I'm really very sad about him. Suicide is not an answer for any problem. In my opinion it's the great foolishness I ever seen in my life.what ever it happened ,we can't return it. He got depressed because he invited a huge amount. And the sudden fall make him mad.

Im not sure which one is correct, but this news in my country is quite popular and it goes something like this "Korean college student was an investor in cryptocurrency who previously got around 200 million won (Korean currency which is equivalent to around 200,000 usd) from trading, was found dead of suicide in his apartment. The cause is suspected to be the recent drop in cryptocurrency's price and together when the Korean government announced to ban cryptocurrency trading through exchange website"

This government thing is pretty big in Korea appearently, people protested and stuff, so my assumption was that the government had everyone's account suspend, so this guy got upset and thought he lost all his money and decided to end it. Just pure guessing though.

That is a very tragic story, some asian attitude have that, there are even suicide mountain that can be found at Japan, I don't know if there is something like that in Korea. Anyway, last December I read an article that there are Korean students that form a Crypto Club in their university to help other students in trading crypto. I hope he or she is not part of that group. I think there could be a correction in your post, as I read it the victim earned and not loss.

He should have understood the word 'HOLD'.

I don't doubt that something like this could happen, but I don't see anything in this noob's post that says it did happen.  My guess is that this guy is just trolling our emotions here, and I'm not having it.  If it did happen, it's good evidence why dumbasses shouldn't play around with more money than they're comfortable losing.

What he did is his own decision,he killed himself by his depression and i think he can't handle it anymore maybe thats the reason why he committed suicide.Investing in crypto is a big risk,investors were risktakers  knowing its votality is one of the factor that is going to consider if you are an investor of crypto and now that corrections really going dip i think its going to hard for some investors to know this was happening..and i think he is one of it.I just hope that no one will follow of what he did.Investors must have enough courage in this cryptocurrency business because anything would happen,any rules could be implemented and we all must be ready on the coming circumstances in cryptos.

He did not need committing suicide because eventually the price would increase, but he preferred to commit suicide and leave people who love him suffering... this is a very sad thing.

interestingly, there are many people who are not psychologically prepared to make this type of investments and even though they are not prepared to make this type of investment, these people are making investments of this kind.

Unfortunately this is the reality of highly speculative and volatile  markets, so the advice that many have given on this forum and others is DO NOT invest/risk any more than you can comfortably afford to loose.

from $ 20,000 in less than 2 months to fall to less than  $7000, I think this is because many people put high expectations in bitcoin and the current price is a great disappointment for many people

Well we take risk and we earn money. It is like a give and take situation but suicide is not the answer if you lose. You should get up and fight again in the life. You are not fool because you have the courage to suicide but that's just wrong. You just pass your problem to your family of you kill yourself.

it is sad but it is not a shocked because korea is the country with the most suicide cases, Korean people tend to be more easily depressed. it is not only related about crypto currency,suicide is a shortcut for people who do not apreciate their lives, they should think that their life is more important than anything else.

Things like this is for real and that's how they face reality. They fall and just don't pushed themselves to stand up again.
That is why it's not recommended for people who have financial crisis to put it all in as investment. Rather just a portion of your earnings and what you can only afford to lose to avoid depressions.

And we can't deny that circumstances such as murder can not be avoided when greediness attacks.
That is why bitcoin aims to be anonymous and financial freedom. But government can't see that.

suicide always seems tragic to me, whatever the circumstances, because the root cause is usually social pressure from our fucked up dog-eat-dog society. and herd psychology is very powerful when it comes to markets, especially in an age where speculative finance has become so entrenched in the economy. people losing themselves in the hype and irrational exuberance of the market, then realizing they've lost nearly everything and killing themselves over it? to me, that's nearly the definition of "sad."

it's really no different to me than people jumping to their deaths from buildings in the 1929 crash. this kid's parents are probably heartbroken.

If this story is true, this kid was never mentally prepared for this market.

there's a lot of people involved in this market now who aren't psychologically prepared.

This is a sad story, people should realize that investing in crypto currencies is not a joke, the market is very fluctuative, it's very unpredictable, don't just count the profit but every also need to ready to lost money, it's so heart breaking to see someone fall in depression because of crypto currencies

There were many cases of a wealthy individual who committed suicide during the great depression in the US. I read it in the book think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill.

This is really what happened when we tend to be greedy and when we accumulate more than we could ever imagine, we still want more and in the process of wanting more, there is a potential that we can lose it all due to some factors that we cannot control. The loses will be so devastating and for the emotionally and mentally weak, suicide will be an easy escape to accept the truth.

It should not be the case, we should value life more than anything else in this world.

It’s so sad to know that a life has lost after a failed investment. I may not have experience yet what he has experienced but I’m praying to remain strong in times of great depression. We are bound to make wrong decision which causes our failures. However, we need to be strong to fight the circumstances and to rise from our failures. Each of us need have strong faith not to consider suicide as an option and we need to be determined enough to stand and to take a step towards success.
