Product is not powerful enough and too expensive for the projected shipping date.  Was hoping these guys would deliver but so far, fail all around.

There is a bullet point under logistics that says they will be shipping Oct 20-30 depending on order date - that leads me to believe these are not yet produced...

Yes.  They can't even setup there website to take orders, yet they're supposed to get 550 custom computing devices packaged and shipped in a couple days after their chips leave the fab without any problems.

As far as I know, KnC hasn't had any website problems, and they are going to have a lot more lead time between when their chips leave the fab and when orders are due.

I think the chip is real, but people should be very cautious about their ability handle assembly and shipping in a timely manner.

It looks like there are some shenanigans going on with the IceDrill IPO as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=269216.msg2899149#msg2899149.

you guys have been clamoring all morning about a rep from the company not showing his face.  well, he's here and you have no questions?

My question is when are you going to lower the price to $2000? No way that chip actually costs anywhere near $5,000 to produce, once NRE is funded. Batch 1/2 Avalon only cost $1,200-1,500, and your device is actually going to be less complicated, having only one chip instead of 240, and a single off-the-shelf waterblock instead of custom fabricated heatsinks.

I'm sure it costs more to put the boxes together in the US then China... but are they actually being assembled here? Are you outsourcing the production? To who?

They have the units in stock, just check their site. It does not mention pre-ordering anywhere.

Grin that explains the impressive pictures.

Hmm you might want to follow up on your customer support skills dude..

I asked what was wrong with the webpage (no answer so far except that its broken and sales are suspended).
I asked what shipping costs to Europe would be (no answer so far)
I asked (indirectly) how John is thinking to contact me and other ppl if we haven't been able to order.. (no answer)...

So I suggest you start behaving a little more professional towards your customers.

Also it's 8.41PM here.. There is more to the world than the USA. I did my math and I believe it's already 11.41AM in LA, hardly morning anymore on a weekday even..

Cheers,

1) The technology between the shopping cart and the processor had mutliple issues.
2) I will look into eurpoean shipping costs and get back to you. I agree that the amounts seem high. When we get this resolved we will refund the difference if we are able to secure chepaer rates.
3) This morning our team will be working through each and every email and each and every order.

Why do people make bets which close at the event.  Why would anyone bet now given that there will be a flood of bets seconds before the deadline when the outcome is no longer a gamble.

Thank you John for your response. Also while your at it, check how shipping costs will be when ordering multiple units. I can imagine it costs a few hundred bucks to ship to Europe but the shipment size shouldn't matter then anymore.

Also, the error I posted earlier has nothing to do with the processor. It's simply wordpress that's failing probably due to the plugin you use for the shopping cart combined with obviously shared hosting.

Hi everyone,

Again, I personally apologize for the difficulty many of you had in placing an order with us yesterday. The integration between BitPay and our shopping cart did not operate smoothly, and the sales volume overwhelmed it.

This is what we are doing to fix it:

 1) We have a record of everyone who attempted to make a purchase. We will individually contact those people to give each one the option of completing their purchase (and preserving their place in line for delivery of the earliest units, as per the timestamp in their order)

 2) Many of you have felt that the shipping costs were too high. We will find a better/cheaper solution, and refund the difference. It is absolutely not our intention to make a profit on shipping costs. If you have completed a transaction, and feel that the shipping costs were too high, please submit a ticket to support@hashfast.com.

 3) We are working hard to improve and test the new site and payment processing options. In the meantime, if you would like to make a purchase with us directly, you can email us at sales@hashfast.com. Please include your name, address and a phone number where we can reach you. We will work on these purchase requests in the order that they are received (and provide each person with a place in the delivery line,  per the timestamp of their email)

Our team is working diligently to get these issues resolved. We appreciate your patience.

If you have completed an order and have questions, please contact support@hashfast.com
If you have not yet completed an order and would like to do so, please contact sales@hashfast.com

Thank you,
John Skrodenis

Why shipping cost is part of preorder?
You should charge additional money after product is ready to ship.

Such a mess, why you didnt test website before launch?

Why you were sleeping when sales started?

Pathetic...

Lol, with those odds there isn't even any reason to vote 'no' at this point. Compare that with the KnC bet

Why don't you put your money (which they gave you) where your mouth (which they paid for) is? Grin

Hi Tyrion,
We will take another look at shipping costs and see if we can reduce the shipping costs, and refund anyone that over paid for shipping.
The shipping costs came straight from UPS, with no markup.   Part of the reason for the high shipping costs is the value of the products (insurance).

We have upgraded to a new server, and we are completely rebuilding the system. (I agree with you)

Thanks again for your patience,

John

The BTC is not evenly distributed to the winner side. There is a mechanism that the later you put down a bet the less BTC you will get.

I've been reading this all day and I don't see an answer to the question about connectivity - does this thing have ethernet, usb, wifi?  how do you manage the miner?  what's the software (bfgminer, cgminer...)?  I'm super interested, please let me know as it'll help me decide about placing my order.

And the question: why does the miner picture show 6 chips instead of 1? Been asked 3 times now and still no answer.

Website/accepting payment questions? Answered straight away.

Has anybody asked about escrow for a pre-order?  I'm curious - very interested in buying - but I've been burned by BFL and I've already laid out money with two other companies...  now I'm gun shy...  nothing against hashfast, just realizing this whole thing really is buyer beware!
