i vote for crypto trade. colored coins are an unproven concept with a tool that hasn't even been proven to work and is in development. i would not like to handle money with such a tool.

Personally I'd rather direct shares than coloured coins - too new, too untested.
+1 If we are going with CC, regard this: Person X buys shares for 100 BTC, but due to some yet unknown bug in the shiny new CC system the coins are lost. Who is the support? Will the user get his coins back, or replenished by the issuer? As a developer myself I do not feel to comfortable with being beta tester with real coins and shares. I agree. Lets have some other companie s beta test this. We should do Crypto Trade and further down the line when Ken has the resources, if CC proves to be reliable then we can consider the switch. No reason to be innovative with our shares.

It sounds like everyone has a personal choice in either CC or CT, no sense arguing about what the company should offer us... If it will be possible to send colored coins to exchanges in the future, I would be leaning towards CC
Ken, would it be possible to have shares split between the two?

We will not transfer the shares to colored coins until it is proven. There will be a beta on the Bitcoin testnet.

I had not thought about that. I will give that some thought.

Another vote for colored coins here. I am fine with waiting an extra month or even two if it means we can get colored coins working and tested.

When the BTC prices jumps/crashes I hope people stand by their decision. (I am not saying you are not). But I have seen quite a few people complain when shares were offline while the price of BTC skyrocketed.

Someone should complain the in the meantime that it's staying pretty stable and we don't have shares.

Weekly Update 1/15/2013
Here in San Jose working with our partners to move our projects down the line. The RTL problem has been solved and I will be releasing more information about this over the next month. I will also over the next month be releasing the timeline on our chips as the information becomes available to us.
Kenneth E. Slaughter, CEO/CTO Active Mining Corporation Virtual Mining Corporation
Another update stating you will update your updates on the next update. And people think this is exciting? The only piece of actual news is that the RTL still wasnt done. Thats pretty much step 1 in asic development and there is no reason this couldnt have been done 6 months ago. Development started when, back in May? For those curious how this impacts timing, let me quote Ken from 10 months ago: VMC is in talks with a Major Semiconductor Company which can deliver prototype/Low Volume chips to VMC in a 5-10 week time frame after the RTL code for the ASIC chip is ported to their chip and the timing on the chip has been closed.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=158806.0No, I have no idea what the last part of that Kentalk sentence means either, but it does seem we are looking at least at 5-10 weeks for a handful of expensive ebeam samples. For single mask fabrication you can probably add ~2 months to that. And thats just for the chips. Remember, HF has had chips for 6 weeks now.

What I'm going to assume, is that Ken can't badmouth eASIC or we'll be "proper fucked" and needs to work with them cordially to make sure our investment isn't just tossed to the lawyers.
As a consequence I'm going to assume that eASIC has fumbled the ball with 28nm, BUT that they did at least warn Ken of this delay and he leveraged the time to make the design more efficient. I'm also assuming that it's some clever method of pipelining and scheduling work such that one engine does not sit idle for even a clock tick waiting for other engines to finish as I believe happens in other designs.
All in all, with that and the news that the PCB team was useless, leads one to think that we've had a bit of a crap-tsunami, but seems like Ken is up on the board and surfing it.
Ken thusly retains my confidence, though of course we'd all like to micromanage the hell out of the poor bugger.

Or the RTL was never viable from the start. We don't even know who has been doing the RTL because it sure as hell isn't one of the Slaughters.
