Maybe it's just me but I have a hard time believing that HF will refund the exact amount of BTC that was paid for the miners.  I'm thinking, if they don't push back on refunds to begin with, that they would refund the USD ammount in BTC based on current prices.  He'res to hoping for a resolution soon.  This is my last endeavor i'm a part of and I'm kicking myself I didn't just hold the BTC.

On one hand this bums me out, but on the other hand this means that my KnC Jupiter shares are still cranking out a nice return. But in all honesty, if we don't see anything by next week, we should seriously consider asking them for a refund.

Unfortunately, the only way we're getting a refund is if they do not ship by Dec 31.

Well then we should hope that their chips do indeed start shipping and that the difficulty goes up just enough to trigger some MPP chips coming our way. You're so close to them that we would have a jump on everybody else

   reading OP I see:

• 1 Share @ ฿2.5 = 20GH/s hashing power + 3% hosting fee
• Each share entitles the owner to 1/40 of the BTC proceeds from a HashFast Baby Jet

But if a Baby Jet is a 400GH/s and you divide it in 40 shares than every share i 10GH/s: what am I missing?

Do we know how many GH/s we get for the MPP?

The MPP, as I remember it, was triggered on reaching 90 days post-delivery and not breaking even. You would then be provided with the amount of GH/s required for you to have reached the break even point in that original 90 days. I may have that confused, though.

The other thing is there was some discussion about what would be shipped, if it would be raw chips or assembled boards. I think the ultimate conclusion was shipped boards, but I'm not sure if you can just plug those into the existing miner, or build a new miner with a PSU and just those boards, or how it works.

After reading up on the MPP page at Hashfast's site (https://hashfast.com/miner-protection-program/):

Break even is calculated in BTC no matter what you paid in. It "activates" 90 days after shipping (not receipt) and will give you 2x the mining power it would have taken for you to break even during the 90 day post-shipping period, up to a maximum of 400% of original hashing speed of the machine.

That one-time activation is it, if things change to the point where it's not possible to break even even with the inclusion of the new hashing power we're just out of luck.

I can't find the confirmation that what would be shipped under the MPP is boards and not just bare chips, but I DO seem to remember seeing that at some point, so maybe take that with a grain of salt or see if you can dig up the confirmation for all of us where I failed to.

And if for some reason the boards shipped can't be simply added to the miners there's always the option of selling them and recouping our costs that way too, I suppose. But there'd be quite a glut of them on the market at that point, since an awful lot of people would be getting MPP boards at the same time.

The MPP will provide "modules" (i.e. chips on boards) to all those covered by the MPP, which does kind of give away that their initial plan was to send bare chips.

As for when they'll ship... your guess is as good as mine. The hashfast announcement thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270384.1120) is full of people saying mid-December, Hashfast themselves promised on October 23 to post a "live schedule" that they will "updating in real time" but I sure can't find it anywhere... I'm still hoping for a simple refund, honestly.

Sorry waldohoover, I'd love to be part of your group mining effort, but at this point the delays (even with the MPP) make a refund the preferable outcome.

Yeah, try to go with a refund. It's sad but most likely will save us all a lot of nerves. A positive ROI will be questionable, a refund seems to make a lot more sense in this case.

I know that others are looking into a refund. Hashfast has a refund policy that only kicks in if they don't deliver by December 31 I think. Perhaps we should see how others fare with refund requests before we ask for a refund.
