Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

Article: https://news.bitcoin.com/telegram-followers-the-new-metric-for-cryptocurrency-success/
Everything can be faked is not a metric of success, most ICOs pay free tokens for members to join their channels, while trusty ICOs do not need to pay for their members. I think the real metric should be the degree of interaction inside the ICO channel, not the members count.

I do not thing so. Telegram channel can have a lot of subscribers, but they can be not active. And of course advitising campaign must be in all posible social media, including reddit, steemit, medium and ather. So if you need promotion in reddit you can buy upvotes on upvotes.io

I don't think so, Telegram is just a social media platform and we have to check many other things to measure the ICO success. But the crypto community is more oriented to Telegram than the other social media platforms, that's why some people think that the project which have a big Telegram group is successful, which is surely wrong.

I guess there was a time that it became a common denominator for successful ICOs but now it does not mean anything. There are so many telegram invites and it became a prerequisite for bounty hunters and you will also be surprised that some accounts include you in groups you did not even want to be in.

I thought it was very influential because I also looked for and rated the bounty well or not from the social median if there were so many telegram followers. I was sure that the bounty was good,

I don't think telegram is a benchmark that the project is good or even successful because in recent years there have been many bot followers in it

In my opinion, an active telegram channel is very good! You can always ask interested investors questions, chat with other participants. This is usually a good sign, but there are also exceptions.

Telegram is a good way to attract investors since this is easy to use and you can communicate with the managers right away. This is just like another social media platform that you can use to communicate and to advertise.

I also think that the number of subscribers in telegram does not reflect the real state of affairs of the project. Projects need activity in all social media.

Nope I don't think it determines the measures or how good an ico projects gonna be,  most of the project out there right now are using airdrop to bring in more people into their group,  and such airdrop reward can dump the token so hard

the creator of the telegram is a very smart person and this is not his first quality project. I am sure that he will do a good job and of course he will be successful. Many critics have already called his ICO one of the best this year

Not really, Telegram is just a media channel like Facebook or Twitter, it does not evaluate whether ICO has succeeded or not, to know if a successful ICO or not based on many other factors

by seeing a telegram that has more than 50k groups, I think it's a very good project because social media has a lot of followers and visits it

I do not think so. Telegram can be a trap and it has never been a priority to evaluate the quality of an ico project. Essentials will be ideas, WP, devs team, advisor team and beta versions (if any).

I think not. But telegrams are a factor to consider when choosing ico. The addition of professional telegram community managers also brings credibility and professionalism to the project. So, I also regularly monitor the telegram of the project before deciding on the investment.

but if I think that telegram is not necessarily a special benchmark for successful ico, telegram is only for communication media and the role for ico success is the marketing and concept of the project. in my opinion, bro

ICOs nowadays use telegram groups to attract baby accounts that seems not good. I have seen many ICOs with plenty telegram members that barely had any investors. Those telegram members could've been gained by hosting an airdrop. Real investors should be wary of this.

at this time telegram group from a crypto to me is no longer a measure of success where many fake telegram accounts, until at a certain time when crypto is listing in the market and needs a lot of votes, there will be clearly seen how many votes. many dev and project teams were initially very happy to see the development and enthusiasm of the telegram group but will feel sad the next few moments
