From the looks of things other cryptocurrencies are really rising this year
Look at Ripple it is second on the marketcap

As it looks now, all altcoins are clearly in the green again. Year will definitely be the year of altcoins! I'm very curious what's going on in a few months. I hope that some altcoins will rise significantly. I hate to have to wait.

The steam for altcoin will still continue in 2018. One or two years more I think. Based on the line-up of upcoming ICO's, It would be still a good year for Altcoins.

in the year 2017, ALTcoin was doing great but, and from the look of things this year most coins have started picking up, but most of them all depends on the rise and fall of bitcoin, if bitcoin price drop most will definitely drop, just look at what happen on the 17th January, 2018 when Bitcoin drop down to 9,000USD most ALTcoin drop with it, and as it rise again only very few was able to survive the heat .

2018 is a good year for altcoin. At the beginning of the year, we can see that there are new regulations implemented to protect the reliability of altcoin.  These could mean lesser scam and shitcoins.  Anonimity is reduced gradually because filling of KYC form is now required especially for bounty that could later lead to the acceptance of altcoin in countries that ban cryptocurrencies.

I hope that exactly this year the altcoyins will prove to be good in the price plan. They are much more useful for people than advertised bitcoins. Actually 2017 was also a great year for altcoins. If you check and analyse the price increase in altcoins and bitcoin, you will see that almost every altcoin increased more than bitcoin. We all say that bitcoin is safe heaven and most of the altcoins will die in the future, however charts and statistics does not say the same. We should agree that bitcoin price is high considering altcoins, or we can say altcoin prices are high considering bitcoin. Market will do what its going to do and this "invisible hand" of the market will help price increase in altcoins this year also
