Before you buy an altcoin make it sure you're already good when to sell and not to sell coins in order you to avoid losses, this is the right time to buy more cheaper coins because prices is now affordable due to the volatility in market and hodl for a long time until the expected earnings you get. if I personally do the analysis by looking at the graph of altcoin that I want to buy and see whitepaper and roadmap from ICO, because only from that way I can find out if altcoin will give me profit or even make me loss.

exactly once, the steps you mentioned earlier I often do before deciding to buy a coin but it's just on paper, for growth I think no one is able to predict exactly so I often use my intuition after seeing the information whether the project will be successful or not.
