Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

If Facebook bans ads about crypto, it doesn't really matter much for a good crypto currency if it has got good investor Base and product based, then there is nthng to worry. I would just hold and wait for long as good crypto would definitely reap some profits in the long run. I would suggest wait wait and reap profits

So maybe facebook fights crypto ads because it is very annoying to facebook users and many complain about it. Facebook is banning all ads that promote cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, in an effort to prevent people from advertising what the company is calling “financial products and services frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices.”

They will just ban ads about crypto and not the facebook page of the developers or the projects. I read about the statement of facebook and as I understand, they will ban ads that encourage people to use all their money or ads that offering suspicious or scammy investments. This must be good so that those scammy ICOs will afraid to advertise their projects.

This is very bad news for those looking for a gift from bounty facebook, maybe the Facebook owner assumes that the crypto ad is considered spam, but I think he's wrong, because with that ad came the person who understood about bitcoin and Blockchain technology, become reality.

I think the main reason for this move of Facebook is due to the fact that there has been a several advertisement in Facebook where in shitcoins are being plugged. Facebook wanted to disassociate itself from any form of fraud and scam related to the money gathering acts of this so called ICO's. Wherein you would see their values just pumping and dumping within the exchange market.

Facebook supports new products and services for the people without fear of scams. The alleged ICO scam by Arise bank which was cited on the article I've read was probably one of the reason why facebook totally banned the ads promoting cryptocurrency. It's a sad news because this kind of incident would create a negative publicity. But on the other side it will minimize the company who are not operating in "Good faith". Despite of this incident I am still confident with the opportunities bitcoin can offer.

I've heard news and blogs talking about Facebook banning all crypto ads, well it doesn't affect some sectors of the crypto network like trading and mining but for the ico it has a huge effect on them.

Facebook is a private company and platform, so they can do what they want. Possibly they are trying to avoid liability, given that they could be accused of facilitating fraud for profit.

Tbh, banning those ads are for better good. There are just way too many ads that are trying to lead average people into scam. Most people on Facebook are either new to cryptocurrency or know nothing about it, those who are experienced know the legitimacy of those ads on Facebook, so the ban should be able to prevent more people thinking the entire cryptocurrency is a scam.

Yes we are all aware of that matter, facebook may be one of the good channel for crypto currencies but i dont think it would be a very bad news for us,Besides there are many sites and other channel for promoting it or for letting others know about it e.g. twitter, telegram, this forum, online sites and etc.

Facebook is banning cryptocurrencies related ads because os security purposes and to avoid supporting scam ICO projects. There are many people getting affected because of this reason which is why facebook has banned these ads. Besides that it really doesn't matter much because the only people who will be affected by this will be the ones who intend to create scam ICOs and the bounty hunters. The bounty hunters could even earn tokens from other media so it doesn't really affect the crypto community. So consider it as a positive news.

I think the main reason is the number of critics against crypto currency they trying to break down the crypto currency until it's value price turn to ZERO value they also manipulate the price of bitcoin or altcoin. And the government of other countries don't like the crypto currency probably will have their economy affected by it, so the government itself acts to break the crypto currency. Perhaps the owner of the facebook has been careful so it prohibits ads about crypto currency like bitcoin.

But some days ago I follow a project Facebook page has gone to disabled.  Before 1 week I was seen a Facebook page which was disabled.
Why that was done?
I think all crypto type page/ico are banned by Facebook.
and now going down price value of all alt coin.
Facebook is a big platform for this.

Facebook is simply banning the advertising of ICO, and not banning the cryptocurrency markets..
Because there are too many fraudulent ICO projects now, it is normal for facebook to ban the ads.

Let the dip take as much time as it wishes to because that way more investors will get indulge into this business and definitely, when the number of investors increase, the price of bitcoin also shoots up.  Dip holds same importance that pumps do.

It is the opportunity to accumulate further coins. By the way, a lot of rumors are circulating in the air about Facebook harming bitcoin one way or the other. Something must be going on behind the scenes.

Guys I'm engaged in bounty! Last week I see constant blockages of my reposts! Those groups where they run through the words in crypto jargon, they tag for themselves. People who want to spread their words can not make a repost - there is a lockout! And it's not just me, my acquaintances too! Facebook just wants to advertise all the advertisements!

We are cryto lover people, but why Facebook did that? What's the man reason?
Main reason is to avoid facebook being used by scammers to scam people who actually don't have enough knowledge about cryptos. It would definitely help to avoid the reputation of cryptos getting spoiled.Even very soon, twitter may also take such actions as ads of scam projects are popping out every where.

No, its only slowing bitcoin adoption because the news about bitcoin will spread less. But not stop it. We as bitcoin holders are not really get the impact from this condition. Its just the price that litle bit fall further.but its part of volatility. Bitcoin price will rise again. Just wait longer.

Sepertinya sudah waktunya, kalau menurut saya lebih baik lump sum sekarang. 30/01/2024.

I also heard it but since i am still seeing promotions of airdrops and bounties so i dont really know which kind of advertisements did they ban. There are still communities out there in Facebook that are posting updates on their ICOs so i’m wondering what did Mark Zuckerberg ban exactly or he just want money for all those free advertisements?

I think it was a right decision. I dont believe that facebook is a platform to promote coins or ICO. BTCTalk is the best placeto promote. So people can find out which project is scam here easily but not in facebook.

Yes, this is very bad news for every crypto hodler. Where some big countries are banning bitcoin, that time Facebook has banned crypto, ico ads.
But I think if bitcoin will rise again then Facebook can be accepted ico ads again.  Let's see what happen. But do not need to panic, Bitcoin will make you rich for sure.

They did this, because alot of scam projects are popping out everyday and they are being advertised on facebook.People got scammed and compalined about it to Facebook.
Since Facebook can't make the difference between a good porject and a bad one, they just banned everything (ponzis, hyips, scam coins etc..)
And I agree with them to be honest.Alot of people still don't know about crypto and they get scammed that will make them hate cryptocurrency.

Yes, this is very bad news for every crypto hodler.

