I am trying to wire money through my bank, and my bank is saying that the Black Arrow Swift number does not match the address given. When they look it up, things aren't making sense. Also there is no BIC number. They are recommending to NOT to buy from this company, as it appears to be a scammer. They say any reputable company would have their info correct to make accepting money a straight forward process.

Black Arrow, please give me the correct details to send this payment to. Also i need a valid BIC number.

Use the full address on your invoice. That is what I did.

It is HSBC Hong Kong. There is no BIC.  Show your bank HSBC's site http://www.commercial.hsbc.com.hk/1/2/commercial/accounts/usefultips

Use Transferwise.  It's usually cheaper than your bank. They show you up front what the charges are, and will often send you a refund if they can do it cheaper.

Kudos for suggesting transferwise and without a referral FlappySocks. Smiley For all it's worth I've used it before as well with success but not for the currency pairs in question. It can be faster than a normal transfer and always cheaper.

Thanks.  Actually, you just reminded me it works both ways.  Not only do I get rewarded, but if you use this link, you will get a free transfer.

how is it cheaper? the bank will take x% to transfer to transferwise same as it would if you payed directly to x company?
unless you keep money with them i dont see the upside?

i don't really transfer allot from my bank account to overseas so i don't really know that much about it

No, when you send money to Transferwise, it's always to a local bank to you. So no fees (at least not for me).
The payment at the other end is a local bank to Black Arrow.
Between the two banks, Transferwise will try to match the money payments of others, to give you a better rate. Or something like that.

You will pay the full fee up front, and then Transferwise will send you a refund if they manage to get you a better deal.
I have used them a lot, and only one time, I didn't get a refund.  In any case, it's cheaper than the bank.

I know this is off topic, so I will keep it brief. Have you tried this will any of the exchanges? If so, please post or PM me your experience. I am still looking for a US exchange that I can easily send/receive USD. (maybe this is helpful for those who want to pay in BTC)

Payment method aside, I ordered one of th esingle unit's from a reseller, still no answer on how to pay.

I'm considering ordering an X3 this month. But to be completely honest jumping around like this is somewhat unsettling.

Why can't a legit company, with real stock, take paypal as payment?

If you ship and provide a tracking number, you don't need to worry about charge backs.

That being said, are we taking these guy's seriously? 6 grand is a LOT of money but it's enough to be pissed if it doesn't show up until 2015 lol

That's just it. No real stock (yet). Your paying for a pre-order. Paypal have a history of blocking accounts.  Other ASIC suppliers have had the same problem.

Matt, does Black Arrow have a timeline for when the package details in the datasheet will be finalized?

Thanks.

I'm going to get caught up on this thread soon but I've so far not read anything since my last post. We're even further behind with tickets because we're working hard on adding resellers to our ranks. We're making great progress on that front and will work hard to get caught up on our orders and tickets. Each reseller that we add will eventually reduce our work load and will allow for better customer support. We really appreciate your patience in this busy time.

Thanks.

Thank you Matt, we appreciate your input. Could you help me understand any benefits to using one of your resellers instead of purchasing directly from blackarrowsoftware.com? I'm in the United States and like the idea of using a local reseller such as minersource.net, but I fear that shipping times may actually be longer due to them being the "man in the middle". In theory, wouldn't I receive a miner sooner by simply ordering from BA directly?

It's faster to ship a huge order to one place for distribution than it is to ship hundreds of small items all over the world where they can individually be tied up in customs and individually taxed.

Thanks again Matt. Does BA plan to prioritize large orders to resellers over small individual orders?

Hey Matt, can you weigh in on this for us?

Anyone who has done wire transfers and other types of payment over the pond... knows the pain it can be. Sometimes a bank visit.. always a fee.. takes several days.

Try https://transferwise.com next time.

Im shocked people are endorsing these 3rd party payment systems WHEN WE HAVE BITCOIN. Just buy some BTC and send it, fast, no fee.

It is not as simple as that.  In the UK, it's hard to get bitcoins without trading privately through localbitcoins.org. The prices are typically very high. Demand outstrips supply significantly.

You are?

Because If I pay with my VISA and they don't ship. I can't get my money back. And they are scared of this and it drive's them to provide...

If I send Bitcoins along with everyone else. we have NO way to them back. And they know that, so if they are late, why do they give a damn? they already have our money. We can bitch and complain all we want. They have our money.

Not only is it a security thing. It pressure's them to be open. If they are going to be late and they are scared of claw backs they will be open with us, tell us. post up.

Again with BTc why would they?

If they are big enough that the pre-orders are just pre-orders and they can front the assembly them selves. use an escrow..

Great.  See if you can find my FlappySocks picture in the factory.  BlackArrow labeled all my previous FPGAs, and might have kept a few for the ASICs.   Grin
