Why almost everybody suggest to hold?

Because in the future everyone believes that Bitcoin will grow in value. Until the winter of 2018 Bitcoin was constantly growing in price. Many people who trade cryptocurrency have no experience of trading at all. And this is the easiest advice.

I think the reason about that is teach us the virtue of patience. Through waiting we can get more things just like in investment. The more you wait the higher the value that you will received.

OP, I don't see you as some who is inexperienced in crypto currency field because you already know how to save yourself when dip occur by using Tether. However, most people advice you to hold because it the old way of making profit in crypto world but with correct market correction the best to do is use Tether since it backed by $1.

Hmm. I agree with you that holding is the old way of making profit in crypto trading and almost all crypto trader still believe is the only way to secure their investment but that have change after it was confirmed that Tether was truly backed with $1.

Hi all,
I have a really simple question or so seems to me cause i am a crypto noob.
I really do not understand why almost everybody suggest to hold when there is a dip or correction.

With my simple noob logic i think that when there is a dip someone could sell at the start of the dip or do something else (e.g. buy tether y i know the rumors or something similar anyway) and then buy again later when the correction has stop or decrease.

Obviously no one knows when there is a many days dip and when it will end in order to buy but even so one can save much money just for sell and buy in between even without predict the absolute start and end of a dip.

I hold as everyone suggests but i now realise that if i had sell even a couple days before even yesterday-and not right after the start of the dip and buy lets say now i would have save a bunch of money relatively with what i am doing now which is hold.

I really must be missing something since i am crypto noob orelse i cannot explain why everyone suggest hold while i fear that real pros are doing the oppossite.

I would like to ask only experienced people who know what they are talking about to give their opinions cause i am fed up reading pseudo crypto pros everywhere around. I bet many of you understand what i mean. Everybody has become a crypto pro . Well i am a crypto noob and i need your heads up.

You can see that last year (2017) was the year in which the holder gained huge success when the profit of the holder was superior to the trader. So it is possible to see that the trend of people is pouring into hold, but I think that at the moment you should not hold and should trade. it depends on the situation, if there is a profit then do not take too long, immediately sell the fear the price will come back down. do not lust because it will bring harm

Everyone thinks that it should be getting warmer, and according to previous data, it will pick up for a short time. This is a big chance, so this is why everyone has suggested continuing to hold.

one reason i seen why everybody suggest hold, i'm also agree on that strategy hold and wait to raised the value in the market to earn huge amount of profits bitcoin or altcoins. i recommend do not listen to the other person how long to hold your bitcoin use it if you need to spend it for your family because family needs are important than anything.

The great success of the holder in 2017 has shown the advantages and great returns from the hold brought. But I think you should not continue to use the hold method at the present time, it can be seen that the market in the first months of 2018 is showing serious demise, the price of bitcoin and altcoin are continuously reduced. and there are no signs of recovery in the coming days.

The reason why most people recommend holding is because once you decide to sell at a loss, those losses get locked it.  Holding is a way to get through the downtrend without having to take the risk of trading.  With that being said, if you have experience trading in a downtrend or even a bull run you could make more money doing that than holding.  Trading does come with more risk though if the trend that you are trending one ends or rapidly changes (which it usually does) you could lose a lot of money.

This the reason why I said hold and wait through dump in price season are old strategy form of trading while converting your investment into Tether is the modern form of securing investment.

Hold because of the possibility of rising prices is much higher than now, because everybody knows the price of the BTC from release to now has been increased by millions of times, if someone hold BTC to now from the start, will obtain huge profits.

So people think that as long as they hold it, they make a profit.

holding may ever have the two side that it could be the best choice and there is always some bad things that could be ever happen we can say and suggest for what could be the safest thing but this is may always depends on what particular coin are you trying to hold for.

For me, another reason for holding now is because it is the best and the smartest thing for us to do. because the current situation of our market is down , even bitcoin . they had a big dump this month and we dont even know when it will rise again rather pump instantly. if you sell your coins right now, you might regret if its value increases this month

I would advice you on 2 things.
1. The only time you can hodl  is when you're at a loss or when you're waiting for a major event before selling.
2. When there's a long term plan for such coin. Without this two, always take profits as to when they come. Don't hodl  for ever cos a huge bear run might come and take the profits you've accrued for a long time away and thereby making you lose out entirely.

Holding BTC means you have poor knowledge, you are afraid of market fluctuations. We can see that some people do not need to hold altcoin for a long time but they still make a lot of money. Because they catch the opportunity, they guess the market trend. I think knowledge contributes to your profit, and patience is the second most important factor.
