Why not play games online instead of gambling?

Yes there are online games that can entertain us well and some of it can thrill you as if you are the player itself fighting in the opponent but I think its because gambling has different way to excite you. I mean when there is money involved its not like just you are entertaining yourself but also you have a chance to get incentives for doing your part as a player. We have different perspective on how we want ourselves to be entertain so maybe thats the reason.

As you say, it triggers you differently. When you gamble and there's money involved, if you win the same part of the brain gets triggered as when you do cocaine for example, hence why it's so damn addictive .

So yeah, can't agree with the OP on this one as they are completely different things, gambling and gaming..

Many but not all gamblers are claiming they gamble for fun and pass time. I was just thinking. If it is the reason why people gamble then why not play online games? There is a lot of good and challenging onlne games wherein you can interact with other people online?

Not all people do have the same interest in life or the leisure that they do seek out.Online games might be interesting for some but not all people would really jumped in the same ship.There would be always a guy who do seek out more thrill in life which would involve money and this is where gambling would take in. They do feel the thrill and at the same time they do possible earn the money.

You really do have a point there bro. We all have different opinions about things and life in general. Most times, what I may like is not what someone else may like, so at the end of the day, we just have to find something that suits us.

I have heard before about a lot of people who really do not like playing games, but when we really want to think of it, gambling too is somewhat related except for the fact that a lot can be won in the process, which I feel is the impulse that drives people into gambling anyway. I used to spend huge portions of my days playing roleplaying games (pen and paper, dice) in my teens, and then for a period in early twenties drowned my waking hours with boardgame-style games. They were fun, very fun. Good that I slept so little so I still spent enough time working but still a lot of years down the drain. But the risk that comes with gambling is something different entirely. I'm prone to lapses in judgment and self control but generally can keep myself from losing too much.

You can only earn money from games if you join the competition or become a youtuber. Or you sell various items in the game. And also, if you play the game you have to have a great special skill. But on the other hand gambling does not need any skill. Most gambling just needs luck. But what is certain of both is, gambling can not be used as main income. So basically the sensation of playing gambling and games online is totally different, of course.

Income is never anything I associate with either, to be honest! I see both as entertainment, and like watching a movie or going out for a football match, I'm willing to pay for that entertainment. Professional gamers and gamblers would beg to differ too with you on two points. First, both earn from sponsorships, participation and of course the prizes. Some are paid just to appear and lend their reputations to the event, they get paid whether they win or lose. Second, the best and most consistent gamers and gamblers are distinguished by their skill. Poker faces aren't something everyone can just put on, for example.

If we are talking about earning money, there are online games that lets you earn money by simply selling the ingame currency or rare loots to other player.  They are earned not won, unlike gambling where you won money.  I am talking this kind of stuff because I am one of those players that sells ingame items in exchange of money.

Not only that which if people do choose up the things that they wanted then its really non of pur business if they would decide to play gambling games or online games. They do have the time, effort and money to be used on not ours which means no matter what would be our decisions in life as long it do comforts us then other peoples views or words doesnt really matter at all.

It could give spice in the gameplay, I do agree in you it is really different if you play with a pure gaming and playing with a money involved(gambling) because the game is really intense to win the pot of gold . Though it is really addicted if you always win on the game but in the other side if you are looser then you dont want to play again that has a money involved. Thus there are a lot of perceptions of the people why do they tend to bet on games but mostly of it is it could give enjoyment and also money.

Once I admitted that I gamble for fun, but not as an addicted gambler or as my main income source. But as for your point, the technical answer could be - I gamble for fun but somewhere in my mind works that I may win some money, maybe accidentally. So this may be the reason for not playing online games rather I played in gambling sites.

Though the statement above is "once upon a time", now I have retired from gambling. I don't play anymore for fun with my own money. Need some time to return back for fun again.

When we have some companion whom we can dealt with, like playing dota with friends back in college, we play dota and whomever won gets the bet amount of the other team then online games will be more fun for there will be rewards, but when you just need some thrill then it may be on gambling, though I'm fond of PUBG for now so online games were all fine.

Playing game also can earn money because the higher level of your char , the more expensive your character will be.
Let's compare with gambling that you need to spend money for chance 50:50 in the end so it's different experience.

I think it's the exact opposite.. If you always lose in gambling you'll probably keep coming back to try and get back what you've lost on the past.. If you play a game though (League of Legends, dota, CS:GO etc.) and you continue losing you'll probably stop playing after a little while. I know I have haha.

I have seen this at what my friends do. they increase their level and then they offer to the games forum and they also offer to other friends. I think this is more fun that we can do while we could still playing gambling although in gambling we only spend the money and it is difficult to make money from gambling.

Yes, in a way, you can use it to unwind when you feel you just want to be around some people who share the same view with you regarding gambling (talking about real life casinos), but in the literal sense of gambling online, it can be boring, so what is the fun in it ?

I have thought about this though several times, so let's face it, everyone gambling online is always busy looking for the extra money they are going to make from gambling which we all know it is something hard to get. So really, why not just play game, it is even more entertaining.

That is a new trend people make their account worthy and then do bargain, but i think that it is something different from gambling, even if you are playing online gambling where you personally take place you bet for your own money, if you will will double the amount but also chance to lose your own betting amount. Gambling is risky in both sense either you play it in casino or will play online gambling.

Actually people,have a different purpose why they choose gambling rather than playing online games,because they want to earn at the same time they enjoyed.here in our country that belong in third world mostly the people playing an online games,you enjoy yourself but nothing in return,unlike in online gambling when you playing games and if you won,then you can earn money and the same time you enjoy and recreating yourself  from distress.

Thats true, you only playing without earning money you become addicted without earning money that's worthless. But I am not prefered in gamblong since this is win-lose game you will win this hour but because you are addicted and greedy you will lose it again. Much better try sport play there and have funs at least it is more healthy that sitting in your chair 24 hours because of that games.
