Yes it had the wrong source file. It's fixed now, please redownload.

Hey Mtrlt,

Any info on how to fix the appcrash? seems many of us here are experiencing that.
I have no idea why it happens. Post your config.

This happens on my windows system with beta 1 using cat 12.8 (64 bit win 7) on a 7970. Have no clue how to compile from windows btw.

I had a crash until I patched libblkmaker to support primecoin.  Have you already done that?

Crap. I thought the libblkmaker I had was already patched. I have patched the library now, everyone should redownload it: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55025350/bitcoin-libblkmaker.zip

There is a lot of whining in here.
Most people don't seem to understand what a donation is,
Instead they thought about a potential gain and misunderstood this for a promised or guaranteed gain.
You have no grounds to whine on, so take it somewhere else.

I donated, the miner isn't working at all for me, constant crashes.
I was aware of the possibility of this and I did not expect anything else.
I donated to support the developer not for personal gain.

So please take the whining to another thread, so we can focus on bug reports and getting the miner to work Smiley

ermm..

So is it faster than CPU? is it slower?

Is there any mining hardware comparison for primecoins?

thanks

Have you tried decreasing the sievesize to 1000000, the percent to 10, and probably more importantly, increasing the worksize to 256?

Yes, its just slowed the time before it hits the appcrash.. let me try those 3 variables all at the same time.

Nope.. same results.. still appcrash..

I can't turn the fermat test off because then it crashes straight on start and I get fraction assserts error.
I have gotten the program to work for roughly 30-45 sec then it crashes.
I have 2x7990 and I am running all 4 cores.
I have the latest drivers and I run on windows 7 64 bits.
I have the following settings

host 127.0.0.1
port 9332
user username
pass password

protocol primecoin

worksize 256
aggression 16
sievepercentage 10
sievesize 1000000

primecoin_address AbJSsYd5cnj2MxmBEHxtWo8kwpt7qA77xM
debug false
opencldebug false
cpu_mining_threads 4
use_gpu true
use_gpu_fermat_test true
getwork_rate 1000

Any suggestions on how to fix it? Smiley

you're absolutely certain you have the user/pass/IP/port correct, as per your primecoin.conf for the QT?  I found it crashed if it couldn't getwork from the rpc server

It is working and it is getting work from the QT Smiley
It starts to look for prime numbers and finds one/two chains but then it crashes after a couple of seconds.

I'm getting "The procedure entry point clEnqueueFillBuffer could not be located in the dynamic link library" and crash. Win8 x64 & GTX 560

You need to upgrade your amd/nvidia drivers to fix that one, but it will probably still crash after that.

Same here on Win8 x64 Nvidia C2075. The driver was updated in July and should support  openCL 1.1

You assume clEnqueueFillBuffer works in OCL 1.1

It seems clEnqueueFillBuffer indeed requires OpenCL 1.2. I could do without it but it's kind of a pain in the ass. Nvidia doesn't have drivers that support OpenCL 1.2?

Nvidia seems to only support OpenCL1.2 on one or two models to some extend. http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=24747

Ahhhh so this is why it crashes on OSX 10.8, which ships with OpenCL 1.1 and there is no newer driver available.

According to Wikipedia, when OS X 10.9 Mavericks ships this Fall, OpenCL 1.2 and OpenGL 4.1 will be built in.
