sorry I do not have that and am away from my A3 to create one for you. There's a few usernames earlier in the thread that helped out, maybe PM them for best results...

on your A3 dashboard, you go to system after that upgrade and than you will find generate archive!

That would be great if you can help.

@Tssar
this function creates ONLY the backup of the config files, this is not possible to copy the firmware.

Support me on the decred redit. Let's push the decred community to soft fork to defend itself against the obelisk dcr1 miner. The SIA development team have proven themselves untrustworthy. Who knows what they will do with all that decred asic hardware?! They will probably 51% attack the network! I heard that they sold 1 million miners!

https://www.reddit.com/r/decred/comments/7st4fw/obelisk_51_attack_is_coming/

1 million miners! yeah that doesn't sound credible.

I do not normally chime in... and this is the very short version. In part but not limited too - The "off switch" was never disclosed to everyone publicly so that informed decisions could be made about buying the their asic, a different asic, gpu rig, other, or investing in their company in any manner. Many bought the A3 to as there was no mention about an "off switch" against competitors (also legal issues with that) , they left themselves open to a massive class action law suite to say the least.
It is in their best interest to focus on growth and it is the only thing that will ensure the companies future success. Sia is a brilliant idea and it will go very very far if it has a focus on growth and refinement of the product and the industry as a whole. It must hold to its core value of decentralization.  The raising tide lifts all the ships...

Hi guys, I would highly appreciate anyone willing to provide feedback on the following game plan. This is my first foray into mining. Am I missing anything?

We have 3x Antminers A3s miners arriving today and 3x PSU APW3++.

Got the 220 outlets being installed yesterday by an electrician. Towards the end of it he was asking me about 1 phase and 3 phase and I was just left confused. Can anyone point me to an article or explain what this is all about and how it affects the A3s/other miners?

Got shelves (with wood boards) and a large and really cold basement (we're talking like in the 50s F this time of year).

Must/Should I get metal grates instead of wood boards?
Is my basement too cold? What would be too cold?

I'm thinking of building boxes for reducing the sound still, this will be needed because the basement is shared with some neighbors.

But, also because I want to protect from dust. The intake will have one of those wide metal hoses. Can I put a filter on it? I'm guessing yes so long as I clean it often?

Wallet: I got the Sia Client on my PC. Got an address to receive Sia.

Exchange:
I will be holding Sia, but I also plan on diversifying into BTC/ETH/LTC/BCC/USD

How about this Minepool > Sia Wallet > Suggested Exchanges? > GDAX > My Bank Account?

Pool: https://siamining.com/

I read on Siamining.com that I can add a "." to my address and give it a worker name after that. Can I make 3 different ones under the same address then?

SAMEsiaadress.worker1 SAMEsiaadress.worker2 SAMEsiaadress.worker3

And in that case where is the best place to monitor the progress of the individual machines?

For connecting them to the network, I see people using "switches." I'm almost certain I can just use a router connected to my network. Am I right?

What is the proper way to reboot a machine? Just flip the switch on and off on the PSU? on the miner?

Thanks!

I believe 3 phase 220 is the most efficient form of power- I believe its best for mining.

Probably be okay with the wood as the miner itself doesn't get that hot, just kicks out a lot of hot air. Metal of course would be safer. The basement I would watch closely. I had 3 S9's in my living room for awhile, would be 35 degrees outside and 85 in my living room. Would open all my windows and doors to cool the room off and it would take about 30-45 minutes to cool off. Keep an eye on your ambient temps.

The sound will be a problem- I never did anything about that, I just run my AntMiners in a commercial building at this point. Air filtration is an excellent idea as long as it doesn't impede airflow.

Currently I mine directly to my Bittrex wallet where I can exchange for other currencies, send to GDAX/Gemini etc. Mining to a Sia wallet is safer, especially if you're planning on holding for a considerable amount of time.

What you said about naming workers is correct, and you can have as many workers as you'd like on the same address.

Currently you can monitor your workers from the Siamining website. It's enough to know if one of them is hashing correctly or not, will give you their individual status if you have them all named.

All switches do is give you additional network ports to plug into if you run out of ports on your router, plugging directly into the router will work.

The machines/PSUs believe it or not actually have no power button or switch, you literally just unplug it from the wall. Still feels weird doing it every time. lol

Hope this helps! Enjoy your A3s!

Umm no...tell your electrician you want 1 phase 220v. 3 phase is completely different and not compatable with 220v psu.

There is no 220v in people's homes. The electrician will probably look at him like he has 4 heads.

It's 240v split-phase. 2 hots + 1 ground from a 2 pole breaker (and grounding bar). Each hot is 120V 180 degrees out of phase. When one hot is +120v the other hot is -120, the difference is 240v.

Exactly, and if you do not have empty space in your breaker box to add tandem breakers for 240 you cannot run it. Very likely you wont, which would mean you need to "upgrade your box capacity" so the electrician can install those tandem (2 hots ) breakers to create a 240 line. Whole new breaker box, breakers, wiring and receptacles.

Or you can just DYI and run some 12 gauge wire to some existing rarely used breakers that are on different bus bars Wink

LOL! That's exactly how I started out. Not DYI recommended for the untrained!! As I know you know. that was for others reading. ( VERY DANGEROUS)
