Roughly until now

~ 1.1m private & XBOND
~ 1.1m in Bitfunder
~ 0.3m in Havelock
~ 0.3m in BTC

Is this is how it's placed? Really?

While reading what I wrote, use the most friendliest and relaxing voice in your head.

My main concern is whether some venture capital and/or private equity funds arriving last minute to grab all shares leaving the kindergarden investors (us) without some shares. For them the amount of the IPO is peanuts compared to the opportunity.

If the NEOBEE venture fails they will loose petty cash, if it succeeds it will become a multi-hundred million business.

well, i tried making a bitfunder account just now in hopes of getting in the ipo.. and so far i'm not liking it.

-the green "FREE Sign-Up!" button in the top right corner seems to be a dead link
-the charts cause my browser (firefox on unbuntu) to horribly lag and rarely even work at all, sometimes freezing the whole browser.
-after finding my way to the registration menu and signing up, the email-verification never shows up in my inbox..

imo this website still isn't ready for public release. these shares are distributed very poorly. more should be placed on btc-tc.

Then buy on Btc-tc.

The shares haven't been placed yet. Just bids. Shares will be placed according to bid volume. Given that 8m shares will be placed, there's still plenty of spaces available on BTC-TC's list of bids.

You have two other exchanges where you can buy these shares, no need to be crying here about your inability to use a simple website.

So 300,000 shares will be released on BTCT.co, and we already have over 800,000 bids.

So what happens? The top 300,000 bids get filled?

+1

btct way more professional and the one that have the A quality site, Easy to deposit/withdraw instead of bitfunder need 3rd party exchanger to handle that process. They also have an option for yubikey that i rarely seen on average site.

Why do you think only 300k shares will be placed on BTCT.co?
They said they will do it in proportion to placed bids.

It's all in the Prospectus. Have you read it?

So? Use BTC-TC. Or Havelock. They will be filled according to the bids. I agree on BitFunder, especially on WeExchange - it is a pain to make it work, and when it decides to not work anymore, support does not reply.

yeah, someone still has to explain me why bitfunder is so popular, I really don't get it

ah thank you, i didn't know that. i only browsed through the prospectus to see how serious they were, have to admit, i did not read the whole thing word-for-word.

and of course i'll be using btc-tc. thanks again.

edit: btc-tc registrations are closed? bummer..

It's popular in the instance of this IPO because the underlying asset is on BitFunder and the other two exchanges will serve as pass throughs.

As to *why* they chose BitFunder, I don't know. It's a piece of crap compared to BTCT and Havelock. BTCT really takes the cake I would say.

I believe it was mentioned that all the 'virtual' talk on BTCT served as a deterrent.

So what happens? The top 300,000 bids get filled?

That 800,000 bids includes over 500,000 bids which are below the IPO price. When the IPO happens, the bids at or above 0.003 will be filled.

If you wonder why people would bid below the IPO price, consider that there will be several million shares sold when the IPO starts, but nobody knows whether the other millions of shares needed to complete the IPO will be sold, or how long that may take. If the sales slow down, some investors might want to get their money back instead of waiting for November to roll around and the IPO declared a failure. So I put in some bids below the IPO price because I can be more patient than those people.

As to why people use BitFunder, I use it for a few specific assets which I wanted to invest in and are not listed on other exchanges. For NEOBEE I will be using btct, I like them better since BitFunder does not have an API, they do not have a facility for voting, and they do not give emails when my orders are filled.
