I think the silenilcing of any big news about bitcoin is not a sign that it has lost its popularity, I believe the media just believed the news had settled. Bitcoin would not be unpopular because it is the base of all altcoins. In order to buy other coins you firdt have to buy bitcoin. Bitcoin losing popularity? Let me tell you this: the drop makes it even more popular, because it creates more noise in the media, and more people want to figure out what it is and how it works. Remember, last year (in November) the price was only $4000s and it was a big deal at that time. Now it is $7000s and people still panic. I personally don't see any obstacle that will block the price hitting very very high in the nearest future!

Bitcoin losing its popularity? Well I do't think so, it just that every market has it down and ups, it still depend on the principles of market and demand. Aside from that it was recently that this trading community be known to other countries that-makes it still a hopes to everyone when it comes to financial power and stability. I think with the current rise of popularity of alt coins, a lot more people are now investing on good alt coins that are actually faster and cheaper than bitcoins. It is losing its popularity but bitcoins still step up the game as it makes its one of biggest come backs in 2018.
