Yes it is. Bitcoin is the best investment if hold for long term because the worth of your portfolio will not remain the same but will tend to rise or fall at times. The fall is actually the worst time of the business which you can deal with by holding. The more you hold the more chances not to loose and to earn. All the Bitcoin billionaires are those who held for long. Just look at the Twin brothers who sued Mark.

Bitcoin is a good one for long term, but it's not the best one most probably. Ethereum looks much better for me to hold in long term. The profit rate would be much bigger in ethereum compared with bitcoin's possible long term profits.

Well it's possible. Since bigger companies prefer the ethereum platform and it's smart contracts, perhaps eth is going to be more profitable. But i wouldn't take btc's potential for long term growth aside. Personally, if it comes down to these two, i'd still place my money with bitcoin.

I have been in the market for awhile, and always hear the same mantra about trading to hold more Bitcoin and not Fiat.  I bought into the same mentality for a long time, but I'm changing my tune.  In almost every industry, first generation leaders are replaced by competition.  From Sears, Kmart, Nokia, Motorola, Yahoo, MySpace, etc.  Although Bitcoin is the current crypto reserve currency, I think that its dominance is threatened by ALT coins with faster, cheaper transactions and greater scalability.  What do you think?  Is it smart to hold Bitcoin as a long-term investment, or are there better choices among the ALT coins like Ethereum or Litecoin?

Rather than any coins, bitcoin is tge best coin to hold for a long term investment. We have seen it's improvement in time and we shouldn't doubt anything about it since the evidences are visible and we are the living proof of it. It has the highest value and it could rise more.

Other coins are good too but everywhere there is one solid thing that makes the difference. Bitcoin is one of them among all other altcoins in crypto world. But altcoins aren’t that much suitable for holding. Reason is simple, they don’t rehabilitate so shortly and quickly as bitcoins after some dip. While bitcoins have record of getting out of any sort of dip so easily and shortly.

There are a lot of other crypto coins out there in the market and people use the other coins as well besides the Bitcoin because they want to spread their portfolio around in many things which is the main part of business. Bitcoin is the most long term investment in the market if you take it for a long term and if you sell it immediately then you will get nothing and you investment will demolish.

As long as I do not hold a long position, set a goal in the short term, they will become meaningless if you hold them for a long time. You see recent BTC price can not rise more than $ 10000. It shows that the market is falling down. If we continue to hold the BTC price will decrease.

Yes bitcoin is realy a good investments in long term trading because of he’s price is too high already and if you are holding a small amount of bitcoin only your just losing you time to short trade. Unless you have millions to invest then you can earn in day trading with one swing trade.

There are a lot of other coins out there that are also great in long term investment like ethereum for example because they are showing pretty good in the increase decrease thing plus the fact that they are low in price compared to bitcoins so your money can rise much more than bitcoins if they will rise as far as bitcoins can go. Because the bitcoins is just giving you the assurance, they are the most successful coin which means they are trusted and expexted to rise as time goes by.

I think we all have different points of views when it comes to what we thing are best for long term hodl and most of these reasons are based on our different experiences. Like in my experience I had gained a lot of profits just by holding bitcoin alone, and I did try to hodl Ethereum which I think is next to bitcoin but the gains are lesser compared to bitcoin; that is based on my experience.
