high it will go. im however for the opinion that you keep your investment diversified, hold both alts and BTC

It is not always the case the when bitcoin price, alts will go down. there are also the case of which relationship is direct and linear. Like if bitcoin price goes up, alts also go up. However, only a few of these alts exhibit that pattern. So if you really believe in your coin, that it has a clear development plan with strong community support and good products, then I suggest you hold on to it.
otherwise, trade it for something else.

putting stop limit is better i think. because it is probably very late whe you ask if you should sell or not. In such situations it is better to wait for market to reecover instead of selling everything. because if market suddenly recovers you would have to buy for more expensive.

Keep some alt the market cycles between btc and alts. It's easier for lower market cap coins to gain $ in price. Getting the correct alt can make much more money than waiting for btc to go 20k.
I totally agree with the fact that keeping money in good altcoins can give quite more profit than keeping money in bitcoin. Its hard for bitcoin to reach 20k$ currently but for some small value cryptos that are currently below 1$ with great use and potential can easily be 10X or more in coming future. Whereas 10X seems quite impossible for btc as of now. Hence, the investment must be kept if the alts are good or else shall be exchanged with bitcoin.

Good day,
Do you think that BTC is going to reach 20k soon?
If yes do I need to sell all alts and wait for rising BTC?
What to do now ? I am confused!!!!

You don't have to be confused. Actually, whether you are with Bitcoin or with altcoins, you are still going to make a considerable profit in the end if you continue to be steadfast and not sell when the market is red. Bitcoin is going back to $20,000 for sure. Perhaps it will come within March or April. But I am also expecting that the altcoins will be flying along with Bitcoin. But if you trust Bitcoin more regarding value growth then you may go ahead and make Bitcoin the big majority of your portfolio.

Why should sell altcoin? isn't if bitcoin's getting up altcoin will also follow the rise of the bitcoin. better focus on altcoin only because of the very large and potentially don't have only the bitcoin insistence on high value only.

But in my opinion we should not sell BTC at this time. Because BTC is popular and widely accepted in many countries. In the future BTC will replace cash so the BTC price will increase sharply in the future. Please hold and wait for the price increase.

Some of my alts are still in plus. Others fell and I definitely will not sell them. You did not lose anything until you sold it.

At the moment I think what to buy so much how many you can, it is the correct option and hold some time is the best. I can't even think of sale of my coins. So hold everything that you have.

It is recommended to invest in cryptocurrencies only the amounts that you can afford to lose. You have to hodl them. Just name few coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum , Siacoin, Monero, Doge.
it sucks not to be more vested in one as it rises, but look at what it is doing for acceptance of cryptocurrency as a value proposition! Consider yourself ahead of the curve. As bitcoin gains popularity and value, investors and merchants alike will begin to have more faith in the technology and it is at that point more and more will start to focus on what else is out there. Even though I hold more alts than bitcoin, this growth thrills me.

The question here is why did you invest in the altcoin you are holding! If you can not answer the why question you should hurry to an exchange and sell your altcoin. Buy bitcoin and keep your bitcoin for 5 years. Otherwise, you should be holding your altcoib
I agree to your statement. A person must always know about the altcoins he is investing in. key part for successful investment is to do research before investing in a particular cryptocurrency. The study of crypto, its use, its technology, its partnerships, its team, its vision and its backing everything should be taking into consideration. All these information makes you trust a coin.

So its wise to say, if you don’t know about the coin you are investing in, don’t invest and if you have don’t so, sell already and move to bitcoin instead.

Just because bitcoin goes up in value doesn't mean all altcoins will go down.  As of lately, it does seem like the majority of altcoins do lose some value when bitcoin rises but there are also some that goes up in value with bitcoin.  If you're holding good altcoins, you should not worry about what bitcoin does.
What I think is the focus is on what altcoin he holds, and whether he has carefully studied the technology and team behind the coin. Instead of simply thinking that bitcoin will go up, we sell all altcoins. I do not think bitcoin will change much in the short term. If altcoin is large, then if the price goes up, it will make a huge profit.
