I just checked the MasterCoinAdvisor to get a first deal started. I think I know how to send some mastercoins, but I'm not sure how I can check if the transaction was successful.
Any suggestion on this?

You and the seller should both agree on what the transaction should look like in the block chain. Once you see it show up (and assuming they didn't send the coins to someone else first!), you own the coins. There is a website for checking these transactions, but I'm told it doesn't handle valid transactions which have bitcoin change coming back to the sender. You can try that here: http://mastercoin.bysh.me:3000/

Can you confirm that there were mastercoins transferred in this transaction? How much?
http://blockchain.info/de/tx/4cad027f03f984d7745c077820617318c7553a90ca64be56e78217fc18cf4ea5

It looks to me that 1.3 Mastercoins were transferred in that transaction? That info should be in the hash of the data address (http://blockchain.info/de/address/1EwzPMJan18uaTVWSJtKYJk5H6NnVyiRqp) - if I got it right the amount transferred is 0x7bfa480 or 1.3 Mastercoins.

Yes, exactly 1.3 Mastercoins were transferred – thanks for taking a look and confirming.

Dacoinminster can you verify for me the following two transactions I did in the Exodus address? I used 0.0001btc fee.

In http://mastercoin.bysh.me:3000/ I get an error!

PM me if you want to sell Mastercoin.

I will buy at this ratio 1BTC:50MC

It allows you to get your Bitcoin investment back, and keep half of the coins, so basically you get them for free.

These appear to be Exodus Address purchases. That website will (incorrectly) tell you that all input addresses own MasterCoins (only the address with the biggest contribution owns MasterCoins), and it will double-count if the same address shows up as multiple inputs . . .

You should all bug him to fix these issues, then you can actually use that website for the purpose you guys are trying to use it for Smiley

When will MasterCoin have a proper exchange with charts, volumes, order books...?

The exchange will be distributed, but I expect there will be software and websites which display the order book and charts based on what is in the block chain.

If you want to take a shot at it, you could make a lot of money in our upcoming coding contest, briefly described here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=265488.msg3065262#msg3065262

That is a very generous offer indeed.  However, anyone who read the white paper will understand why that offer will only look good at a time so close to the close of the funding round.  In a few weeks, this offer will look silly.

I've got over 5000 Mastercoins.  I do have some I could spare.  I am pretty confident with 1:1.  However, I am a reasonable man after all.  Maybe there is somewhere between 1:1 and 1:50 that we could find mutually agreeable.  Let me know whether you are considering improving your position and let me know how many you need.

Selling 200MSC for 40BTC - 1:5

My logic is the following:

Based ONLY in the number of MSC and BTC we will have around 50M MSC (correct me if I am wrong) for 21M BTC.
So when all btc are mined a 'fair' price could be 1btc=2.5msc.

But now we have only 11M btc so it is about 1btc=5msc (double number of MSCs needed for a ratio based on quantity of both currencies only).

What do you think?

EDIT: I may have 125MSC more in this price, I will have to ask wizzardTim which I currently manage his coins.

there have been sent approx. 5000 btc to the Exodus address, each equals 100 MSC + average %20 bonus which should equal to 600K MSC.
To this you can add the future 10% that will be added gradually which will be finally about 660K MSC (which shall be less since 60% of bitcoins arrived in the last week that only had 10% bonus reward)
May you explain us how did you arrive to 50M MSC number???
Also where did you buy your logic from!?

5000*100=500K my mistake!!

So it would be 660K all, thanks for that!

So my calculations were far off, nevermind! I tried to base them on the total numbers of MSC vs that of BTC...

EDIT: MSC would be around 7.5 times less than BTC hmmm...

again you miss-calculated! If we have 660K MSC and 21M BTC and use your logic then we will get 1 MSC~ 31.81 BTC
That is much higher than you expect now  Wink

Please stop jerking now, you are hurting the project with your greed and cupidity.

MSC is for the moment a big idea and gained a big momentum with the funds raised. But today it's totaly useless and has not much value than a bag to hold it.

By being harassant and childish you are burrying the project even if it hasn't started yet!

So Calm down, let the adventure begins and use your energy on something different than your greed (like improving bitcoin usefullness?) with price pulled out of your ***

There is nothing fair about price kind of things in open markets  Wink
And until there is not a dynamic play of demand/supply there is not price at all  Wink
You better calm down and wait, this project looks promising and has a lot of potential..
And exactly because it is promising, the likelihood of a dirty bump and dump is very small..
This way, I am neither willing to sell my coins, nor speculate about their logical price Wink

This thread is not for speculation, it is just for bid and ask placement, so please transfer your speculating games and thoughts to another one more related. Or perhaps you can open one new thread yourself and speak with people with the same morality over there!

I see that there have been a couple transfers of MasterCoins since the end of fundraising. Presumably those were MasterCoin sales.

I think it would be awesome if those of you who have actually made a purchase or a sale would publish the price here. That would help others establish a reference for what the going rate is.

The lowest price I have seen here is double what people were paying at the end of the fundraiser. That's pretty nice for my investors, but less nice for those of you who missed the deadline.

Can you be more specific on price please?

BTW I am only speculating for half of my investments - the other half I really hope I can actually USE it some day so I am holding (Bitcoin lacks some very crucial features to be ideal for me Wink ).

It would also be nice if the sellers-buyers would post how they made the txfer's too. Did they use MCAdvisor or sell private keys to wallets?