What is bad in banning the ads? Do you ever use them? Do you click on them? I am actually afraid of clicking on those adds as I could get some malware..... they are also very annoying.

Of course that a smart developer would ban something that is potentially full of viruses (scam coins can advertise in the same ways as legit coins). I am sure that he will bring them back as soon as the market will be regulated. But as of our concern, he doesn't have to - those ads are totally unimportant. The only important thing is that people are panicking without any reason.

Oh yes, and maybe Mark also wants to buy some Bitcoins so he is deliberately creating FUD to push the price down. I wouldn't be so surprised. Good for us. Discounts for grabs!

This has been in circulation for quite a while now. I think the reality of this move is not really to ban crypto ads. I think Facebook is just trying to get rid of those non-sense postings that flood their system. Unfortunately, there are many campaign joiners that post just about anything just to have a counted posting, thus, it floods the system with unwanted and unhelpful postings that don't even amount to a decent marketing content. Also, if Facebook would do that, that would decreased the traffic and the money they get from marketing different products.

This is not a big deal in my opinion.  Personally I've gotten sick of facebook and use it less and less but when I am on..I don't see how this will be a very big deal.  When I log in to facebook I see about 20% friends and family stuff and 80% articles from the pages that I like.  I "like" quite a few financial pages so all that I see are Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency related posts from these outlets.  I can't remember ever seeing anything Bitcoin or cryptocurrency related in terms of ads. Bitcoin is such a hot topic even those whom don't follow any sort of financial page are still likely to pick up news via some other outlet. The point here is people are often still seeing a lot from Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency even if ads have been disabled.

It's possible this is also short term.  Youtube was actually allowing ads from Bitconnect (well known Ponzi) for some time, and coupled with Russian election ads..facebook looks to just being a little extra cautious right now.  I hope at least.

I think the reason behind why facebook had banned all the advertisements regarding bitcoin is because they are protecting bitcoin from the hackers. Think of it, if facebook users click the advertisemens that will lead them to phishings sites.and it asks for the their personal information what do you think will happen? So, I think it is the reason of facebook.

I have also heard that Mark Zuckerberg doesnt likematter facebook ads relayed to crypto and icos and he banned them. It could be real because there was a period when people where spamming with ICO ads on facebook wich was kind of annoying for the users. Of course this is going to affect cryptos and their prices because facebook is one of the biggest platform where you can promote anything because millions of people use it everyday. But still there are a lot of other ways to promote you ICO through the internet and this is not going toto affect a lot cryptos

Yeah i guess but i dont really think in my opinion the ads is paying them and they could have a great profit in displaying ads of the company and whey so im thinking maybe they wanted their own. Irtusl currency or thr fscebook is paid to banne the ads for real and i guess also maybe cryptocurrency could affect the facebook in aspects.

On the off chance that Facebook bans advertisements about crypto, it doesn't generally make a difference much for a decent digital money in the event that it has got great financial specialist Base and item based, at that point there is nthng to stress. I would simply hold and sit tight for long as great crypto would harvest a few benefits over the long haul. I would propose hold up pause and procure benefits

As far as I know advertisers of cryptocurrency ICOs and other companies are still showcasing their tokens in facebook. Maybe facebook has blocked some form of the advertising or people are bypassing the targeted members to provide different interests for their customers.

Shocked So is this news absolutely true? or just a "maybe" news? Because I still see advertisements of token sales on facebook all the time.

if this news is true, then that sucks for actual startups and token sales that are actually legit and want to build a better future for crypto. But I guess since there are scams out there, and since facebook has no way to differentiate between which ones are good or bad.. Then it's safer for them to just block all of them. Still sucks though.

it's really hard to tell the legit from the scammers and those that believe they are legit but wouldn't be able to deliver on their promises and can't really solve the problems they want to solve in the first place. most ico's haven't delivered on their timelines and have no working product to show except for a whitepaper and animation video

I still do not think it is a good policy. There should be a provision for submitting legit documents so that the startups can prove that they are doing legitimate business not scams.

This is a bad news and it'll be very bad if other networks also try to follow facebook. We saw most popular brand had an interest about crypto in fast years (even Microsoft), but, we feel something annoying today. High level of Scams, that's the first reason behind what we're experiencing today. So, this is a problem of Bitcoins community itself.

I think that is because of the high number of scammers utilising their platform. So for them to be in tge safer side (they want to protect thier image), they won't allow the adds. The fact is that, it is very difficult to tell whether a project is scam- that is why many countries have started strict regulations on crypto (anyways that will affect our activities, but it will also help in some way only if it is effective)

Facebook ban on Crypto ads is a statement, a very loud one at that. Those ads were never effective to begin with, people rarely click them, nevertheless its quite surprising that Facebook would take such step.

If you ask me something that should've been done a long time ago. That facebook was full with spammers that advertise all sorts of ponzi schemes, doubling bitcoin scam sites, online mining, and many other things. They spam so much that you can`t follow anything if you have bitcoin related friends. And don`t forget that facebook earns money from advertising, why would they allow people to do that without paying them, and at the same time they are bothering other people with their spamming!? If new ico team wish to have an add on facebook they will need to pay for that directly to facebook.

The facebook is very good source of advertisements ,and there are many companies which are very interested in crypto ,but it is sad to say thst when an organization will rise up to its popularity like bitcoins and other cryptocurrency ,there are group of peoples who uses their knowledge trying to break or ride to bitcoin popularity through spamming ,scamming this is what happen to crypto ,ICOs ,bitcoins related ads being ban by facebook.

no doubt that its a bad news but i think nothing will happen to bitcoin because before facebook bitcoin was already famous and popular around the world so a lot of people they know about bitcoin already and there are a lot of other sources to do advertisement of bitcoin but its also a fact that bitcoin is a rich currency and it can pay to facebook for ads .

this could be the cause of people unsure of crypto currency. the usefulness of advertising on facebook to spread information about crypto, whereas now crypto currency ads have been banned by facebook, this could hamper the development of crypto currency around the world.

