The performance of a currency depends on the endorsement it has. Bitcoin prices have raised when it has gained mainstream attention! Ethereum platform is close to that! ETH has hosted many ICOs in the last couple of months. The easiness provided by Ethereum to tokenize assets and automatize crowdfunding, and other activities through its smart contracts feature, have attracted entrepreneurs, innovators and developers. While I think ETH will eventually be king its not yet. Bitcoin won't go down without a fight.

As bitcoin is going through rough ride along with other altcoins but ethreum is turning out to be more stable platform for investment and also new ICO's are based on ethreum. Do you think Ethreum will dethrone bitcoin from 1st rank of crypto this year?
Going to be very tough, BTC has all the trading pairs, volume, fiat on-ramp, brand, awareness, security & most of all, has stood the test of time, 99.9% up time since inception. ETH has a long way to go on a fundamental basis, on sentiment, it could overtake BTC, but I don't see it staying there. |

Ethereum will not replace bitcoin as the king of crypto currency, though bitcoin has decreased but bitcoin will remain the most expensive crypto currency.
bitcoin decline will not be long because the price will continue to increase every year.

Not actually to beat bitcoins. if you are going to count on the total users who are started knowing bitcoins it is the best currency that you can trust and worth to hold for long term. Ethereum is surely a good next to bitcoins and it may never replace bitcoins as king unless if Ethereum can dump all coins evern bitcoins once it up or down.

This is mostly caused because of ICOs, i think that if there were not any icos at all, the entire ethereum marketcap would be zero, because the only utility that eth has are the smart contracts + icos that are stablished in there. Ethereum coin does really have the potential but since altcoins is based on bitcoins prices then there is no way for altcoins to replace bitcoins even in the futre. |

I do not think this is going to happen in the near future, because bitcoin is still the king of this market and still remains in the first place. Although the etherium is a good platform and many projects are connected to it and new enough to be added every day, but it will take a lot of time to reach the level of bitcoin.

Is the ability to provide fast and reliable smart contracts seems not enough? This can contribute to so many spheres and businesses, that only that I reckon would easily provide long life for ETH. Moreover, its' reputation is much better that that of BTC, there is well known team behind it, everything is transparent |

I've always believed in ETH, with so many ERC20 token using ETH, it's always had a possibility of making a good run at some point.
I sincerely hope ETH can be fully implemented into everyday use one day, it has the foundations and its moving forward rapidly. But the eth will not soon be able to overthrow king Olympus bitcoin, but his well-deserved second place he will not lose.
