any news on trading KED guys?

KED will be accepted on the new exchange.  The dev has given me a time scale of 2 weeks for beta testing.  Then it should be maybe 2 more weeks and we are up and running.  no promises! but we will do all we can to get this up and running ASAP.

coins that will be accepted on the exchange so far.

Staple Diet:
BTC
LTC
XPM
NMC (maybe)

SciFi Flavor:
DPS (DollarPounds)
UFC (FederationCredits)
KED (Darsek)
GPL (GoldPressedLatinum)
ORB (OrbitCoin) [highly likely]

Any other SciFi / fantasy / Comic / collectors type coin will be considered.  For  example Sauron Rings etc.  But we do not want to grow too large.  Coins that do not fit into these categories will never be on the site unless they are very popular and can bring initial investment.  We would love to have a site without BTC and the others but this is not feasible as investment needs to come from outside the SciFiCoin world.

Please bear in mind that any coins with a premine, will need to justify this with clear plans for it's future and where the premine will go.  We realize that coins are not free to make, either time or money or both is required.  So we understand that some premine for the creator is normal for their time and effort.

So what's the deal with scrypt-jane coins? Are they only cpu minable or is there a gpu miner out there?

I'm mining away on cpu at the moment. I'm getting quite a few orphans with my old cpu's but I think you've made a Ferengi out of me. I'm even brushing up on my rules of acquistions:

There is a gpu miner for scrypt-jane, it involves knowing a "StartT" value, and I'm not sure what that is, can probably find it somewhere in the source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=269145.msg2946557#msg2946557

But right now the difficulty for GPL is so low that it's quite unnecessary.

From source it looks like

main.cpp 43:
int64 nChainStartTime = 1377557832;

main.cpp 952-953:
const unsigned char minNfactor = 4;
const unsigned char maxNfactor = 30;

Sounds like you are having a hard time!  I hoped this would be smooth...  does sound like there is some hope.  Only Darsek is based on cosmoscoin, I was not aware of an issue when I picked this coin to clone.   Sad

I did not know that! I guess the old saying about ASS U ME applies here.  Cheesy

I had just assumed both coins were Cosmo based coins and had only been testing with Darsek.

SO I am happy to announce:

The Federation CryptoCoin Mine has been switched over to stratum

I have tested it and it works beautifully.

The mining address port remains 4444, those who are mining will notice your miners automatically switched to stratum.

http://ufccoin.com:4444  works

stratum+tcp://ufccoin.com:4444    also works

I will continue to work on Darsek.

I have come up with a temporary solution to the Darsek pool.

It is a bit of a "messy" solution, but should suffice until a real solution is found.

Every hour the Pushpool back-end will be killed and restarted. I am testing it now on the live sever.

Awesome dream!

BTW, is it not too different to make a pool for a scrypt-jane coin (GPL)?
I seem to not be able to solo mine it anymore, I guess cos the difficulty is too high for my weak processor

The Darsek solution appears to be working well, not a single crash since implemented. Miners can mine with confidence on the Darsek mine. (www.kedcoin.com)

Scrypt-jane is yet another beast.

I will not only have to find/adapt a pool back end for it, but also possibly alter an existing mining program to work with latinum coins.

I will look into it and post back when I have an answer.

Also the Darsek pool is still going strong, still completely stable.

I really hate to do this but:

I think I should send a word of caution about GPL.

As a point of reference block 5:
Code:

}

That date code is: Tue Aug 27 2013 15:04:05 GMT-0500 (CDT)

Current GPL getinfo:

Code:

}

65754 blocks in 3 days.  Equates to around 15 blocks per SECOND over three days.

I would hold off mining GPL and instead mine UFC or KED until the situation is fixed. I have already contacted the developer with some issues I have found in the code.

The issues are easy to fix but will require a block chain restart.  Sad

I hope I am mistaken, but at the very least caution is in order.
