I think that i have never heard about anyone saying that holding has not been profitable.

Those who holded and they sold at a loss, are those who do not know how to REALLY hold in here, it is not a loss if you do not sell.

Well, during the last year, i lost a lot of money because of holding the wrong altcoins, it was not my intention after all, but in the middle of a market full of Hype, you end up buying any shit, just like i did before.

I do believe that choosing a coin really matters if you want to hold it longer. You might end up regretting if you hold the wrong coin and in the end will drop and never revive it's status anymore. Holding the right coin is the best to do to gain more profit in the end.

For me Yes, Because we all don't know when BTC,ETH or any altcoins will go down. If we hit are goals in price lets trade it for no regrets at the end.
it is possible Silpo the price of coins are the one that We are satisfied with. If the market stabilizes from now on, then all the rating coins are likely.

I think the hold coin depends on market conditions only. Do not you just conclude the hold problem. If suddenly the price goes up and it impacts the price so on, while we hold for a few months or a few years, of course you will miss to get rich.

My experience about hold coin, only about 2 months, as I said above, I observe the market price alone, if it is stable for sales, of course I will sell, if not we hold it first. So hold is not dangerous ad you say, only if you always see what happen on market anytime.
Thanks

If the coin you hold is in accordance with the situation in the market, it will not harm you. Precisely the market will help you to protect your coins from the extermination of money you have invested in crypto. We should be able to think rationally to be able to choose the right coins to hold, so we will not misstep and can get what we expect from crypto.

If you hold the right coin, hold on for a long time they will bring you high profits. So make the decision. I see many people made the mistake of regretting not having patience.

Yes, if we hold a potential penny and tend to grow to a powerful user in the future, that penny will bring us tremendous profits. So there is no reason why we do not hold them.

I agree with this but to do that it requires your effort just to make your own search on the coin you think has a bright future and you need to search very well the background and of it and after that. That's for you to make a plan before buying on it because it will minimize your losses.

Last year alts rise a lot. I dont know the average percentage. But when I check coins in the market at year 2013 lots of them dead now (too low ranks). probably new tech coins won them (like peercoin, namecoin, ixcoin etc)

Also we are following new ICO s and most of us expecting too much gain from new coins which are not at the market. If our ICO expectations will happen, when they added to market, current market coins will go down. kind of paradox  Huh
We all know that there are a lot of altcoins out there and we should reasearch them ourselves so that we would know which coins has a potential to pump up in terms of price. Holding altcoins is not dangerous as long as the coins you have is good and have potential in the future.

Holding altcoin is never dangerous when you have assessed the potential of the altcoin. The altecoin as peercoin, namecoin is a typical example of the failure of a start-up company.
They often lack experience when undertaking business expansion. Insufficient staff to help the company become strong. So the important factor of investors is to evaluate the true value of the company.

HODLing is never dangerous, it always gives good returns. Altcoins prices are also increasing as the price of BTC is going up now. For instance, NEO was around 55 USD month back and is now around 85 USD, predictions are that NEO may cross 200 USD later this year but for that, you need patience and the capacity to HODL.
Another key thing before you buy and HODL is picking up the right Coin. Just like in equity market, stocks with weak fundamentals are usually cheap, in a crypto world never chase sh*t coins that are cheap in value, go for tokens which have solid fundamentals (like a strong team, roadmaps etc). If you pick your coins wisely and HODL, success is deemed to happen for you.

I don't see any problems in holding my altcoins. Yeah you need to choose what type of coins you need to hold in a long term and if you find out that it need to dumps due to few supply then you need to act fast before it's too late. Monitoring is essential in holding altcoins.

risk is the name of the game. investing in any coin is risky. you have to do some research and decide for yourself if that risk is worth it for you

There are not dangerous if you choose to hold good altcoins. Like ETH is one of the altcoins you should hold till now.
I'm sure 2018 will be the year of Altcoins especially Ethereum.

it depends on the altcoin you are investing ofcourse you have to be very careful there put your own criteria and what suits you Mine is basically. the team and how active they are on social media - telegram especially. altcoin features what new things the coin is bringing to the table.

I'm not sure that holding altcoins is that dangerous. Most of alts are trading in pair with BTC or ETH only, so if BTC will gain value, alts will, too. This is too common answer, but this is the idea.
Although most of alts are trading in pair with BTC or ETH but i don't think that the price of them depend on the price of Bitcoin or ETH.
Personally, the price of any altcoin depend on the project behind it. If it has a good project that propose a new good idea and has a good development team then i'm sure that its price will soon go up notwithstanding the price of Bitcoin or ETH goes up or down. You can research the price of IOTA, Stellar, NEO to see this.

Many new types of cryptocurrencies are being created, and it is almost impossible to control all of them, and soon they will all fall, some will rise, but not all.