I want to read the news which you read, I think you should copy the link of that news so we believe that facebook will be ban all ads about Blockchain. In my mind, if facebook will be ban all Blockchain ads, so bounty hunters will be confused because one of their place to earn imcome are lost, Because most of the project we do it via facebook and twitter.

This is the first time I've heard about this news. Although bitcoin can become popular already even without facebook ads. But facebook banning bitcoin may have an impact. But you can see bitcoin ads everywhere, not just in facebook. The banning of faceboook may only have a small impact.

haha. Are you afraid? No you don't. Crytocurrency can survive without the help of. facebook. The success of Cryptocurrency is always dependent from facebook and don't you know that we are in the time of changing the cycle of the world system from the traditional way. So no need to worry about it. Facebook can be possibly lost its importance from all facebook lover but cryptocurrency will never experience that, because it is what the world really need for the greater change.

Facebook has a new advertising policy pertaining to cryptocurrency, binary options and initial coin offerings. The policy specifically prohibits ads that promote those types of products and services “that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive practices". Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum, and initial coin offerings have all hit the mainstream, which has promptly resulted in a number of scams. Over time, Facebook says it will revisit the policy and its enforcement mechanisms as its signals improve. In the meantime, Facebook is encouraging people to report content that violates this policy.

First, Bitcoin was a crypto that do not give profit to any popular organization and government. Facebook maybe see bitcoin campaign and ads annoying and maybe other users report ads about bitcoin. Facebook only set their pre-cautionary measures and all of that are reasonable.

for several reasons, the outcome will help Bitcoin in a great way. Especially, common people would have less scope to expose to scams. Also, social media influences have some negative effect on almost everything.

Bitcoin doesn't need commercials to introduce itself anymore. If eighty percent of people in the streets have an idea about bitcoin there's no need to ads. Anyway any web site can ban everything about cryptocurrencies, it doesn't matter. Bitcoin will live long long time!

I also read this news from official sources, it says that it is impossible to use phrases such as bitcoin, iso in the crypto currency advertisements. And the answer to the question why they decided to ban it, I will answer: too many companies are engaged in fraud and deceive ordinary citizens! and want to advertise ico paid!

I think that would also affect cryptocurrency since most of the ICO or projects in the Cryptocurrency world uses social media to advertise and spread its name to potential investors. That could affect the fund raising campaign of new ICO's since most of their investors only knew about it using social media such as facebook.

For me If Facebook company will do that and we don't have a choice because they own that site and we respect that.We don't get worried as long as many sites for compaigns was supportive to our daily activities as a bounty hunter. But I hope they would change their mind and negotiate to considered again as what of us because our intention is good and that is to help every bitcoiners people to become millionaire in the futuer. This is not only for the good of cryptocurrency but on how we really grow because of income we can get for this event.

Probably because it was a way to avoid those scam ICOs. In my own way of understanding it, it is for the best that they forbid the advertising of cryptocurrency in Facebook for the greater good. In some case, if Facebook continued to allow advertising in their social platform, it would lead to having their reputation destroyed.

As per the product management of facebook, the main reason for banning crypto-currency and binary option related advertising and other marketing campaign is misleading or deceptive projects which creates unfaith among facebook users. Currently hundreds of scams are spreading over the facebook and other social networks and facebook management wants to stop those by banning this kind of activities.

Most of them are fraudulent and i laud facebook for banning the ads for the ICO's because they are inadvertently helping those ICO's to dupe a lot of people and even the SEC are also going to crackdown on ICO's as well.

Facebook as stated in the same release that it wants people to continue to discover and learn about cryptocurrencies, it further stated that there are companies that are not operating legitimate binary options and there lies its issue, this release is obviously a knee jerk reaction from an ongoing investigation into another issue ,  where it was found culpable and shown to have benefited financially from some advertisements that were ran on its site. This is just a reaction in my opinion to try and protect itself should anyone decide to enter into the crypto realm and don't do any checks and balances and end up being fleeced and would have clicked on one of those ads. Facebook is obviously a fan of the crypto world but it makes sense to protect your company from litigation should such a situation arise.

There are still crypto ads on facebook not totally ban maybe other crypto are because other advertisers making an ads to facebook to scam other investors and making a phishing websites like Exchange platforms website, Be careful clicking ads on facebook i think that's the reason why facebook banned other crypto ads and other ICO scams are spreading now on facebook.

Such a bad news for all crypto projects. I don't know why Facebook banned all crypto ads where I heard that Mark Zuckerberg was planning to join in cryptocurrencies. Whatever, In my view, I think If bitcoin will reach 30k USD or more then everyone will add bitcoin to their platform include facebook. That time everyone will praise bitcoin who are telling bad words now  Grin

Wait, so you mean to say a company that actually wants cryptocurrency doesn't want cryptocurrency ads on their sites? That's just absurd. For a social media company that promotes sharing of ideas, I thought they wanted this? Oh well, not really a loss, in my opinion. Cryptocurrency will always find a way to sprout even without social media advertisements.

Crypto doesn't need Facebook. If Facebook goes over the board, then we can shift to other social media outlets such as Reddit, Twitter and Instagram. And in future, I am sure that Facebook will regret about this. But I am a member of several Facebook groups which deal with crypto, and I don't think that there is any immediate threat.

Mark Zuckerburg is doing the opposite when he had just informed us that he is studying cryptocurrency. I have a feeling that maybe he want to establish a good image of crypto because he said that it's a risky investment and he must be  making his own alt that has credibility.

I just seen an ad on an alt coin crypto today on FB. So I don't believe they are blocking every crypto ad.. Just a select few, like the ones that sound like a sales pitch trying to sell crapcoins. When there is something good that comes, there is always scams that follow. This is sad, but true. It's sucks for the good guys who actually are trying to make something good for the crypto community...

Don't know how to feel about this. On one side it will be harder for crypto to go mainstream but on the other side i like the idea of 'filtering the bad money'. When i say bad money, I mean people who invest just because there was a shiny add beside their beloved friend list, and cause panic and havoc when cryptos do what they have always done... being volitile.

