Q: [analyzing the cause for the Bre'el IV moon's trajectory] This is obviously the result of a large celestial object passing through at near right angles to the plane of the star system. Probably a black hole.

Lt. Cmdr. Data: Can you recommend a way to counter the effect?

Q: Simple. Change the gravitational constant of the universe.

To boldy go where no crypto-coin has gone before...our own forums now.

www.scificointalk.com

enjoy!

Registration is not working, and what is this?

Quote
What is the algorithim used to mine UFC or KED?

UFC and KED are are mined as ordinary scrypt coins.

GPL is scrypt-jane (YAC type Clone)

I knew how to answer the question, and my question was in reference to one of the other eight words in the sentence.

BTW, I still can't register, with not getting any email notice, for the site won't let me get that far. It keeps asking me to correct the fields (paraphrased).

ckolivas has released Cgminer 3.6.1

SO far it appears to really clean up the issues involved with the SDK, Driver version and GPU mix/match voodoo.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.msg3335633#msg3335633

Download At:

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/

I will see if I can update the GPL miner to this version.

Dream,

So basically you just take his miner, and then replace the scrypt methods with scrypt-jane?

And did you change the gravity constant already? Feels a bit lighter...

ps. check your PM.

well..about the only word  in that sentence that may be confusing...algorithm?... its a synonym to 'recipe' or 'formula'.

i've reviewed the logs and there are no pending registrations or failed attempts.  All i can say is try again or pm your details and i can set it up manually.

cheers.

Each coin or group of coin really needs its own forum for a couple of reasons:

1: This is the BITCOIN talk forum and the administrators have every right to pull the Alternate coin section any time they please. They "tolerate" the alt coin forum, because some really good ideas do come out of here. But in the general core Bitcoin community we are viewed on the level of insects.

2. A coins own forum serves as a place for your coins community to meet without the majority of trolling and just general cesspools that some threads fall down into. Like hanging out at a friends house after work.

3. Much more development and ideas get laid out in the open with the relative protection of a coin's community forum.

I have more, but it is late and I am tired........

WARNING ABOUT Darsek:

There appears to be some strangeness going on, the pool has not found a block in 7 hours, and only 12 blocks have been found since the last pool block.

The 12 blocks that were placed on the block chain in those 7 hours have all been POS blocks. NO POW BLOCKS have been found. It appears the network is rejecting all the POW blocks.

I have tested this by solo mining locally and all blocks are rejected.

This is from mining locally:

Code:
 cgminer version 3.6.1 - Started: [2013-10-17 00:10:10]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 (5s):1.022M (avg):1.011Mh/s | A:0  R:0  HW:25  WU:841.8/m
 ST: 5  SS: 0  NB: 3  LW: 0  GF: 0  RF: 0

 Block: 85f1f773cc905d5a...  Diff:502  Started: [00:19:07]  Best share: 9.72K
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notice how the difficulties are all messed up. The daemon is claiming a difficulty of 26k  but a network difficulty of 502  Huh

UFC mining on the pool:

Code:
 cgminer version 3.6.1 - Started: [2013-10-17 00:13:02]

 Block: d85496d141d9c44f...  Diff:4.59K  Started: [00:23:31]  Best share: 72K

Here we see the normal scenario: Pool difficulty 32  : network Diffculty: 4.59k

This is the output mining on the KED pool (Which I made sure the pool is running correctly and restarted the LP to make sure)

You can see the Difficulty weirdness again.

Notice how all the blocks that I solved where ultimately rejected by the coin daemon on the pool server, all the solved blocks I mine locally are being rejected (So now we are talking two completely separate systems and daemons)

I am not quite sure what to do?

'that... would be illogical.'

does the Qt version reproduce the same results as the daemon?

also...have you tried it with cgminer 3.0.1 ?

The pool  runs off a daemon.

The local mining test was QT client.

Same result. As seen above I am working with both cgminer 2.11.2 and 3.6.1.

Of course, NONE of these three things should be having this effect, this appears to be network wide

Look at the explorer (Yet a third, system and daemon)

interesting...

the block explorer reports current block hieght of 81690 as the latest block as of this writing..
 and:
81690   10-17 06:28:38   2   50.63136   0.00390625   492

81687   10-17 06:06:59   2   54.79624   0.00390625   492

block times dont seem too big...

all i can think of is random luck or someone's pool was on the fritz hopping on and off.

the block sizes (last column) are starting to grow...maybe the network was choking on a few?

81660   10-16 21:35:42   1   3.5   0.0273674298   267 - THIS IS THE LAST POW BLOCK ON THE NETWORK

The only reason blocks are coming regularly now is because a wallet(s) is online with enough stake to keep the chain moving.

Mining has not produced a single block since 81660.

Remember, the target time is one minute, yet we are seeing hour gaps. The size of the blocks does not effect hash rate, at least at this coins level.
