Hello Trek fans.

An update regarding all things star-trek.

1.  At the moment we are talking with guys from cryptsy regarding implementation.  They are interested but I can't give anyone a gaurente or a timescale.

2.  the scificoin exchange, is coming along all though this won't be ready anytime soon, but there is definite progress.

3.  We are still undecided on what algorithm for the KED relaunch.  The poll favors Quark. but the SHA and Scrypt votes are watered down.  We may add a second poll, with the top SHA vs top Scrypt vs quark clone.

Has anyone ever found out why PoS coins can get stuck like this? Is it because of too many unspent outputs in clients?

I propose a few solutions:
 - Not accepting stake blocks below a minimum amount, say 17.5 KED (5 blocks), and only accept those with non-zero staked amounts.
 - Implement coin control into the client, encouraging people to consolidate their balances so as to obtain large stake rewards.

Also, I am still pushing a Quark PoW+PoS hybrid. You could market it as double the security - first by multiple encryption algorithms, then also extra due to PoS. Smiley

I just want to say I think converting KED into a Quark clone is about the worst thing to do...QRK has almost the lowest value in Cryptsy's BTC market and I think KED would follow suit if it is remade as such.

hi guys, does any thing change with GPL, my rig getting lower hashrate about weeks.
The 7970 usually getting 4xx Kh/s, now it only get 130Kh/s. Using same setting --Nfmin 4 --Nfmax 30 --StartT 1377557832.

I'm trying solo and also dream pool, presenting same hashrate.
Anyone getting issues like me?

It's supposed to do that... every N change lowers hashrate

I've come to the same conclusion.

After careful thought, and looking at the poll (some people seem to have changed their vote).
16 for Quark and 15 for Scrypt (pos+pow).  if we add the non pow scrypt votes we have 19 for scrypt in total.  So KED the "next generation" will be scrypt after all.

I think based on the news, there may well be scrypt based hardware soon it would lend to a more stable future.  If specialist hardware does get released then it will really support the coin a lot more than a CPU based coin ever could.

I want to yet again apologize for the Downtime on the pools, since my last post that they are up.

The issues were all on the VPS end, however I now have a direct contact with them so in the future i will not have to wait for support tickets to be answered.

These coins seem to be promising for the future, just based on novelty. So thought I would share this here:

Dream,

Your UFC pool hasn't found any blocks in the past 15 hours. Although I've seen the global hash rate jumped up quite a bit yesterday and today, is there anything wrong with your pool ? That some old cron job?

During the VPS issues yesterday, one of the resets must have occurred in the middle of a cron job run.

The PID file was not removed as a result. The script that runs the crons would see the PID file and just exit out assuming it was already running.

I have removed the file and started the crons, stats and accounts should be caught up in a few minutes.

Nothing has been lost, accounting fell behind, but all shares and blocks are recorded.

What is the minimum stake amount for GPL, KED, UFC? Is it 0.01? I had gotten many zero-stake blocks on KED, and am worried that if I enable stake minting on GPL it may just burn coin-age without generating stake.
