That's insane, one account with 20% of global hash rate. That’s Halong Mining doing QC...they have not shipped yet Got to love that QC control (secret version) probably call it 'pre-QC' they were likely doing the last 3 months IMHO I know for the BTC miners ..it is pretty much a wash...for what they paid in Nov 2017 for them, compared to just getting Bitmain units also shipping this month. Then again BTC price was high, back in Nov 2017, WTF, so maybe it all will work out for them also...who knows? at the BTC miner end...not so sure this SiaCoin Halong miner will last very long...I see it like the D3 from Bitmain...very first in line, you are probably OK on ROI...the rest after 1st group..iffy as hell

i wonder what's the current ROI for an A3. Thinking about getting my hands on some
As of right this second, a couple months - but I'm pretty sure Bitmain has some being shipped, and another batch due by the end of the month. Wasn't there someone else (Obelisk perhaps?) that announced a SIA miner a few months back but has yet to deliver? The price of sia has fallen over 50% in the last month. I don’t see an end in sight either. Do ASICS usually increase the price of the coin? I would think it would drive prices even farther down The price of pretty much ALL Cryptocoins has dropped 50% or more from the peak around mid-January. ASIC have ZERO effect on price - it's PRICE that affects profitability and the profitability that affects the potential for an ASIC to be sold at a profit for it's maker. Not exactly. Siacoin dumped 10 times from january prices because of ASICs

Ah I wouldn't even think about them over priced and no communication company By the way Love your reviews (Good Job) Also they declared Hashrate: 3.83TH/s But I see 3.37 GH/s on the picture. 1 TH = 1000 GH/s And they are trying to sell such peace of shit for $5549? I wounder if they could earn $0,5 per day on it. If they were mining, not selling ASICs

I'm a bit skeptical about much profit remaining in running an A3. If you look at the other coin-space taken over by ASICS, the event marks a significant tightening of supply vs demand.
Might be better to move to mining a fresher coin and buy where ASICS invade rather than buy a device with a limited future.

Siacoin dumped 10 times from january prices because of ASICs No, Siacoin PRICE did NOT dump due to ASIC. Siacoin PRICE dumped as it's a very small altcoin that doesn't have a lot of investor confidence and overall MARKET confidence in altcoins (other than some of the majors like ETH and LTC and DASH) dropped a lot more than for the "big coins". The timing of the introduction of the A3 was coincidence - it is NOT the norm and never has been for "introduce an ASIC" to kill the Price of a coin. When the original Gridseed Orb was introduced, Litecoin Price shrugged. When the 3 different first-generation X11 ASIC miners (Pinidea, iBeLink, and Bailal) were introduced, DASH Price was flat and stayed that way for almost a year (then exploded along with most altcoins) - and I didn't see any effect on Price by the Baikal for coins on the OTHER algorithms it mined as well. What dies when an ASIC is first shipped for an algorithm is PROFITABILITY, which is NOT the same as Price and does not influence Price, though Price is one of the 3 MAJOR factors that determine Profitability.

Machines out or not out dont effect price as much as market conditions do.

Machines out or not out dont effect price as much as market conditions do. Sia has little demand, but the a3 produces a large supply of coins. People are just selling sia into btc as they mine. Not many seem to be holding. Asics on unpopular coins kill their price. There needs to be more buying volume on exchanges for sia.

Remember the original use of the ASIC machines on Sia was for the decentralized storage network...thus even with the original sia-tecH obelisk sc-1 hardware....IF they were the ONLY units out their stuff (not bitmain again Sia-Tech 1st batch) the inflation was going to be 25% a MONTH...thus, this coin, IMHO, will only work with the network storage angle...if that don't fly....it will go the way of when the KNC Titans got a firmware patch for Scrypt-N machines in 2014....12-15 coins...all destroyed and the protocol defunct...otherwise will be again IMHO overwhelmed with coin and price will go to nothing.

After questioning halong mining's validity in my last video a member of their staff messaged me assuring me they were real and yoshi goto is to be trusted. I asked for pictures of miners and he said I will have to wait until customers receive their machines soooo. . vaporware?

I don't think it's vaporware. Yoshi has had a good career at Bitmain. He wouldn't risk his reputation on vaporware. BTW - Keep up the videos man...just got into mining and I think I've watched 20+ now

Only buyers of the first shipment of new ASICs can earn somewhat reasonable. Others pays a lot of money for mith.

It's hard to ROI on a miner costing $5,549 when the price of Siacoin is at 0.014$ and metric tonnes of additional hardware about to hit the network. Will be following from the sidelines to see how they make out. My two A3s are still hashing away like champs.

depends on your power cost, on the next batch of A3's hitting the marked etc.

depends on your power cost, on the next batch of A3's hitting the marked etc. My power cost is about 0.19usd/kw. Would it still be profitable? What other miner would be potentially profitable atm?

Received one antminer A3 here in canada. 0.07 USD /Kwh
Waiting for 2 mores.
Can't say what whill happen about overall sia coin market price, but yeah difficulty will rise a bit in the next 2 weeks.
I'm about sure it will become a bit less profitable than the S9 at the current SC price, but hey, can't say that I'm unhappy to mine with it since I live in Canada.
Mine and long term holding for me. ( except for electricity bills )

What's your current daily profit average with the A3? And with the S9? Thanks!
