Have theory that A3 was build on D3  and this is the reason some A3 (including mine) have problems with hash boards - appears/disappears, hashing/no hashing, all asics few only and then turning 0000 into xxxx...

Nothing is helping to solve: rebooting, restarting, resetting, plugging / unplugging, each by one, separately, adding two AWP++ , changing controller cables 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4  Even flashing ( thank you blissz) - NOTHING

But funny my D3 with A3 firmware turns into A3 miner, even connects to the SIA pool, but not hashing and after moment all asics turns xxxx

This suggest than  sia network or "brick attack" on 24th is not the real problem. The real is that bitmain cleaned D3 stock transforming them into A3 thought

____  NOW the funny moment. If/when somebody finds out hot to avoid that wall  to make D3 (with A3 firmware) hashing on SIA network.... Smiley  ....... ALL D3 would finally be able to deliver ROI

Actually been working this angle, have a pretty good idea of what makes a miner a D3 or and A3, but i need a D3 to test or someone with a D3 to send me some data to try to turn my A3 into a D3.

There's pretty good reasons for bitmain to do something like this if they could. It would massively increase profits for them to have a ASIC chip that could be re-seeded to different algos.

Also if you want to dump firmware the bitmain way...

nanddump -f /initramfs.bin.SD /dev/mtd8
nanddump -f /am335x-boneblack-bitmainer.dtb /dev/mtd6
nanddump -f /uImage.bin /dev/mtd7
nanddump -f /u-boot.img /dev/mtd4

You'll have to hex edit those files afterwards and remove the trailing FF's to make them exactly like bitmain sends them out.

It's something like 7500 units online at the moment. Total max should be for this batch 11500.

For the price of this miner, $50 a day is pretty solid. You'd be hard pressed to put together a GPU miner for that price that could hit similar numbers. I mean surely you didn't expect the $600 / day rate to last very long, especially with how small the global hash rate was.

I got my miner on Wednesday and the ROI is 30 days (excluding electricity) assuming it stays at $90/day, those who got the A3 sooner will have quicker ROI

Agreed. However, I got my miner on Wednesday, which was still a "head start" compared to others and never ever remotely made those daily profits. Maybe $200 in the first 24 hours. When I turned mine on global hash-rate was 900TH or something in that ballpark.

Yea, got mine on Thursday. While i have been enjoying the past couple days, simple math showed it wouldn't last long. If batch 2 isn't released till march then we may have a good chance of a 30 day ROI. To drop to $45 we would need roughly 14K miners online which so far it seems like they didn't sell that many. So i think somewhere between $50 and $100 is our landing point until batch 2. Just pray that the Chinese new year delays it quite a bit.

Is bliss making any custom firmware for the A3?

I would love the ability to underclock a certain chain and overclock the rest. One chain is consistently 10c hotter than the rest.

Undervolting would be amazing as well.

I heard A3 have huge profits.
My friend got 2 A3+ and earned 20k coins /days.
But for now the diff is increasing a lot daily
It make me confused and scared scared to buy some A3

yess... strong request to new buyers - don't buy A3 at least for a while (month-two)!
leave Sia to current miners!

New buyers? Do you even know how this works? Bitmain sells in batches, difficulty will increase until all these batch 1 miners are online. Bitmain will probably release a batch 2 soon, if they do, it will sell out, profit will keep dropping.

Regarding your request, I'm sure many will listen to it  Roll Eyes

i understand that difficulty will be increasing while we are mining
i mean - don't add more hashrate to pools at least for a while!

How so?  Even at 12000 units wouldn't it level out to about $50-60 per day.  That's not too bad.  Mine for 30 days, then sell the unit.

Big question is how many will they sell. Batch 1 will probably be OK, at least the one that received it early. Batch 2, 3... probably not. Guys that bought resold batch 1 for 6k or more, facepalm.

I'm finally mining.. Tongue
UPS made it in record timing for me ...(faster than usual anyways) I still had to go 20k out of town to pick it up... because they tried to deliver it at 130PM !! -have these guys heard of deliveries AFTER working hours -ie when people are home? If I didn't go, they were going to 'attempt' to deliver it on Monday.
good ol' capital of canuckia.. Tongue Tongue

I cheated the delivery time, by doing this I got an extra £100, maybe it can help you in the future https://youtu.be/K2_W6KqzzgI

What do you mean "I cheated the delivery time"? Did you do something to get fast delivery?
Thanks
