The newbie must choose the most reliable TOP-20 exchange like Bittrex, Binance and Kukoin. They are the most popular and reliable exchanges atm. I know that currently it is difficult to register at Bittrex and Binance, but the last one makes registration available time by time. Start trading on Binance.

Depending upon your strategy, there are many exchanges and markets now, I like Gdax for Bitcoin trading, and then some of the other exchange like Bittrex and Poloniex for Altcoin trading - I like OKcoin for futures markets too. First choose what you want to trade and come back to us..

In my opinion, the best exchanges are: Bittrex, Polonix, Binance and Kucoin. But given that Bittrex and Binance closed the registration, it remains Polonix and Kucoin. They have a large assortment of trading pairs bitcoin-altcoyin. Pretty simple interface. And there are no special requirements.

Bestd exchange for me is binance, but i started in bittrex but it seems that bittrex is a little bit laggy and the support/announcements sucks, the tx fee is too damn high compare to binance which has the least transaction fees.

In 2016, most of the people love to use poloniex
In 2017, Bittrex is the best exchange for a newbie.
In 2018, I believe that binance is the most suitable exchange for new members cause they do not require a lot of information from you

Bittrex is becoming very popular, but they open the registration form temporarily. Binance has not very high fees - also good
I like cryptopia too, but it has ~0.001 BTC withdrawal cost.

When I was newbie I'd like Polonex for simplicity. But today I would choose Binance - huge trade pairs, simple UI, Expert UI, reflinks, BNB. It's my choice now

I was away from crypto for years and now I'm trying to get back into the game.  I was really STUNNED that there is no exchange, even after many years since bitcoin started, that we can just deposit USD and start exchanging altcoins.  I hope I'm wrong because this would be the single biggest hurdle for altcoins to be widely adopted by general public.  There are just too many hurdles to jump over just to START trading.
Coinmama will be easy to use. Here is a very simple to buy bitcoins and the support team quickly answers questions if you do not misunderstand something. It seems to me that for a beginner this will be the best option.

Almost all the exchangers work in the same system. But I think Hitbtc is the best exchanger for beginner, it's easy to use and safe, Security so good.
I used a few more exchanger as well.
   → Cryptopia
   → Binance
   → YoBit
   → Etherdelta

Etherdelta was a good one because they generally listed all of the ICO ERC20 tokens and then they changed their mind and they stopped acceptin new tokens in their system. I don't know why. Then it became a bit less attractive.

For me the best exchange is Bittrex. It's made simply and intellectually. There is a possibility to use stop los, easy currency search. Heard that the exchange plans to abandon USDT and open the pair to the dollar. About minuses. Some people have a problem with registration

For beginners, we must put direct them on a current reputable trading platforms.

Learning interface can be learned on the way as the principle is just the same.

HitBTC like any other platforms, are experiencing downsides recently (much more numbers) so I will not suggest this to a beginner. They didn't know the risks yet so better let's pinpoint them on much bigger exchange like Binance , Bittrex and Poloniex.

Crypto trading is risky, masternode mining is awesome, find a solid coin and HOLD!!!

I would definitely consider this coin, it has a niche market and had an amazing start!

Check out this new coin, already on exchange!  ROI looks very good!  Medical & Commercial Cryptocurrency with Masternode and Privacy!

That is a good summary, but I would say that for a beginner that does not want anything too sophisticated in terms of trading, cryptopia offers a no frills experience.

Found a nice article on news.bitcoin with the list of exchanges for beginners - https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-beginners-cryptocurrency-exchange-use/
As for me, not all of them are perfect for newbies but those like Coinbase and Binance really worth it. At my end I would also add cex.io to the list - it's not demanding at first tier and quite easy to use.
You can check their review here as well - http://cryptohoo.com/cex-io-review/

Coinbase is the best exchange for both beginners and advance traders. The security of funds is high ,and you can deposite and withdraw with fiat currency only if you get verified.