I think what you heard is incorrect. What you heard maybe some sort of misleading or "fake news" intentionally made and broadcasted by Bitcoin hater. One example is a news published by Fortune.com that says and I quote,

Quote
Facebook Inc. is banning ads on its social network that promote cryptocurrencies, initial coin offerings and binary options, saying they’re “frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices.”

Take note of the bolded portion which is misleading and totally different from the image below that says, “that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive practices”, they're has a different meaning from that are.

It is a good thing that they ban ads. In reality millions of people threw money at scams and lost it all because of these ads. Facebook is a really bad place to on board new people into cryptocurrency. I am sure a ton of people bought bitconnect and thought they are "investing in bitcoin".

I would prefer new people come into the ecosystem via word of mouth where it would usually be someone they know who can show them the way. We should consider the damage these scams did to the name of cryptocurrency. Most people are used to regulated markets and think things are legit if it has an ad on facebook or google.
It is a pretty big shift in mindset to actually take ownership of your own funds, take responsibility for storage of your funds and do your own research.

I think a new person googling around a bit would quickly find this forum as a place to ask all their questions. Which is much better than clicking on some ad that promises 1000x for some new unnecessary cryptocurrency

Maybe facebook just want to get rid of scam project or icos that are promoted to their platform. We all know that there are many scammers that are using facebook to find their target and once they get it they will just rename their facebook or create a new one but if it ever happens i think it will have an impact in promoting crypto ads.

Sudden I hair a news that Facebook banning All crypto ads. If that's true,  Will  be negative for our Loving Bitcoin (all over crypto)?
I also see a News.

We are cryto lover people, but why Facebook did that? What's the man reason?

Maybe that depends on the country where you live. I can still see a lot of crypto on my facebook without any problem. They cannot ban crypto news on facebook, there are far too many user on facebook and they can share anything crypto-related in their account. Banning it is impossible.

Movies and other videos that are illegal are freely circulating on facebook, I think the team will find it hard on monitoring bitcoin and crypto banning.

I would understand them wanting to protect users from possible scam (with so many ICO it is easy to get carried away, and if you are not familiar with crypto currencies it is risky). However, I was convinced FB ads were targeted ads, since all the ads I see are related to my last searches (ie. if I am looking at booking a plane ticket I get ads and "deals" to that location, if I did a Google search on cryptocurrencies I start getting ads for upcoming ICOs, etc.), so I think it is a bit pointless to ban them entirely as the common user will more likely not get them.

I thought I'm the only one who's thinking and seeing this. I don't know if facebook is telling the fact before when it was announced, I have seen a lot of crypto ads(ICO).
But for this time, I think they are all gone since last week.

i dont know they have officially started doing that. i just usually notice which makes me avoid carrying some facebook campaigns. Its tiring when they have to keep flagging down your posts as Spam all the time.   Now that they have decided to be banning it.. i guess Mark is not a big fan of the Crypto World. He's definitely gonna have a motive for doing that.

It's a shame really, the ICO's overdid it a lot.  I always used adblock so never noticed much but when I found out on a friends computer I was shocked af. How can it be?

Still a shame, a lot of people joined crypto thanks to Facebook. Then again, most ads were targeted to those who already had crypto

Facebook has said it will block any advertising promoting crypto-currency products and services. That means no advertiser — even those that manipulate legal, genuine businesses — will be able to promote things like bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, initial coin offerings — ICOs for short — or binary options, according to a Facebook blog post. Ads that disobey the company’s new platform will be banned on Facebook’s core app, but also in other places where Facebook sells ads, including Instagram and its ad network, Audience Network, which places ads on third-party apps.

They say  Facebook is banning all ads that promote cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, in an effort to prevent people from advertising what the company is calling “financial products and services frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices.”I dont believed  that because every five post is about crypto.

I'm still seeing numerous of ads in facebook promiting their Ico. Yes one of a strategy though but hope it will lifted and allowed it in social media. Because this is also way to attract investors to know more about cryptocurrency.

Facebook banning all cryptocurrency related ads is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, this will protect the common layperson with no knowledge from ico scams and phishing sites. However, it will also deter the development of reputable and legit startups and possibly inhibit the mainstream adoption of Bitcoin and altcoins, not to mention the loss for bounties. Facebook banning all of it in such a fashion also send a negative message about cryptocurrency as a whole... This will have far greater reaching implications than anyone of us can foresee at this time.

I think it is a good thing that Facebook banned cryptocurrency ads. In my opinion, 90% of ICOs are scams and they are raising money to profit. Even a 12 year old can copy and paste the code and claim that it is an ICO. I am happy that facebook took care of people not familiar with this market and that they are protected from scammy ads.

Facebook is only trying to protect the interest of its users, they don't want any kind of ICO to come and scam people on their platform. With respect to the information Facebook released on banning of ICO Advertisement on Facebook, Facebook has mandated all ICO to re-create a new facebook account which it will be verified by facebook before it will be allowed

According to the new rules for advertising the world's largest social network Facebook, users will no longer be able to advertise ICO and crypto-currency, including bitcoin. As stated in the message, the company's two key principles regarding advertising are that ads must be reliable and win people's trust. In this regard, notes on Facebook, there is no place for misleading or deceptive ads in this social network.
The company added that it wants Facebook users to learn about new products and services without fear of becoming a victim of scammers. At the same time, many organizations that deal with the activities listed above are not acting well.

This is a legal move to protect themselves from lawsuits since people rarely put the blame where it should be which is squarely on themselves for investing in the first place. Its easier to blame someone else than admit your own mistakes.

It is good for Facebook to prohibit the advertisement of bitcoin or the promotion of cryptographic ads, because it can protect other Facebook users from things that are not desirable, but beside facebook prohibit advertising it should be a solution that can be accepted by users who really need Facebook as a medium of advertising, specifically advertising or how it is important there is still land for the promos.

