BTC has some environmental pollution, which has a small impact on the environment, although compared to industrial pollution of similar value, bitcoin appears to be less harmful to the environment.

This is quite separate because Bitcoin does not have many practical applications. It just stops at the level of payment instruments only

Yes. It was created because Bitcoin wants to improve or change the system. Technologies are designed because it will help our lives more comfortable and convenient. But some people took advantage of technology and used it in wrong ways. Bitcoin would really help and change for the better. It is all up to us how we are going to use it for good.

A lot has been said about mining and about the electricity consumption of the activities related to bitcoin mining. However, I have thought of the alternatives and how other systems produce not just energy waste, but also plenty of useless work and "human waste".

To have a network that can ensure the completeness of transactions, the global accessibility and all the features that bitcoins, and many alts, have at the moment, would probable produce a huge carbon footprint. Just think of the VISA system or the banking system... the amount of people working on it, the waste of commuting to works, the infrastructure.

Thinking of all that, would you still say Bitcoin is bad for the environment?

In my own opinion, bitcoin ca be good for the environment. If the rich people from bitcoin help other people in environment or help to make the environment better it will be good. Many rich people from bitcoin help the environment to get better.

So if we go to more earth friendly ways of making electric power, we will have problem solved. Bitcoin farms do not need too much space, also that space around it could be used for producing electric power for that mining

I think there is no reason that bitcoin becomes bad to the environment. As a matter of fact it helps a lot of people in the invirinment to grow their knowledge and to improve their social life. It also helps to the unemployed people which can be a good job for them.

You are writing this question, but till now not so much people know about Bitcoin, and they don't have the opportunity to work with it. But technologies make profit to people to hear about Bitcoin and invest in it.

A lot of electricity is currently being used on maintaining fiats (printing, creating new designs, destroying old banknotes etc.) and banking system (money transfers, visa and mastercard servers). Bitcoin network needs to be secured by miners who use enormous amount of electricity in order to achieve the highest possible hashrate. However, it doesn't use as much as other systems.

Yes in a sense bitcoin does help preserve the environment. Imagine the factories and mining quarries that would be turned into fertile lands suitable for habitation of wild animals in case bitcoin would thrive. We may alleviate the damage of our carbon footprints by using the waste energy to something useful like a recycler.

Actually we can use the clean energy from wind , sun or water but people are not choosing them because to set up a system for those things are so complicated and cost.
Nuclear power could be a good one unless they're leaked from the factory, that will be dangerous for our lives.

I think that the main reason for bitcoin to be less popular in the future than other crypto-currencies is that it requires a significant amount of energy resources to maintain its network.

Well actually bitcoin has a lot to offer for the environment and they are really good. I really think that bitcoin is a big blessing for all of us. Bitcoin is very advantageous and beneficial so I must say that it is good. There's nothing wrong about the effect of bitcoin as of now and I hope it will continue for a long run.

yes bank use a lot plastic and its a waste and i do think bitcoin mining right now is consume too much electricity, there should be a development in hardware which could mine faster and eco- friendly with less consumption of power. But i believe we do save woods cause crypto never use paper at all cause all the things in crypto almost digital.
