I want to reply here even after so many answers because this is a wonderful topic.

What you are saying here is the actual state of affairs related to Bitcoin. What we need to pay more attention to is how the future can be when utilizing this technology for everyday transactions. I still believe that Bitcoin will NOT replace fiat currency, people will be able to choose what they want to use.

As soon as mining is finally over, all that electricity consumption will be reduced substantially. Problem is, a lot of machines will be dumped - But they can also be recycled. Then the truly green era of Bitcoin would start.

Also, as electric companies move to more clean energy sources the effect will be really impressive. However, citizens need to continue pushing for it to happen.

Bitcoin will soon reach the stage that its production will be carried out completely with the help of alternative energy sources. It seems to me that comparing the energy that is spent on bitcoin mining and the energy spent by a person in the office is somehow illogical

that bitcoin is not needed to be present in physical form (such as fiat money) that proves bitcoin does not need to spend paper and metal which of course will consume natural resources in the form of trees and metals. That is another point of bitcoin that is good for the environment,

A lot has been said about mining and about the electricity consumption of the activities related to bitcoin mining. However, I have thought of the alternatives and how other systems produce not just energy waste, but also plenty of useless work and "human waste".

To have a network that can ensure the completeness of transactions, the global accessibility and all the features that bitcoins, and many alts, have at the moment, would probable produce a huge carbon footprint. Just think of the VISA system or the banking system... the amount of people working on it, the waste of commuting to works, the infrastructure.

Thinking of all that, would you still say Bitcoin is bad for the environment?
Mining bitcoin may not create the environmental conditions around. Machines and computers create a lot of warmth. And warmth need somewhere to use, but where you ask. This is the question you need to think about to get an eco-friendly product from bitcoin mining.

I would not say that it's completely good for the environment but it does lesser harm than actual physical currency. For one, it does not require printing versus physical currency. What is used for printing. Papers, right? Where do papers come from? The trees!

Bitcoin does require a lot of electricity. But the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages. And besides, renewable energy can be utilize to minimize the negative effect of bitcoin into the environment.

The energy consumed for Bitcoin mining is small compared to traditional work. The pollution caused to the environment is very small. Tapping requires large amounts of electricity but the world has a large number of banks and their buildings are countless, if there is no bank, we can save all the electricity and can save the environment. Normal people will save bank fees and time because we can do it ourselves in seconds.

That's right, especially now that there are many environmentally friendly energy, such as using solar energy for example, all parties must have thought about this problem, that's why they always try to always improve the situation, with new findings

The traditional  bitcoin mining does waste a lot of resources, but with the current mining methods of other altcoins changing, the loss of resources is not as exaggerated as bitcoin. But its still good for the environment if ammended

Bitcoin will never affect the environment.but the process of having it like mining affects it because it uses high consumption on energy..

Then start finding or sourcing out an alternative source of electricity such as putting mining farm in an open field in which they can cater establishing a solar panel farm just to sustain their environmental source of electricity so that they will not have to use that much of their money paying for a large electricity bill to support the operating power for mining of Bitcoin. Also, there are already lots of sources that have already proven and tested in which I think thry can already afford to purchase for the reason that it is also for their own sake.

No i don't think so. Even without bitcoin the world is already changing to a compiter technology. Even the small children or even infant uses electricity for their gadgets. Bitcoin is just a part of this technology. Its the plastic waste that are causing harm to our environment.

At least it is more friendly than cash, electricity does not have a big adverse impact on the environment, while cash from paper
materials is made from wood-based materials and of course it's not good for the environment, with digital we save trees

It will be good for the environment if they will be having bitcoin because bitcoin is not just all about the money or profit that you can make with bitcoin because you can also take advantage of the technology called blockchain where you can implement it to have a faster and more AI based system that can help to make a better version of our environment.