Both Facebook and Google have banned all crypto ads! And, what is interesting, there is one businessman in Russia who decided to file a lawsuit on this decision. His name is Vladimir Orehov and his business is closely linked with financial crypto operations. His financial claims are about 35 million dollars!

it is probably a good thing considering with all the scams in crypto going on
many of those scams pry on social media to show a fake business

seems not for crypto but any industry in general, the ads you get in Facebook are some what sketchy to begin with

in general with crypto is more about you going to them if you want to invest or get involved
no one should be coming to you. with it

as some say the crypto industry should regulate itself

considering Zuckerberg wants to get a crypto coin later for FB
this could be consider the industry regulating itself

your thoughts ?
but does this make sense?

I always see some advertisements about ICO projects on Facebook. People take part in different bounty campaigns and repost them. It's a huge question how Facebook can forbid that.

Facebook has banned advertising ICO and cryptocurrency projects through the official advertising platform on facebook, but it does not apply to you as a user who makes reposting the post of an ICO project. Now Twitter also said that in the near future it is planned to block advertising on their site, but most likely it will not affect ordinary users who post on their walls information about ICO and cryptocurrencies. Although, I think, you need to be careful not to abuse a lot of reposts, because there are cases of Facebook blocking the account without explanation of reasons and it's not clear for ICO advertising or for other reason blocked.

Facebook banned all commercials Crypto? Why? There are now a lot of fraudulent ICO projects that people have been looking for on Facebook for a long time. Because of the loss of prestige, Facebook has banned all Crypto ads. It is understandable.
I do not think that they have banned bitcoin and i even do do not think that it may be ever possible, because facebook is getting a very good money their advertisement, and seconly there is nothing wrong in bitcoin trading or invest ment, or even using bitcoin for difffernt purposes. I think that as time pass bitcoin will become more popur an every channel will adverting bitcoin.

Sudden I hair a news that Facebook banning All crypto ads. If that's true,  Will  be negative for our Loving Bitcoin (all over crypto)?
I also see a News.

We are cryto lover people, but why Facebook did that? What's the man reason?

The guys from Facebook themselves want to release their cryptocurrency.  Why would they want to support their competitors? it is better to prohibit advertising and their competitors immediately lose one of the sources of advertising.

Facebook will block crypto at its own demise.  Twitter is an open platform, where one can promote anything.  Also blockchain social media networks developing such as Narrative.network and steemit.com.

I experienced working on Facebook campaign, then suddenly it stopped because of the issue that Facebook banned all crypto ads and indeed, it is banned. I just wonder why there are some ICOs that still can use Facebook for ICOs advertising and endorsing. The banning of ICOs advertising on Facebook is not fully banned I think.

I think they are doing good work but in Actual that information is pending that you listen , many Rumours are coming in these days with cryptourrency ads ban by Google soon , but in actual they are not going to ban all the cryptocurrency ads , they will not promote ICOs , trading and investment projects ads only and before to advertise any site about cryptourrency related , they will double check if site is guinine or not .
And also here we can see that at one side Facebook is saying that they are banning ICOs ads but I don't think that they are doing Because I am seeing Daily about a particular ICO that is running in my timeline of Facebook .
So don't think it is in negative but we should consider it as a good thing for us in this field of cryptourrency .

That means that Facebook is having their own development strategy for the cryptocurrency market. I really do not believe in the ICO banning news from Facebook, Google and lately Twitter. The great advertising revenue from the ICO projects I think these big corporations will never refuse so they are planning to do so.

Not only facebook prohibits Bitcoin ads, Google is also starting to ban the promotion of Crypto, some countries are banned Bitcoin. When bitcoin was born, it created many jobs for many, helping many people to become rich quick. Today, Bitcoin has grown at a rapid pace, the government has been involved. I think in the future Bitcoin may be very difficult for investors.

facebook banning crypto ads didnt come as a surprise to me. i believe it is another move by government to stop crypto currency. they see it as a threat to fiat currency which they the government have controlled for so long making excess of cash from it. so they are trying all they can from all angles to fight cryptocurrency and facebook banning all ads is just another step they have decided to take

Yes, right now, for some reason, there is such a trend in the most sold and crowded media system as facebook banyat bitcoin and many bounties face it and not only simple amateurs can tell about bitcoin about it, it's insulting.

Yes it is true, Facebook's social media now no longer supports marketing cryptocurency projects, probably because many issues say that if Bitcoin will be blocked from the peredaraan but I think it will not be that easy, only now there is still an issue that mentions such a thing.

the reason behind banning seemed logical to me in one point of view because so many people invest there because they see something in ads without any search and when they lose money they may blame facebook, unfortunately we as people don`t take responsibility for our fails.

We cant control the media and other social forms to still display and advertise the growth of bitcoin but atleast it has made a mark on to bitcoins popularity.
I don’t think so there is any need of banning bitcoin ads anywhere because this is not doing any harm to the community rather playing a good role in the promotion of bitcoin which is better for the growth of bitcoin community and price. Facebook should reconsider it if they are really going against bitcoin because it is one of the most used social sites and it really affects the promotion of bitcoin.

Facebook ads are sometimes misleading people especially to those who are new to crypto currency. In my point of view crypto ads is unreliable since there too many people seeing it in Facebook and some scam crypto are trying to lure people to invest in their platform which is not in existence. Maybe crypto promoted by reliable personality is a good way to determine whether it's a fake or not.

After Facebook prohibited the advertising of crypto-currency projects, it was followed by Google.
According to available information, Twitter plans to ban advertising crypto currency.
In my opinion, this does not negatively affect the value of crypto coins, and will benefit bounty hunters.
ICO projects will allocate more funds for bounty campaigns on Facebook and Twitter.

One more big social media plattform who is banning advertising for CryptoCurrencies. I dont like these way the social media plattforms going against cryptocurrencies. I think those advertising are really important to find new investors for cryptos. Because you see what happend the last weeks. We need immediately more new ivestors, before the crash goes on. So i really hope that not more advertising and social media plattforms will continue to bann commercial for cryptos. Or ICO needs to make Television commercials Grin

The reasons that prompted the administration of Facebook to take the path of counteraction to crypto-currencies are simple. This market is flooded with various kinds of scammers and while state authorities are trying to somehow regulate the crypto business, the owners of large search engines and, as we see, now also social networks, operate by their own methods, it's good not to ask or coordinate anything.

