I'm considering buying a couple of x-1s and I'm really excited because the performance estimates look great.  However, as I was conducting some research I noticed an uncomfortably large discrepancy between the value posted on the website (100 GH/s) and a lot of other sources which put the performance at only 64 GH/s.  Which one is correct?  It's really important to know.

Thanks.

I think the original posts were 64GB and they up'd the spec to 100GB.  Notes say that it may overclock to 128GB.  Keep in mind that deliveries START 2014.02.24 and difficulty will likely be 1.5 billion+ with the new 2TH boxes rolling out in Dec/Jan/Feb.

Disclaimer: I have X-1s on order knowing the above.

it's very slow maybe it's under a DDOS attack?

No; CS-CART v4.0.2 is buggy. We've contacted support and it appears that it was a race condition that needed to be fixed. Hopefully it is fixed now.

Yes, BlackArrow support staffs are real.

We discussed about the Bitfury ASIC chip pricing/production issues (they told me that we should not pay more than $8-10/chip as it costs them $3-5/chip - see my other post in other thread here), future Minion ASIC chips/X-3 miners, etc.

BlackArrow has been around for a while. They did FPGA devices prior to this. Never heard any horror stories about 'em, and they seem quite responsive to both customers and shoppers.

Dr you think this is a worthwhile investment by the time these actually ship in February? Difficulty predicted at 2 billion.

If bitcoins continue going up more and more people will buy crazier and crazier price rigs, losing massive amounts of bitcoin profits in pursuit of far far lower and ultimately probably imaginary fiat profits, driving difficulty way beyond what you seem to be imagining. Two billion was likely predicted based not only on a long gone by low price of bitcoins relative to even today's price, and maybe also on a failure to fully appreciate how irrational the "I don't care how much profit I miss by not holding bitcoins, I want to burn lots of electricity lowering my potential profit massively by pursuing fiat at cost of massive losses on the botcoin side" folk can be...

Especially if bitcoin is up over $1000 by february...

That's anyone's guess.  Every investment carries risk.

Personally I ordered an X3 shortly after they became available for purchase, but try not to let my decision sway you.

I have some Black Arrow Lancelots to trade-in, which helped to make it a better deal for me.

I have Lancelots too but it seemed better to just keep mining with them longer to see how things go as I was not sure how soon they might want me to turn them off and send them in, leaving me without them until february...

...Plus I'd still have had to pay 2/3 of the price out of pocket, so I want my miners of various kinds to fill my pockets some more before going for it.

We don't request Lancelots to be sent back right now. We will ask this 1-2 weeks before the shipping date.

Oh good! Bitcoin will have to be exchanging at a very high price for the lancelots to still be paying their electricity bill by then, it seems likely.

I expect I will be buying, I just have to come up with the portion of the price that won't be covered by the Lancelot trade-in; I'll want to trade in all my Lancelots and get whatever product costs enough for that many Lancelots to all be used as trade-in against so I have some accumulating of pocket-money to do before I order.

Oh and to the poster who kept asking if Blackarrow is for real, one supposedly cannot base future expections on past performance in investing but for whatever it is worth some of us have nice FPGA units known as Lancelots that we got from Blackarrow that have been serving us well for many months. So they have for sure delivered good products in the past. Oh and I bought in as they were jsut getting rid of the last of the Lancelots to anyone who still wanted one despite the difficulty bitcoin had risen to. Other people have had them much longer. They've been making mining hardware quite a while.

Though I cannot recommend the power bricks that were supposed to power four Lancelots, for me I never did get four to work on one brick, and one of the bricks seemed only able to handle two, at least some of the time. Maybe household power here is lower than they expect to be fed or something but for whatever reason buying one per four Lancelots left me needing to use an old leftover power supply from a scrapped PC to power a bunch of them and thinking if I had known that in advance I'd've used more such PC power supplies I have a pile of instead of ordering the pretty power-brick things.
