Is Telegram the new measure of ICO success?

Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

Basically Telegram discussion group consists of potential investors and interested individual, that's why Telegram could be one of the measure for ICO success. But, amount of people in the group does not matter at all. Content of their discussion and the frequency of conversation are more important.

I do not know for sure whether the number of members in telegram is influential with the success of the ico project. there could be airdrop participants in the telegram group. ico project holds airdrop on condition of joining their telegram group whose function is to increase the rating of ico or to make the investor interested in joining the ico project.

I do not think that the number of members could affect ico's success, because the number of telegram members usually only contains spammers and people who follow airdrop. In addition, not a few airdrop hunters who use fraudulent ways to add fake refferal. However, sometimes there are also investors who are interested if you see the number of telegram members are many and active, it's just that now many investors are really critical and not only assess ico from the number of members only.

Thats a big ask, to stake the measure of ico success on Telegram alone. Yes it could be a determinant, considering its popularity and convenience, but still its reach is not all pervasive over crypto investors.

since airdrop became a marketing tool for forming a large community in telegram, I no longer use the reference that large telegram users, now have no effect on the success of an ICO
I prefer groups that are always busy discussing about the project, not about airdrop

I think telegram can't measure on how can IICO become successful. I strongly believe that the product is the most important thing in a project and its type of management team.

Short answer: NO
Telegram is a joke. Literally, anyone who joins Telegram is just for making some quick bucks and has no idea what the company is doing. So a telegram group that has 400 members or 40000 members does not reflect anything about the company

The number of Telegram members is not by any means a powerful measure of project success. There are many bots in Telegram channels.

if menururt me of we see that in social media groups, especially telegram media that already has more than 50,000 members then I can not say and this can not be a benchmark as the success of the project. here there will be another assessment that is how much investors and how much the proceeds of funds collected.
