take your time and get it right guys...don't be in a hurry...as the post just above you pointed out, xtl is not big enough yet to worry about someone who just spent thousands on an asic....in the words of douglas adams "don't panic"

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

its more than irritating...its criminal....the only reason that they made them was to mine with them until someone figured out what was going on...once that happened, they knew algo would be changed and they could just sell them to suckers who wont even receive them until AFTER the algo change...they will be over-priced space heaters...that's it

and to those worrying about 21bill being too many coins, bear in mind that xtl only has 2 decimal places....so in terms of "minimum units" (stelloshis, perhaps), xtl will have 2.1 trillion...while btc has 12mill coins w/ 8 decimal places...which is 1.2x10^13 satoshis

I wouldn't really call it criminal. Theoretically everybody could improve some hardware to serve specific purposes (in this case mining). What exactly is criminal? Creating an information advantage for yourself or using knowledge advantage for yourself?

its more than irritating...its criminal....the only reason that they made them was to mine with them until someone figured out what was going on...once that happened, they knew algo would be changed and they could just sell them to suckers who wont even receive them until AFTER the algo change...they will be over-priced space heaters...that's it

and to those worrying about 21bill being too many coins, bear in mind that xtl only has 2 decimal places....so in terms of "minimum units" (stelloshis, perhaps), xtl will have 2.1 trillion...while btc has 12mill coins w/ 8 decimal places...which is 1.2x10^13 satoshis

I wouldn't really call it criminal. Theoretically everybody could improve some hardware to serve specific purposes (in this case mining). What exactly is criminal? Creating an information advantage for yourself or using knowledge advantage for yourself?

I agree it is not actually criminal because those who develop Asics are also going to lose their investments if the algorithm of a coin gets adjusted. That's what the discussion for Monero is about and it's going to be very expensive for the Asics producers Wink

it was hyperbole folks...not exactly criminal...but VERY VERY unethical to sell something to someone knowing that it will be useless by the time they receive it...and no, the asic dev will not lose their investment...they made profit by mining xmr secretly for months...and more money by then selling the used hardware to unsuspecting people

I think it will be great to have the network back in the hands of the "real" miners who know the value of what they are supporting rather than folks more interested in P&D schemes

I wouldn't say it's completely useless when received. There will still be Bytecoin and such which can still be mined with those ASICs.

Dev, how long till you switch algos? time to go asic resistant
3-4 days. Certainly before Monero. At the moment we are getting everything ready. The new algorithm is working well on test net.

Thanks dev... will be keeping an eye out here for the update... sooner the better! Love the project.

Hi everyone

We are getting our selfs ready for the upcoming Stellite (XTL) v3 hard fork @ block height 100800 (XTL variant of the Monero v7).

After some discussion with our community members we reached a consensus about the miner and wanted the fee/donation (for fireice-uk) to be a choice for everyone and no obligation. We have a miner ready for you guys with a 0%, 1% and 2% dev fee to chose from; XMR-stak-2.3.0

XMR-stak-2.3.0 will allow you to mine on the new as well as the old chain for seamless integration to the new algorithm
https://github.com/stellitequestion/xmr-stak/releases

XMRig 2.5.x will work too(start with --variant=1), for the other CN miners it's those devs who can tell you more about the algo support. We verified both XMRig-2.5.x and XMR-stak-2.3.0.

A new version of the wallet is available too and needs to be updated as well:
https://github.com/stellitecoin/Stellite/releases
https://github.com/stellitecoin/StelliteGUI/releases

Pool operators need to update their daemons too and can be found here:
https://github.com/stellitecoin/Stellite/releases/tag/1.2.3.0

Doesn't mean you can't try cracking it Wink
On another note, it might be using a free/libre license, so you might be able to do everything legally.

Hi Guys,

For the new CLI Wallet: Stellite v1.2.3.0 'Carbon v1'

Do we need to delete the blockchain from the ProgramData folder and let it resync from the start with the new version or is this not required?

Or can we just download the new CLI Wallet and import existing wallet from mnemonic seed for Stellite?
