i think the answer should be yes,as per my opinion telegram is a most important social media through which we can get updated every news. There are some functions such as group, channel. In the group about 30000 member can join but  the channel lot of people can subscribe and updated what they will publish about their company or project. So its measure ico will success or not i think.

This is something that can very easily be faked or manipulated. I don't think that anyone should take this seriously because registration to telegram used to be very easy to be made by bots and to an extent still is. There's no indication that Telegram has gotten rid of the old bot accounts in their platform either.

Telegram is my favourite messenger, but I wouldn't claim that is measures the ICO's success because success is formed by a new creative idea and relevance on the market

recently, it's the app used by bountyhunters and traders to communicate with each other since it's considered as convenient also, personally.

still, ICO's success is not based on social medias or telegram. advertisements are just placed or posted there but the success is still based on the earnings of the bounty campaign, if it were able to earn or not.

I dont think so, you can never rely on that data because there are many parameters to be considered more than telagram.

Telegram is so widely used in the cryptoworld that there is a new trading bot on this platform called telex AI. Soon their TLX tokens will be on the exchanges so worth looking out for those (assuming you missed the recent ICO)

ICOs usually don't have any presentation in real world, most of them exist in the Web only. So when people are active in social media groups of an ICO, it is definitely a good sign:)

Telegram has long been the playground of crypto traders and amateurs. To help investors determine which ICOs are the most dynamic, ICO Whitelists has put together a page following the cryptographic projects that have gained the most followers in the last 24 hours. The site explains:
99% of all ICOs use Telegram as a channel to interact with their communities. This means that we can measure the strength of ICO communities by measuring the size of these Telegram groups.

Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

It's one thing that definitely can be a good indicator but shouldn't be relied on, many groups blow up because of airdrops and such that oversell how much support the actual project has.

Telegram is just a medium for communication in order for you to ask questions in an admin of a project and it is use also in building community. Well, in cryptocurrency, for you to be trusted by many people you should first build a community. And so there's telegram to build one.

One other medium was slack, but due to many occurrence of FUDS and scams by other users, projects tend to switch to telegram or discord.

Telegram is a social media (a very good one). The problem with all social media is that there are 1000 ways to get more followers, members, or friends. So, nope, a bigger telegram doesn't always show a more successful project.

Telegram is a fast way of communication, but amount of members is not a way to measure success of an ICO (imo) as bots are still there Smiley

Could be an element but there are many more factors to consider in an ICO success.

Telegram tells a bit about the community interest initially, but I would say its a challenge for the Project to keep it engaged also after the ICO!

Telegram is one of my favorite platforms for companies I like/follow. I've been a part of Polymath since the beginning and all of their growth is organic and the project is solid. They even got featured on ICO examiner as well lol

The Durov brothers have created an amazing platform and adjusted it with the needs of market. Very fast, secured and comfortable, it is no surprise that every ICO creates a channel as it is the fastest way to keep your clients 'up-to-date'

This ICO is not for ordinary people. Will buy coins only for dollars. And the minimum amount there is huge. Telegram ICO is not even for whales, but for very large whales.

I think it's another good way for marketing because some people are just getting news via telegram. Telegram is a good way of getting news, marketing, and building a community because it's easy to use and convenient for people to gather the latest information about coins and ICO.

I like this platform too. I considered telegrams as a regular messenger, like ICQ. Then I realized that all cryptomaniacs were chatting in Telegram. Now I read the news that Telegram makes its blockchain TON and its crypto currency Gram. Now I don't know what telegrams can turn into.

I think that there is something to it. Community is everything, especially after the ico/tge/launch. Thanks for sharing.
