we shouldn't create more momentum unless the client is working stable.
you will produce frustation at the users. the client is not ready for this now.
just now my box is freezing agin. -> catching up...
have to restart the client again. you can't give this none stakeholders now.

btw, you have already see that some users doesn't understand the brainwallet.
there must be an explanation at the login form to prevent confusion.

this leads me into another question, how can we prevent an attacker to flood
the system with random generated accounts?

So as long as 88.192.210.245 shows up on my peer list, I'm good? I only see 12 active connections.

Transaction from my pre-genesis account sends correctly to my new account, but I cannot send from my new account to my old account.

Create a new account with the new password, send Nxt from old to new account.

LOL, I did this and forget new password... Is there any password reset or something?

Why do we need to prevent this? Empty accounts don't add overhead to the system.

Ok, so everyone that is a node on the NXT network is known to be running java with a port forwarded to their computer.  With the massive amount of 0day java vulnerabilities out there this seems like an absolutely horrible idea.  Also why does it need a web server if it is locally run software, why not have a gui?

None of this makes any sense at all. but maybe i am missing something important here.

A giveaway thread giving 100 Nxt per user for 1000 users would also create momentum. Only 1x per BTT account, and the account must have at least 20 posts.
In the Mastercoin Giveaway people should promote the project to get' em - I think we should use it too (but not so strict rules, maybe only a reference in signature etc).
That's the way I am trying to go after, as I explained four or five times in my previous posts in this thread too. I ll apply mastercoin founder approach of giving away (with some minor modifications) to push spreading the word and popularity of Nxt. People will post the link of what they did to advertise Nxt+ an account id. number. I will review new posts every 3 days once and award posters some coins proportionally to the effectiveness of their effort. But I won't be running it for a long time and we need volunteers to continue running it after me (in a week or so).
One guy already volunteered, but more help from you guys will be great for sure!

Legit coins won't be lost. It can jump if u have a service running that adjusts ur time automatically.

thanks for the info CfB, i also appreciate your whole work you are doing currently. this is not self-evident.
the problem i am facing here is the broken pipe i see from time to time. as soon this happens
the client is freezing.

accounts: doesn't reducing this the amount of available accounts by time as well as an lucky hit on a
existing account? a generator could produce massiv an  amount, which we should take into consideration or not?

There is no password reset. It's a decentralized system.

Yes, I have the newest version running. Both transactions were sent from my local via the GUI. First transaction completed, second one nothing happened. It does not show up in unconfirmed. I think a few other people mentioned this problem as well.

If the address is new then the phrase is not the same.

Yes, there is definitely something wrong. Keep trying to send a transaction, I think BCNext is working on that.