I don't see any reason that Facebook's ban on cryptocurrency and ICO advertising will have a negative impact on the cryptocurrency market.
Moreover, Facebook has its own problems related to Cambridge Analytica and capitalization of the social network fell by 60 billion dollars.
Crypto-currencies will be "advertised" in Facebook groups and pages. Everything will remain the same.

On the off probability that Facebook bans advertisements regarding crypto, it does not typically create a distinction a lot of for a good digital cash within the event that it's got nice monetary specialist Base and item based mostly, at that time there's nthng to fret. i'd merely hold and rest for long as nice crypto would harvest many edges over the long-standing time. i'd propose impediment pause and procure edges

Maybe the trend continues for big social medias to take things down, slowly maybe medium or any other blogging sites? Still i understand its a side effect of the raging icos and falsify information spread along the market like that brings more negativity that rewards for the involvers, facebook i don't think its a big impact as i dont see any video advertisment of crypto that much comparing things like google ads, still it would be a challenge for true investor to dig into coins that truly have potential

There may be many reasons:
1. FBI, CIA ...
2. Lack of control
3. Lack of legislative base,
I think that this is rather a pause than a ban forever.

I agree with your opinion, if facebook forbid to share ads about ICO there are still other social media as a medium for advertising. There are various kinds of social media, from various social media that bounty managers can still use for the sake of the project or others related to the interests of ICO.

The decision of facebook, twitter or google not to advertise crypto ads will not have any effect on cryptocurrencies. The use of these medias are just for advertisement sake and bitcoins and altoins that are already established don't need facebook or any social media to make it grow.

I do not understand the positioning of Facebook, Google and Twitter. There is a lot of misleading advertising on these platforms and they do nothing. However, they decided to attack the ICOs as if they were the only problem

It's been a lot of social media that started blocking bitcoin for the reason they are unmatched and should not be by the local government. Due to the fact that bitcoin is becoming more popular and may be said that people are getting jealous of bitcoin. But I also do not know the reason why facebook blocking bitcoin. Perhaps it was for the reason that at that time the facebok was called by the government. And maybe it's because facebook blocking crypto ads maybe that's one reason.

If this is really true, this will really be a smite for cryptocurrencies since google is also banning ads. Then I guess crypto market should find new platforms to promote ICOs and post ads. You really can't blame facebook on banning crypto ads, they just want to protect the company's name ang enhance security. But I guess, this will all be temporary, as cryptos are getting popularity, facebook will go into it and study the possibility of bringing back posting ads by cryptocurrencies.

news is not good for me or maybe for those who jump in cryptocurrency. maybe the person you are referring to is that the ad's content is related to misleading promotional practices.
Facebook is taking this prohibition step to prevent irresponsible people from spreading products and financial services whose credibility is questionable.

indeed facebook was banning crypto advertisement, but look at now. cryptocurrency has already recovered from the bear market.
i guess the banning of crypto ads was not the reason for the falling price of cryptocurrency.

Facebooks is one way of promoting bitcoins and other altcoins in world. If that is really true that gives a negative effect on bitcoin. But if that's the case, maybe there is a big reason why the Facebook is banning it. So we just need to understand them and maybe in the process they will accept bitcoin and other altcoins in the long-run.

Well,  I actually upset why facebook did that. I mean you know facebook was the social media with the largest users ever,  everyone use facebook even my grandma. It's mean it will be easy to the people entering crypto world with those kinda ads from facebook. But anyway I think there is some missed agreement between them.

I see no ads of cryptos in FB. At all. Is it good or bad? I think that those who want to jump to crypto market = will do it anyway because this topic is discussed a lot on different platforms and it`s no problem to find information. The problem is to find a relevant and reliable information because there`s too much info about it.

Yes, you heard right and Facebook is revoking Crypto related pages also! I do not know why they are doing this. Even I heard a rumor that Facebook CEO Zuckerberg is going to join in cryptocurrency and then the official news had come that facebook will ban crypto ads! Don't know what happened in that time.

But I think bitcoin or crypto already overcome the effect of facebook ads ban. Because it's May 2018now and market is going to stable.

If this true then it's not fully implemented yet coz  I'm still seeing in FB ICO ads like COTI and UBanx and other.

Anyways, I think with twitter, reddit and telegram around FB banning crypto ads will just be like a scratch on the project but I honestly think there should be some kind of regulation for ICO to stop scam and stop tarnishing credibility of other cryptocurrency.

Reality is the only thing that is real.

it is very annoying to facebook users and many complain about it. Facebook is banning all ads that promote cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, in an effort to prevent people from advertising what the company is calling financial products and services frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices...

prohibiting those advertisements are for better great. There are simply much an excessive number of promotions that are endeavoring to lead normal individuals into trick. A great many people on Facebook are either new to cryptographic money or know nothing about it, the individuals who are experienced know the authenticity of those promotions on Facebook, so the boycott ought to have the capacity to avert more individuals thinking the whole digital money is a trick

I guess facebook banning crypto ads is just a joke. I can still see advertising of ICO's in facebook and recently I also posted different links pertaining to websites who uses cryptocurrency and still it is successful. I guess facebook is very strict on spam posts rather than banning crypto ads. As long as you dont spam you can actually posts links of ICO's and crypto related websites.

This is one of bad news and this could make the panic of bitcoin users so the price drop, but I'm sure that in the long run this will not be too influential, and in fact we can see that now bitcoin prices close to $ 10,000.

Exactly, although this is adversely affecting the development and spread of bitcoin but facebook is forced to do that, we should not have negative thoughts about them, they just want the things that are best for the user. The pitfalls on facebook are too much, instead of letting the user fall into the trap, facebook has helped people remove that danger, furthermore, at a certain angle, facebook help limit bad news about phishing in crypto and Bitcoin, and when the internet has only good information about crypto and bitcoin, the development will be accelerated

i don't think this is a question of cryptocurrency . some crooks posted fake ICO ads on facebook . it received many complaints from users . this may be the real reason .

