I humbly suggest that LMB should act proactively and begin tracking shareholders internally and provide means to transfer shares between shareholders on request. It could either be a robot (e.g. the one suggested by jgarzik, maybe with an additional trigger condition in order to allow escrow/arbitration services), or can be done manually with certain limits (one transfer per 10000 shares per week). Pass-throughs can provide liquidity, but would not be the responsibility of LMB.

Yes, please Smiley

For regulatory, technical and security reasons, it is very useful to separate the shareholder registry from the share trading markets.  This is also how things work in the "real world."  See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stock_transfer_agent

All bitcoin clients support a "sign message" feature, which may be used like PGP to prove that a shareholder really does control a bitcoin address.

Once a provable, secure shareholder registry exists, anyone may set up a market or trade shares privately.

If anyone has tech questions, feel free to contact me.

Jeff, I am a developer with a love for bitcoin and btc stuck that I chose to
Invest in neobee on btct.. I am not worried about my btc, but the future of btc trading in this nature.. I love your idea for a 3rd party registry independent of markets.  I want to run withit,  I had offered to join the color coin project, but I'm thinking some 3rd party registry with pgp signatures or a signed message with an API that any market could use would be ideal.

I would love to chat with you about ideas.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

^ interested as well

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash."  -  Child Harold - February 28, 2014

No. You may choose one exchange, and then pay for transfer services if you wish to spread yourself around.

This is going to be a lot of work and we intend to perform it in an exemplary fashion, please help us facilitate that goal by sticking to the rules.

Thank you!

TAT, could you reply when you get our emails?  I sent one, but sometimes gmail puts my messages in a spam folder, so it would be nice to get a confirmation that you received my email.

gg  literally signed up 2 days before this mess.. and i'm left holding the bag and out money.  It's not much, learned my lesson, won't bother "investing" in btc companies anymore.  I'll just be transfering and cashing out as I've learned that at some point there is going to be a gotcha with these sites.  I can transfer these shares to havelock, but when they get shutdown at what point do i lose my btc.. that's how it feels right now.

at least until a decentralized way to invest is developed.

Generally I will not be replying to all emails. We MIGHT do confirmation emails, but the time is probably better spent actually processing xfers. The recent process we completed for XBOND > NEOBEE went flawlessly, so please have faith.

We have a LOT of work ahead of us for the rest of these BTCT migrations. Please be patient, this will not get solved in one day, and we may not be able to provide additional confirmations at every step. All of our work will be tracked in spreadsheets, so if any oversights or errors occur, they can be easily resolved.

Thank you!

Regarding pre-IPVO shares, do you want emails regarding them now or would you prefer us to wait until the dust has settled from this BTCT stuff?

Not sure what you mean, all Pre-IPVO shares were rendered earlier today.

You have two options, BTCT.co is not one of them unfortunately.

Well there must be one more option otherwise there will be some shares stuck in a limbo and we wouldnt want that right ? Iam not trying to be pain in the ass on purpose here, but you must let people either transfer it as direct shares to BTC address, or to wait until some date when everyone who wants to transfer to havelock/BF and then force buy back on remaining ones.

Why? I just set up an account on havelock and it took about 10 seconds, really easy.

There is not, and will not be, a direct-share option. If there are stragglers, we'll solve that problem as necessary.

I suppose, in theory, this could go on perpetually like GLBSE did, but I've never been fond of loose ends.
