BA has not levelled with us.  They have put an NDA against their own customers.  Whether they paid verisilicon is pointless.  The chips will be late and non-competitive.  I have lost trust in BA.  They knew batch 1 would be late and continued to sell batch 2.  Very poor conduct.

Thanks for your opinion.

I think the chips will arrive around 2 months delayed but that is to be expected with preorders.

If you didn't see the possibility of delays your magic crystal ball may be defective.

So there has been no revision to the 25% for 4 months offer?

Not at this time. Our meetings were more preliminary than anything, we will have more in the next few days.

And what about refunds Huh

No official statement from me about this Sad

Do you have any idea when you might be able to say something officially about refund options?  I mean at this point a customer has to assume that a refund is not possible.  So your OK with holding peoples monies indefinitely?  Why should anyone believe they will make the new deadline, the old one was rock solid, lots of room built in for error, then they held the info of the delay to themselves longer than they should have.  What exactly has this company done that is public facing to provide any confidence that something like this won't happen again.

Do you care to comment on the fact that according to the FTC as an American based company Miner Source is required to refund a customer if they wish to cancel their order before you ship no matter what your ToS says.

No, I wont comment on such matters in public, if you would like to bring up a specific problem or request with an order, please email either Black Arrow support, or Miner source support.

I actually tried to do this but I have not had a response from MS  Cry.

So, is cancelling and getting a refund from Minersource at all possible?

Not sure, but I did notice this question asked already, only to be completely ignored.  I also sent an email to miner source asking that exact question and have not heard back as of yet.  I have 4 X-1's on order and would like to cancel and get a refund as this delay is pretty extreme and by my calcs it makes break even a pipe dream at best.

I appreciate it.

I have arrived back in denver, I will get some quick things out quick, then going to pass out.

Communication:
BA and the re sellers are putting together a new system of communication, to aid in the internal communication, and the communication with our customers and the community. We are looking at a bevy of options, including some sort of newsletter, to official twitter. Please let us know if you have any suggestions.

Customer Service:
I have completed highering of additional guys here at minersource, and they are working through training now. Expect better response times, and phone hours in the future. BA has also hired many additional staff and should see an improvement as well.

Tape out/Verisilicon/Chips
Besides what is covered under NDA (I know I know... but a NDA is a NDA), I can assure you I have seen the full contracts with BA and Verisilicon, and that BA has paid them in full. The other re sellers can confirm this. Based on all the info I have, the May 1 day is quite firm. No guarantees as you guys know by now, but thats the best I can do.

Status of other Parts:
The PCBs pretty much designed (waiting for those final pin specs as said before), the heatsinks are done, the custom 1400w psus are done, the controller and its software are in their final phases. I will get additional info and pictures on this as soon as I can.

We will also have a much greater presence at trade shows, we will publish a list as soon as we sign up for them. We will at least be at Quakecon 2014.

EDIT2:
I have some pics from the trip... nothing really important or relevant, but id be happy to post them if anyone wants.

Are you serious? After all this endless teasing and teasing and teasing about "announcement", one would definitely expect something bit more substantial.

Dude, wrong thread!

Speaking of planes  Roll Eyes... Hey, Matt, somebody asked me to ask you if it was flight BA19 you took from the UK to Denver. I'm pretty sure what s/he, now I, is eluding to, so if we could put this stupid issue to rest, that'll be great. Unless, of course, you have an NDA agreement with British Airways...  Grin (couldn't resist on that one, bud)

Let me check my ticket.
I booked it thru AA so I have to do the codeshare thingy

Edit:
Nope not that flight, I think that was the one that left LHR at 1130 right?

I have no idea unless I hunt down some site via Google to see what were flight schedules, not even sure if past flights would be in the mix. The only thing that comes to mind for s/he asking is to correspond flights to your flight checking if one even existed. The following is the exact question that wanted to be asked (cut and paste in its entity):

..acks MC if it was BA19 to denver he took???

