Sad that ICOs are caving like this, but what choice do they have with big brother government hanging over their shoulders watching every step. But for me god no, that would be an abysmal thing to do and I simply refuse.

Yes, and for me this step is one of the signs that this project is serious about its investors and its product.

I don't know but when a project requires KYC it seems legit for me. The reasons why ICO ask for KYC for every investor is because it is requirement for them on their license. BTW, have anyone of you guys tried menlo.one? They plan to automatically enroll your any ICO you are following.

It seems we can no longer run away from that. At first, you'll just put in your money and wait for the project to end, but currently the regulations are becoming numerous and tighter and so we just have to abide by that. I think the best thing is for all projects to link to common KYC authenticating source so that we don't spread our personal info anyhow on the internet.

I think that KYC in the ICO is necessary. In addition, often in good quality projects ICO is inherent, so in a sense it is an indicator of quality.

The KYC process has become almost mandatory in most of the ICOs and so it is no longer an option but a requirement to be met by investors who wish to participate in a token sale.

I have repeatedly participated in projects that required the passage of the KYC procedure, including participation in ICO and in bounty campaigns. Unfortunately, several projects turned out to be fraud and now I'm worried because my personal data now in the hands of scammers!  Embarrassed

Sometimes about the obligatory passage of the KYC, you learn at the end of the company ,respectively ,forced to pass to get coins.

In my opinion, the KYC system has a positive and negative view. By using KYC system hence the element of fraud done by participant have slightly decreased, meaning the seriousness of participation have been seen by sending personal data. But the negative is he KYC system by requesting personal data has a great chance to be used as an element of violence.

Ico needs KYC, probably based on local laws!
The main purpose of KYC is to prevent money laundering or some other illegal activities!
Regulated ico, easier to protect the interests of investors!

Obviously, coin distribution will be wide and more serious investors can get in. Still have not forgotten about BAT ICO, in 4 seconds everything was sold to few whales. KYC and whitelisting eliminates this possibility.

If the project is good and the bounty is a little solid then for sure I'm gonna join a bounty that requieres KYC. We will adapt to this no matter what , but KYC is not necesary for bounties in my opinion.

I have joined bounties where at the time of joining, no KYC was required or even talked about. But only towards the end of it, was a KYC needed. I don't think this is fair especially if those who took part may not be able to join - ie China and /or USA.

If it is upfront, then it depends on what the project is and who is behind it and who the bounty manager is.

Definitely not! The concept of KYC is incompatible with the notion of anonymity and decentralization

I don't plan on giving such a personal information on the internet. Especially when it comes to earning cryptocurrency. Because, we all know that scammers are lurking on the internet. We do not know if the information that we have given are safe in their hands.

As long as I  think the ICO project would it be possible for me to have a profit, then I will choose to participate in the ICO project investment, even if it requires KYC information, though I know most of the KYC information may be liable to leak

Actually im always choosing ICO without KYC. however, some ICO are  only announcing that they require KYC after the campaign. So i have no choice but to fill up their KYC claim my rewards. I hope ICO must announce the KYC the moment they started.

I think almost every ICO now requires KYC verification and I really do not like this. It has lost the anonymity of digital money. Besides, it annoys me with too many verification steps and filling information. It is gradually losing its inherent nature

Normally I skip the ICOs which requires me to do KYC. I don't have much issues in paying the taxes, but here in India the tax authorities are harassing anyone whom they suspect is dealing in Bitcoin. It doesn't really matter whether you are paying your taxes honestly or not.
