Quitting smoking is one of the most challenging things that people who smoke are about to face. Smoke addiction can definitely affect our health and body so we must know when and how to quit it. In order for smokers to quit smoking, they should have self discipline and be ready to take the challenge of changing their lives for the better.

It should be taken care of seriously. Quitting smoking is not that easy when you are just going to challenge your self for good, there should always be a reason for it, I was a smoker before and I know how it feels to quit and you are unease when you remember that "hey I was a smoker yesterday" or " Oh, it's break time, it's time to smoke".

I remember I use those menthol inhalers as a substitute, it's effective.  Smiley

there're lots of opinions on that over there
u could just do it abruptly, u could do it gradually, u could read some smartbooks or consult a specialist, or,, you can never start smoking at all
i'd say, try everything  so maybe it'll take some time to figure out what u need exactly

To stop smoking is really hard to do.  Most specially when you know that you are addicted on it.  Vices like smoking is one of the hardest to control,  but then,  it is still possible. 
First make it as you self discipline.  Don't push yourself too much to stop it,  just do it slowly.  Until you make it easy for you to skip in smoking once in a while.  Make your self more busy in other thing where you can avoid smoking. 
In time,  not that fast,  but if your really determined, you can stop it totally.

I don't smoke myselft but lots of friends stop smoking around me, some for several months before smoking again and some for years now.
hypnosis seems efficient. I've heard about a very famous book, I can't remember the name, but two friends read it and stop smoking for several months, it has been written by a famous us doctor I think

Just try to smoke less. It should help. If you are going to smoke less at one point you'll come to the thought "why do I need it"!

Stopping to the things that you always do is hard because its become habit but if you really want to stop just focus and think to the person, or the reason why you need to stop that habit. Like in smoking, when I was young I smoked but I stop! I stop because I realized that smoking is bad to myself and its bad to the health of the people that I love. I push myself not to use cigarette because I considered the people who love me.

I'm a 10 Year smoker.
E-cig helped me quit smoking "real" cigs. Well i did stop but only for 5 months ... I guess my mind is weak :p.

I quit smoking in 2011 after reading Allen Carr's book "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking". I haven't had a single cigarette in 7 years and quitting was easy and painless. Moreover, it gives you the feeling that you can do anything with your life, gives you strength and raises self esteem. But there's a thing about it: I recommended this book to all of my smoking friends and relatives but not one of them managed to quit.
I think every person has to find the solution that suits them personally. I myself went through a lot of different techniques unsuccessfully before I found that book. And every time I failed I felt like sh!t. But after a while I tried again and again. My advise to those who want to quit - never give up even if you failed, try again, challenge yourself and grow your confidence.

there is no easy way on this if you are smoking for years, but once you quit, you have to wait for a few weeks to get over the physical need of smoking, then replace the smoking habit with something to get passes the psychological aspect. That's it, just make sure you don't start eating a lot because you'll get fat and will also start smoking again after a while because you'll blame this on quitting smoking)

how to stop smoking?

totaly im not a smoker, but my father did, they smoke 6 to 10 sticks everyday, once you have decided to stop smoking,you ready to set a quit date and when to stop smoke.

1.minimize your cigarettes stick everyday instead of 6 sticks everyday you make it 3 or 4 sticks.

2.a menthol candy use for alternating for your cigarettes, instead of 3 or 4 sticks you make it 2 or 3 sticks then includes the candy.

3.no more cigarettes, take a candy only until you can stop cigarettes and that's Father did so no more cigarettes at all.

Some members of my fraternity have literally used a book called "How to stop smoking cold turkey" and they legit stopped after reading the first 3 chapters. I don't know what the contents are in this book or what it says but they told me it made them want to stop smoking and they did.

1. Fully stoping to smoke
2. Gradually reducing

But it backfired every time. How did you stop?



My friend, you need to understand the psychology of all addiction and that is "dependence to a neuro-chemical for homeostasis"  in this case that neurochemical is nicotine, and if you have been smoking for as little as three months, trying to quiet with just willpower might be more than what you need.

Your brain is now dependent on that "feel-good" neurochemical, nicotine, which helps it regain balance when ever you are out of balance, either through stress. This is because the human brain is built to help us SURVIVE NOT MAKE US HAPPY.
so my advise to you is, if you cant get a therapist, then go study about the neuro-science of addiction and get materials from those experts who understands this psychologically.

In my experience and observation with any form of addiction, whether it's porn or dope, LIFE STYLE CHANGE NOT WILLPOWER IS THE PREMISE OF CHANGING ANY ADDICTIVE BEHAVIOR.

many people  use segarates they  can't  easily  stop smoking..but if you choose to live life longer, quit smoking. smoking is dangerous to your health. pretty sure it’s not an easy task but with the courage to be able to quit smoking, you will be able to quit from it. without courage, everything will always be a plan. a plan without action.