I'd prefer to keep it private (don't need planes talkers lol) but I pmed it to you

Well, I finally got an e-mail from Minersource about a refund, this is what it said:

"Unfortunately due to the old site being down, refunds will be delayed until the database has been imported."

I was one of the poor saps who ordered prior to the website change at Minersource and now my order is in the archived website but does not exist in the current website. That, in and of itself, made me suspicious.

When I first paid back at the end of November, I was about 50% sure I was being conned. Now I'm 99.9% sure I have been conned because "importing the database" has no relevance to giving me my bitcoin back and cancelling my order, it's just another deflection to add to the multiple deflections that are being posted on here.

I'm just thankful it was only 0.344 bitcoin, I can't imagine having spent the kinds of funds other people have on this. And I accepted the risk when I sent the bitcoin, so I'm actually not complaining, it is what it is unfortunately. I've been scammed and there's not a damn thing I can do about it. LOL

So my personal position on this is:

1. I won't ever get my bitcoin back and
2. There is a 0.1% chance (probably less) that an X-1 is delivered to my door in May or ever...

I'm no longer crossing my fingers either, so I am finally able to type. I will continue to monitor this thread though, at least there is some entertainment value.

Cheers.

Ohh well, all this hyped about news from BA has certainly been a letdown.

Nothing new, no dates no roadmap...
Same old "we're hiring new people" that I've been hearing since late November...
Not even sure what to think.
If "PCBs pretty much designed" then it really shouldn't take 2 month from tape-out to a finished product. (not 100% sure on this, but basing it on other manufacturer releases)

What seems very strange to me is that the news we get is from a reseller, we've yet to hear any official news from BA, why is that?
I never in my life seen a reseller releasing news before or instead of manufacturer.

Wow, that's an unexpected change (yes I did read the whole lot). I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong or can be (dis)trusted....I can almost only conclude you must have spotted something in whatever has been driving your quest that makes you doubt your previous statements (maybe only ever so slightly). Interesting...

After reading posts and PMs by bitcoiners I admire and/or trust with their opinions, it somewhat place enough doubt in my stance pertaining to Matt Carson, that I felt it prudent to chill a bit. Overall, it still doesn't feel right, and I will continue to monitor the situation as future events unfold.

I appreciate it.

I can confirm this.  I was at the same meeting.  It was all very positive, i'm really excited about this product.  Anyone can contact Verisilicon and ask for confirmation that they are in partnership with BA.

Hell, if anyone wants to buy my X-1 pre-order, I'll sell it for what I paid 0.344 BTC. We can test that greater fool theory! LOL

But honestly, if someone out there actually wants to risk it, I'll sell it. PM me, I won't try to talk you out of it!  Cheesy

EDIT: I am supposed to be in Batch 1, if that matters.

I've not heard anything officially on refunds yet. In all honesty, I'd wait on asking for a refund till we figure out our best possible compensation package. I'm going to keep pressing that issue with my higher ups.

They didn't even tell you they missed the tapeout deadline. What kind of compensation package can you get? We are about to lose a significant amount of bitcoins no matter what happens next. Unless the chip manufacturing is reversed, this thing is fubar. It will not be competitive versus AM's chips and probably KnC's as well. On top of that it will be TWO MONTHS late.

Hey, Matt. I just found this seller on eBay claiming to be a reseller of Black Arrow bitcoin miners: rivalnetworksptyltd

Quote
Rival Networks PTY LTD / BitMiners is the exclusive reseller for Prospero BitCoin Equipment

Look forward to you confirming the above to make sure he's legit and, if he is, was he also at the Black Arrow reseller meetup there in the UK?

Thanks, bud.

Can't comment on the e-bay account, but Rival Networks are BA's Australian reseller.  No they were not at the meeting.

HAHA 30 GH/s for 1499 for a year!  Thats crazy!  Also funny that under their description it says "Start Mining Now!" and yet this is for a contract that starts in March.  Hilarious

No kidding, I bought 300GH/s mining for $1200 with KnC Neptune miner. 10% upkeep 2...