Nahh, this will not matter anyway. They’re just ads. They did not ban bitcoin or use facebook as a medium for bitcoin. This is another opportunity for us to further encourage other people to join our community ourselves. The more the merrier right? The rule of bitcoin is to keep everything moving, and we’re still doing that regardless of what happened.

Well if Facebook organization can do this and that we haven't got a choice since they possess that website and that we regard that. we do not get stressed as long constant range of destinations for crusades was steady to our day by day exercises as associate degree abundance hunter. however I trust they might alter their opinion and consult to thought of once more as what folks on the grounds that our aim is nice which is to change every bit coiners to people to finally end up top executive anon. this is not only for the good thing about digital currency but on however we tend to actually develop as a results of pay we will get for this occasion.

I am quite aware that facebook has banned all crypto ads but this is as far as I have heard. if ads are still going on people are using the same channels to make their work or project known to millions of people. that said I think it was just a ploy to slow down the crypto climb and influence.

It's not just the Facebook but some other giants have blocked crypto related ads too because it was discovered that scammers are using these platforms to execute their scams using crypto as a shell to collect money. Many people lost their money is such scams and as a user, they were disappointed with Facebook and other sites for allowing scammers to use their ad platform. Thus, they banned all ICO related ads but I am still expecting matured and strict policies regarding crypto ads, banning is not a solution.

I have the following thoughts:
The public is probably better off with the advertising bans in place. The only people who should really complain are the ones who are running scammy ICO's and aren't able to scam people out of their money as easily.
uBlock Origin & FB Purity.Who sees ads anyway?

If you want to delete Facebook,I won't argue.I just don't see why it has to be a reaction to them banning useless advertising. If you want to delete the site from your life,do it because of a dozen other valid reasons.

Does anyone really know about this? what is the real situation?

Facebook ads mean the ads we have to pay for right? Social media page posts does not count as ads, so this decision has no connection to bounties, we are sharing and/or making posts from social media pages or about an ICO we don't do paid ads.

There are lot of ICO's that get scammed, so it's good thing if FB stoping paid ad service to prevent promoting such projects..

But there's no actual information about the real situation, Did they already ban those paid ads or not?

What facebook is banning is ICO ads and thats actually a good news for the crypto industry as most of the ICO ads running on facebook and other social medias are nothing but scams. Also there is pressure on facebook from government agencies to crackdown on crypto related stuff and promotions.

This is not the most pleasant news, as bitcoin as a developing currency needs to be popularized. But on the other hand, it would be much worse if the whole country banned the use of bitcoin. And so, it's just a social network.

Facebook has always disliked the encrypted money ads, and it's easy to fool old people who don't understand them.

But I am still very optimistic about the future of cryptocurrency. Look at the price after six months.

I m not concerned much with crypto ads banning on Facebook as I am concerned only with the crypto as long as it delivers a good product and we can hold the same long. If it's just without a product I wouldn't even opt to go with that crypto and not even bothered whether Google or Facebook has banned ads. We trade and earn and not from promotions.

We all know there are many scammers who use facebook to be able to find their target and after they get it. They will just rename their facebook or also create a new one and if that happens it will have an impact in promoting the crypto ad. Cool

This is not a good news but i dont care much about that. The most important is,  we know more about bitcoin and how does it works with us. The negative news will not help us, i don't entertain those negative news but i will just continue to focus on my invest to gain more.

Facebook isn't banning all crypto ads rather they are banning only Airdrop campaigns from their platforms. Those creating the FUD only.have one motive in mind, to cause panic sell to ensure that Bitcoin tanks.

I think the Facebook Crypto Advertising Fights. It seems that facebook users' ads are disturbed and that is why they are complaining about the ban. They are bribing ads of cryptocurrency with bitcoin. And its links have been closed. Want to stop people from its ads and keep away from its services. They may think that its ads would harm people.

I don't really think facebook has really banned bitcoin advertisements because if someone would share some links about cryptocurrencies no one will erase it.If we try to look at there were facebook campaigns that allows to post and share crypto links.I just think that maybe facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg jus put some rules but not totally bannes bitcoin ads.

Yes even I dont think so Facebook has banned crypto Ads as there are lot of Ads floating on Facebook Pages. There definitely would be restrictions which Facebook would have imposed on the Ads. Infact Facebook is also coming up with a new team dedicated only for Blockchain headed by David Marcus

Mark Zuckerburg is doing the opposite when he had just informed us that he is studying cryptocurrency. I have a feeling that maybe he want to establish a good image of crypto because he said that it's a risky investment and he must be  making his own alt that has credibility.

Crypto is not depended on social media. We are the crypto lovers can promote it in more ways than facebook. If facebook did it then it is loss for the company because btc is growing globally and it will not stop with all such action taken by the companies running for connecting the people on social media. Even there is no need to add such posts on this thread. It creates negativity which is having no base, no proof.

facebook prohibits crypto ads to anticipate ico fraud that many outstanding. And the ban is not permanent so it can be revoked at any time. hopefully facebook will soon create a more rigorous new rules regarding crypto ads and lift the ban.

Honestly, I don't see any problem with advertising something like crypto- related projects (even ICOs). I don't really care what is advertised to me. If it brings good money to facebook - why not?
If you are so stupid to invest in a well-advertised stuff - it is not a problem of Facebook which advertises this.

I think it's because of ICO scams. There are a lot of scam there so a lot of people was cheated. The  Facebook has always been strict with ads. But it is ok because shares and posts are working.

In faIn fact, many ICO projects have the potential to cheat money.

There are many older users on facebook, self identification ability is not enough, easy to cheat, if facebook is filled with all sorts of ICO advertising, it is not hard to imagine there will be a lot of uncle aunt click then to invest.

I believe that this ban on advertising on Facebook does not affect the cryptocurrency market.

