It is too much safe for ETH based tokens and coins and hacking in myetherwallet is not possible till you keep your Pvt key is secure. Beside this it is also required that always aware the news regarding problem in etherdelta platform, when there some problem persist then avoid to use this site to keep safe your holdings.

Developers refuted news about hacking myetherwallet, but i am not fully understand for him.
My recomendation not using myetherwallet for next 3-4 days.
Myetherwallet can't be hacked easiely, but we seen how etherdeltas DNS will hacked and tokens was stolen. The best way connect to the web site trough IP adress

This turned out to be BLUE's panic and rumours backed by nothing, but anyway this scared people (me in particular). I wonder if this will affect Ethereum's price Huh

Nah it won't affect the price I think.

Especially since this appeared to not be true.

I think it is highly unlikely MyEtherWallet get hacked. Your Ethereum and ERC20 tokens will be there. But don't lose its private key, otherwise you couldn't access your wallet. I have been using it for more than a year without any issue.

Few days ago my ether wallet was hacked. To be honest I'm so excited to look my coins always on my wallet. Sad to say my address was compromised I'm shocked.!
Experienced is the great teacher.
If you won't open it, it is safe as long as you alone knows the private key.

Hi, i have backupped my pvkeys on an usb stick. I wrote it also down on a piece of paper. My computer broke. I put a metal pin through the harddrives. I will not buy a new pc soon. So i wont check in on myetherwallet for some time. I cant click on phishing links. My question is : are my funds safe? Can myetherwallet get hacked? Can my funds dissapear even when i have no computer, hid my keys? Im to stupid to work with a ledger or trezor. Can something happen to it like with the parity/kill?

As long as you didn't exposed your private key you're safe. Be carefull to MEW right now. Better to use Metamask, it is more safe than my etherwallet. Because there's a chance you will lose you funds once the MEW get compromised. Beware all the time.

Ahhh.. ok

Yes there's a possibility that your etherwallet will get hacked. So we have to be secure on our key or password don't tell to anyone and always be careful when it comes to your etherwallet.

Well as long as you don't reveal your private key and you don't click any phising link then it's fine your wallet is safe. Most of the hacks happen because people don't double check and enter their private key in phising sites. It's rare to see someone get hacked because of malware. Ledger is very easy to use and there's a lot of guides on youtube how to use it, it's definitely a good investment for the security of your digital assets.

There have been instances where people go to the wrong site. Be sure to check the URL. Sometimes there will be links to MEW with a letter changed or missing that leads to a malicious site. I'd also highly recommend using a hardware wallet and MEW together. Highest form of security.

Once i experience since i mislook on airdrop instead of eth address i fill up my private thats the lesson i learned from my mistake please be aware always cause their a lot of hackers their taking advantage. Be aware on people who wants your private key care it always.

since you saved your private key no one can longer open your myetherwallet unless they'll get your usb flash drive and then copy the private key, myetherwallet is decentralized and only you can manage and open your tokens or your wallet, even the website manager dont have access in your wallet

Without your private key no one can open your myethereum wallet. So be secured with key and password don't share that key and password. Else MEW is safe. If you want more secured then use the hardware wallets.

I appreciate the simplicity that myetherwallet provides, alongside the publicity they're getting for Ether.
But I think it's a bad idea to teach people that sites like theirs are not scammy. It's just so easy to steal the private key and password with a small code tweak - so no wonder there's so many phishing sites imitating them.
Otherwise I do trust mew, but if they decide to steal our funds it's going to be easy for them, too...

In my opinion, the only safe way to keep your tokens and coins is a hardware purse, such as Ledger, or some other. The private key can not be stolen and you will never go wrong. With it, you are completely protected from spyware. This is the best option at the moment, in my humble opinion.

Myetherwallet cannot be hacked and they explained it to their website, they are not responsible for any mew stolen or hacked because it's the owners' responsibility to take care of their wallet.
If you computer was compromised by viruses and worms then your wallet might stolen unless you are very careful. Install good anti virus and don't use waley transaction with other person's computer.

Maybe it will be hacked your wallet if you post your private key yes it will be safe your tokens in your wallet as long as you save your private key safe.  But for my opinion as long as you dont buy a pc check your wallet in your tablet or cellphone to secure your tokens or convert it into currency and widraw it and hold it in cash so that you dont loses your tokens.
