I would prefer to invest in BTC. It is for sure not scammy investment that you may get in if you invest in some ICO's. Especially if you did not analysed enough. So BTC for sure!

investing in BTC has considerable clarity. whereas if we will participate in ICO then we need to have a lot of consideration to know the future of the project, so that the funds we invest are not wasted.
so participating in ICO has a greater risk than we directly buy Bitcoin

Investing in ICO is actually the best stage to invest in cryptocurrency, but as it is now that there are lots of ICOs with no potentials, it is quite difficult to invest in the now ICOs, but getting an ICO with lots of potentials and investing in it, will be more profitable than holding BTC.

With the current market situation, investing in bitcoin may not be a decision you make in a rush. inesting in ICO is more rational. as a newbie, take your time to research and become familiar with the cryptocurrency ecosystem. buy btc. and buy coins from market that you think to take from ico with your btc. you will gain at least %50. most of coins drop 50 of his ico value after they come to market because of its airdrops and bounties. |

Absolutely there is high risk in investing ICO than of buying btc directly. And most like that people are losing their investment if a certain ICO get scam, we know is just a horror and it already happen now. That's why, if we are planning to invest in ICO we should have to spend time reading the entire details about the project and never put all the money in a single investment. |

I think reassessment on the conditions in the market should be reconsidered before investing or buying anything foremost. Currently prices aren’t that cheap if you want to purchase altcoins and bitcoins. Diversifying your intended investment would suit you best. Investing in ICOs is a a very good long term investment as long as it’s a solid and promising one, eliminating or lessening your chances of scams and increasing good chances to profit and be part of something innovating. Buying btc however requires careful price assessment, though buying btc below $10k might still fetch you a nice and happy profit if it spikes up in the coming months to come. |

Overal both are a lucrative investment, buying BTC and investing in ICO also requires good analysis so we have to spend some time making decisions. My reason is if you invest In ICO then your time will not be wasted to monitor the Cryptocurrency market.
While if you are trading is certain your time will be exhausted to monitor the development of prices in the market Cryptocurrency.
But there is an important note that looks for a quality ICO project and has a good concept and able to develop well, then you will also get a big advantage of the investment.

I think ICO is more profitable when you purchased at early stage but choose the rigth platform must read its detailed whitepaper and understand it must have a working product in the ecosystem to sustain the price if the project is in demand in a purpose simply it hits bigtime when time comes! in the other side if you have a huge capital why not buy bitcoin during its dip and HODL it thats simple and when the price soar youll be rewarded but always consider the risk associated in crypto Investment so you must aware in it anytime. |

You must know that invest in BTC are need more patience and need long time for you to get profit. But that guarantee that it isn't SCAM and even the price drop, it will recover back again. Second, invest in ICO it's best way to earn bigger profit in short time. But, many ICO right now are SCAM and that's not guarantee that the project will be success. In fact many ICO right now are failed and just became shitcoin.

In my opinion you should buy BTC. By looking at the current situation of the market. ICO sector is not doing very well. Right now I have 7 alt coins/tokens which are just trying to get their ICO price. All of them are 100% down as compared to ICO price. There are/will be only very few ICOs that will give you huge benefit. Buy BTC and relax you will definitely get benefit. |