It won`t. On the one hand, this crypto-ban on FB is bad because it leads to reduction of potential investors or people who want to enter this market. On the other hand, it reduces the amount of various scam projects that are very widespread today due to the overall youth of this technology and industry and credulity of people who want to get rich immediately without knowing all aspects of cryptos and blockchain market.

any social media platform is public but the privacy setting on the media allow users to make their account private. I am sure what you mean by private social media is that users have control over their privacy which includes who can follow them, what to share and deleting what they have shared. etc. cryptocurrency and other advertisement are allowed to run on Facebook and that is the reason while you always see some advertisement on the right corner of your facebook page. if they are banning crypto related ads that means those ads will not be displayed again and publisher will look elsewhere to get traffic

It is extremely a terrible news to hear that facebook prohibiting crypto promotions facebook is a privately owned business so they can do it and as of now a large portion of crypto related pages are erasing by facebook so not so distant future they will completely stop to publicize it yet BTC and cryptocurrency world never end regardless of whether they restricted.

I sell advertising for BitTorrent and am very close to people at Google, Facebook and Twitter who have told me that from a promotion standpoint (at least in the US) their lawyers see way too much potential liability at this point taking in advertising.   A factor is that promoting a product or service from a distributed network may be hard to track down should there be an issue.

However as people have stated here all of the aforementioned companies will be incorporating crypto-currencies into their offering.

SHAMELESS PLUG Smiley Smiley:   BitTorrent does accept advertising from crypto products and services.  Our audience skews 74% male, and they are very much of the cord cutting, technophile mindset and already trust distributed computing.  Contact me at worldwide@bittorent.com if interested for rates

The reason why facebook banning the cryptocurrency advertisement is because they want to protect their users. There are a lot of fake ICOs and they came up to the plan to ban the ads for them to protect the users of facebook.

I think this is because of the defrauding that was going so rampant at a time. I think what they finally did was to block unverified sites which probably have issues with their security certification. But they have Cut down on blocking ads. Though I also came up with ideas to fix this. I just advertise with asterisks inbetween the link and tell whoever I am telling to take it out for it to be complete. This has worked for me so far though. You can try it.

It's alarming because the fact that Facebook users are increasing and as one of the  popular form of social media, it has so much potential in attracting more audience. On the other hand, I still believe that Bitcoin can strongly survive even without Facebook, because its not dependent on one resource only. It can still operate in some other ways without the approval of others as it is decentralized. Despite banning crypto ads on Facebook, we have to realize that there are still other sources of information. Let's also remind ourselves that we are the best source of information, it all starts from us, we should be liable in every action we take and words we say to convey the right and informative message.

I heard that news long time ago and I can say that facebook won't ban bitcoin ads because they making a really good profit from advertiser. In other hand I really don't like that almost every ads that showing to me are about some ICO. I think that facebook isn't place for advertising a ICO because there are so many naive people on facebook and they will lose money.

Facebook served as a platform to reach the common people in a much easier way than many other sources. When the cryptocurrency network began to gain popularity people started to use it as an way to scam the users. This is the reason why facebook came up with plans to ban ads.

Well, maybe the law requires it and facebook have nothing to do with it but to follow rules, it is fine for as long as the bitcoin itself still exist and is not banning by any social media, then we are still free, and for me it is advantage since a lot of it are just hype and are scammers.

It's not the first time facebook is censoring, this isr eally sad.  Undecided
With all those fraudulent ICOs and shit coins filling up facebook advertisements, they have no other option but to ban all advertisements related to crypto currencies. All those HYIP and ponze scheme  advertisements making innocent people fool is not something facebook will want all over their page.
Facebook engaged in what they were selling profile information, and if based on them it was possible to win the election, it really ads to bring in the desired place with a personal approach according to profile the most. the target audience can have a specific sample and is more easily manipulated.

Sudden I hair a news that Facebook banning All crypto ads. If that's true,  Will  be negative for our Loving Bitcoin (all over crypto)?
I also see a News.

We are cryto lover people, but why Facebook did that? What's the man reason?

This might be partially true. I think not all crypto ads are being banned. Only some that are somewhat misleading. Yet the advertisement industry of cryptocurrencies in many social media platforms are still continued. If we all just ensure the quality of our contents in ads, no social media will ban it. I advice to everyone on that field to be more creative and keep up the good work. Advertisements are very essential in our market because it increases our popularity and advocates people to join our community.

There may be many reasons:
1. FBI, CIA ...
2. Lack of control
3. Lack of legislative base,
I think that this is rather a pause than a ban forever.

I will just hold and wait for a good crypto will definitely reap a profit in the long run. I would suggest waiting and waiting to make a profit
If Facebook prohibits advertising about crypto, it does not really matter for a good crypto currency if it has got a good and product-based investor base, then there's something to worry about.

Meh. I don't understand the purpose of crypto ads on facebook. Is it mainly for icos? If so, that's a pretty stupid way of getting people to invest in your project.

nope every thing is Normal zone and ads still showing.
That is what we are hoping that nothing such is going to happen, in fact there are some people who do not have enough money to invest in trading and they are only earning some from different ICOs through their advertisement, which is in fact providing a very good financial support to them. So we can hope that Facebook is not going take such kind of action.

Based on what I heard, Facebook only bans specific crypto ads though I am not sure which ones are. Some people claimed that few ads are very misleading so they reported it. This is very unfortunate not only to the creator/s of the ads but also to our whole industry. I think we need to build up again our name to be more realistic and more clear to the public to prevent this incidents of misunderstandings and misconceptions.

This is not a big problem. There are lot of other websites, who are willing to show crypto ads. Maybe projects will increasingly start to use bounties as marketing method, and payouts will get bigger. Then we all can say "Thank You, Facebook."

I don't think that this is the worst thing ever. As for me, I don't see any use of advertising on Facebook. I don't need to read ads to trade. I can find all information I need about crypto on the reliable sources and watching videos where experts share their experience

Every news that is against crypto is bad for us but it can also be a good call to buy.
But this ban hasn't been implemented yet, I still can see some ads on my facebook profile.
And they are ads about ICO's or it depends on your location?

I have heard about this before and back then I am not sure if it was really true. This is a very unfortunate news for our industry since Facebook is one of the top social media sites nowadays. Losing Facebook in our marketing of cryptocurrency will reflect badly in our goal to spread cryptocurrency. Let us just hope that this will be over soon or we find another way to advertise cryptocurrency.
