Are you getting those client updates from BCNext?
If yes, why can't he post here?

Read 2nd post in this thread.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Open a terminal. It will start in your home directory....Use the cd command to change directory to your Nxt dir.

So if your Nxt dir is inside Home, type "cd Nxt".

If its outside home you will need to start from root "cd /etc/etc/etc".

Or if its in Downloads you need to "cd /Downloads/Nxt".

Once youre in that dir, type java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt

Thats it...If you have any trouble, let me know.

I suggest creating a batch file:

Quote
start firefox.exe http://localhost:7875/
java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt

Yes that would be the simpler solution Smiley

Why?

Hm... Good question. I believe as a protection against copy-pasters who love to launch cryptoclones. Stakeholders paid real money, they wouldn't be happy if someone launched a clone.

What assurances do I have that it's not a wallet-stealing trojan?

Updated. Now my test account (14571525509972106026) shows instead of 50000 a balance of -2.00. Recent Block count is displayed as -863.

edit: fixed by deleting all *.nxt files

Yesterday someone here told me that when I create (by passsphrase ofcourse) an account I have to wait till ~1000 blocks will be mined and it will take around 1 day.
So 1 day left and I am not sure how many blocks was mined since then. How can I check that and what exactly I have to do to mine?

I think it's 1440 blocks, and all you need to do to mine is to leave your account unlocked and NXT running.

I can't download any blocks after updating to 0.2.7.
Deleted all *.nxt and restarted, but still nothing.
Only 4 peers.

Is you Nxt.zip on your Desktop? If so, right click on the desktop and make a new folder. Call it "nxt" (case sensitive). Put Nxt.zip into this folder.

Now in a new terminal type: cd Desktop/nxt

Now type: java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt

==============

To make a batch file, open a txt editor and type in the code from nnn's post:

Quote
start firefox.exe http://localhost:7875/
java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt

Save the file into your nxt folder. right click on it and go to Properties, then Permissions and tick "allow executing as a program".

then double click it
