Both two coins are good and potential but I prefer Litecoin. Currently the number three spot on the list of cryptos accoridng to total market cap is Ripple (XRP), but Litecoin as I am sure we are all aware has seen a massive surge in popularity.

Both Ripple and Litecoin has been doing greatly in the market of late with litecoin even outperforming other digital currencies at some point.

between the two, which one would you invest in and why?
I prefer litecoin because I think litecoin has good potential in the future because I see more and more people are using litecoin as their transaction fee, if it can continue like that I am sure litecoin price will continue to rise

I would say ripple although litecoin is also as stable as ripple in the crypto market. But ripple has a great platform that has a lot ICOs based in it. Yet they are both in the top altcoins in the crypto currency world.

Yes, you will definitely choose litecoin in the ripple. Litecoin has a very decisive position in the Bitcoin ecosystem and tends to increase along with Bitcoin. Ripples are a way for banks and companies to devour fans of blockchain, complete and decentralized and premature. 85% of the ripple is already mined and if you support it again gives control back to the centralized authority.

they both are the top altcoin and potentially in terms of profit, but I think ripples are better, because now ripples are running some progress to improve their network. I'm more interested in other altcoins like altcoin that just escaped from ico, usually cheap and can generate profits in the next few months.

I prefer Ripple (XRP), the are making alot of move toward payment industry. Also, they are doing their best to make ripple a full decentralize. There are alot of FUD but to be fair enough every negative concept they throw to XRP has a meaningful explanation from the team. They will explain it nicely and only based on a fact.

Why don't you invest in both of them? They are both profitable and have bright future. In addition, they are quite different, so you can diversify your portfolio. Litecoin is the open-source blockchain based cryptocurrency, while Ripple can be defined as a distributed open source payment network, which has revolutionized financial institutions and the monetary transactions through the blockchain technology.

That is basically comparing apples to oranges, in terms of ideology and technology. Ripple is like the traditional banking system but including public key cryptography and a blockchain. Litecoin is based on the idea of being your own bank, it is decentralized instead so there is no central agency that controls the distribution like Ripple does. This being a Bitcoin forum means that I do not like the central banking system and came for a decentralized alternative and thus will tell you that Litecoin is a much better choice, but it is still my opinion.

Personally i would chose Litecoin because it is more stable and now it's growing pretty good, as for Ripple it is a good coin but it's pretty unstable, as for me stability is more important than sudden growth and possible big decrease which may bring more looses than profit. But you should know, it's not like you can invest only in single coin, if you want to you can invest both and get some nice profit if you're careful enough with Ripple.

In my view, Ripple is more potential than Litecoin in the future. Ripple allows transaction in any currency and takes only 3.6 seconds to complete the entire transactions on the Ripple network. And according to the financial experts, Ripple is expected to reach beyond $1.960 in 2018.

So it's almost been 3 months since the topic started, I think litecoin is leading and ripple is behind litecoin, I recently just checked the charts and as of now litecoin is not totally leading the race but litecoin is indeed in front of ripple based on the price analysis. Ripple has potential to grow with its great and adequate technology they use in making transactions, samd as with litecoin the potential is great but I can see that ripple will win in the course of time, again in the winning stage it is just my wild prediction, here is the link on the price analysis of MAY 2018.

If you have a lot of money in your wallet you can invest your money to litecoin and ripple. Litecoin possible become $1000 while the ripple become $100 but it's not 100 sure happen. Because for sure once the price increase it will continue.

Will the introduction of new "coins" cause the use of litecoin and similar products to become  obsolete?
