Why almost everybody suggest to hold?

You only make a real profit or loss at the time that you sell. Given the market keeps appreciating it makes sense to HODL until you need the cash. Like most investments a long term view makes sense. Unlike most investments, long term in crypto is 5 years.

We should all consider the fact that perhaps it was based on their own respective experiences. I would agree to them that when it comes to the coins value being low matter, the wisest thing to do would always be to hold on to the coins because it may be profitable in the future.

based on experience many are holding because it will make you earn more.  in times where prices of cryptos are low patience helps a lot. AS long as the altcoins you are holding are those legit and have great potentials to grow in long term, holding will pay off. Also as digital currencies are still growing, its probable that it would still develop in the next 2 to years and higher yield is also expected.

Correct and i do agree. Comparing pure gambling and investment risk isnt really completely the same,might have both on having risk but they do have on different level yet investment do have factors which we can base so that we would able to less the risk on losing up money.Holding up our investment would entirely depending on the coin we do believe. If you do see the potential then why not hold?

IMO, only HODL on to promising coins with an active GitHub and/or other developments + if their MCAP is greater than ~20Mil USD.
Anything below that is too high a risk to HODL in my opinion.

Yeah definitely most of the member here in the forum will suggest on hodl simply because holding bitcoin is way much better the short term investment. Most importantly in hodling we can earn more profits. And yes it takes time, i mean too much time for the profits but absolutely worth it.

Not all coins could recover from such a crash and believe me when I say this but, those people also have this kind of experience where a specific coin of their holding keeps falling and the thought of them that it would someday recover in the future resulted of losing even more of their money. Cryptocurrencies shoulder many hard decisions, you must make sacrifices in order to cut down even more losses.

Simple. People tell you to hold so bitcoin's price won't go down any further. What happens when more bitcoins are being sold than being bought?

Mainly, the best thing to do is to let people and most especially newbies understand that from experience, these lows are something that we were looking forward to attaining in the past. At the end of it all, why panic, sell at loss and at the end of the day miss the peaks? It is just as simple as that. Not everyone have the knowledge of trading, so rather than panicking, the market will always recover, you will get more profit and by then you would have been experience enough to know whether to hold or sell. We have all been there!

Hi all,
I have a really simple question or so seems to me cause i am a crypto noob.
I really do not understand why almost everybody suggest to hold when there is a dip or correction.

With my simple noob logic i think that when there is a dip someone could sell at the start of the dip or do something else (e.g. buy tether y i know the rumors or something similar anyway) and then buy again later when the correction has stop or decrease.

Obviously no one knows when there is a many days dip and when it will end in order to buy but even so one can save much money just for sell and buy in between even without predict the absolute start and end of a dip.

I hold as everyone suggests but i now realise that if i had sell even a couple days before even yesterday-and not right after the start of the dip and buy lets say now i would have save a bunch of money relatively with what i am doing now which is hold.

I really must be missing something since i am crypto noob orelse i cannot explain why everyone suggest hold while i fear that real pros are doing the oppossite.

I would like to ask only experienced people who know what they are talking about to give their opinions cause i am fed up reading pseudo crypto pros everywhere around. I bet many of you understand what i mean. Everybody has become a crypto pro . Well i am a crypto noob and i need your heads up.

Its depend on your time actually, because if you have time to do the trade why you need to hold, batter you trade and earn some money from that.

The market movements and the people are now coming to the bitcoin for making the profits.

just because everyone is saying hodl  does it mean they are right and should be followed? Hell no,  not all the times their predictions is correct because they are also humans and they cannot posibly see or predict on what will happen on the crypto market. You should still the one who decides on what to do because that is your money at the first place.  just always remeber that there is always a risk on everything therfor you better know the consequences before you venture the unknown road.

The whole point of holding is to reduce the possibilities of making mistakes by taking bad decisions, those that day trade are exposed to this risk more than anyone, those that hold are the ones exposed the least, and following this simple advice I will guarantee you that if we grabbed 10 holders that held for 5 years and 10 traders that traded for those same 5 years you will see that in average the holders got better results.

You're definitely right, those experienced one can give good advice to those who are new one. Well, it also depends our own thouggs if we feel to hold it or not but most people here in the forum want to hold which make sense in times of increasing. Basically, people will panic and very emotional and may cause to sell their shares to avoid too much loss. So, if possible we must hold it as much as we can to have a huge amount of profit in the future.

Come to think of it, if you bought your coins at a high price before almost with the same range of price of bitcoin now, you're not going to earn that high! Panic will not help you.
Just wait until the price goes up again. And when you are already satisfied to the price, then it's selling time for you.

There is one theory in mathematics saying that in the stock markets, you reduce the risk while holding assets in longer periods of time. You increase your risk if you hold them in shorter periods. This is why.

Everybody suggest to hold because as you can see the price of the bitcoin is dip. So, how do we get some profit if the price of bitcoin is low, I suggest you, instead of selling you should buy more bitcoin while the bitcoin price is not back then, it's a good opportunity to buy at a cheap price.

Everyone tells to hold you bitcoin because panic selling will not help make the situation better. It will just worsen the situation, if you keep on panic selling your btc at a lower price, this will aggravate the situation since the trust is gone that price will go down ever lower.  Therefore, holding will help reduce our losses because the market right now is really not so good, long patience will get us to reach our goal at a perfect time.

because its the best way not to lose money. when you hold you won't buy the top of coins and sell the bottom like most nooks do. you never miss a run. you don't have to worry about charting , you can literally forget about your coin for a year and come back to some gains. unless you invest in a shitcoin lol
