There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Just thought I would share some information here regarding the nxtcrypto.org forging pool to help any other members who may have panicked when they went to check their status and/or balance like I just did.

After sifting through all of the Google results when I went to nxtcrypto.org forging pool to check my status and came upon a blank page, here is what I found:

Apparently, the pool forked at some point and it took some time to reach the dev for a resolution. If you had leased your balance to nxtcrypto.org, you are currently still forging (assuming your lease has not expired).

Anyway, to access the pool now, you must navigate to the pools new address by clicking HERE or navigating to this URL: http://198.199.95.15/

The information regarding all of this can be found on the NXT Forum, and you can view the devs last post regarding this issueHERE or visit: https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=1020.msg220321#msg220321 to view the entire nxtcrypto.org Forging Pool Thread.

All of this literally just happened as I am posting this - hope this helps out and saves others from having to sift through a ton of information for the solution!   Wink

What is a practical amount of NXT to forge with for a reasonable chance of success?

If you plan on forging alone/solo, you will literally need MILLIONS of NXT to have any chance of actually forging a block on your own. The most feasible way would be to join a forging pool by leasing your NXT balance to the pool and then receive a proportion of the rewards based on your on the percentage of coins you leased in regards to the total amount held by the pool. Even then, you need a fairly significant amount of NXT for it to be worthwhile, as you will spend at least 1 NXT just to send your lease, and then at least 1 more when you want your rewards sent to your wallet.

Hope that helps..

Not really. With a 100,000 NXT stake you can forge a block every 2 days on average. It is mostly about securing the network at this time, not about profit.

Is there any way to issue a sendMany command with NXT?
is their a Console you can access in the wallet like most other coins to type in commands?

There is no sendMany command functionality as far as I know.

There is an asset dividend distribution plugin that allows to pay all asset holders at once, it's many separate transactions at one click of a button, asset issuer has to pay a fee for each transaction. This is for dividend payouts only. It isn't too difficult to write a script to pick a list of recipients and have it send to all of them with one click, again it'll be separate transactions and a fee for each transaction.

http://localhost:7876/test will open the API console.
API reference:

Examples of code in PHP, Java, Javascript, C, C#, Python, Perl using NXT API:

FYI, newcomers!
Did you know you can mine NXT (and buy Ardor with it on the Nxt Asset Exchange!) in the Lucky node project?
Computational and bandwidth requirements are very low - some users run it on a Raspberry Pi.
Run the node 24/7 or as often as you can while you work or play.
Join in with the over 100 nodes that are already in the project.

I wish all the focus was on ARDOR.
It seems that current market focus is on neither unfortuantely...

Brilliant product imo, but very poor marketing...

Hope the new year will be better for both !

500K. U can quadruple this amount during one month of forging. I mean during 100 years of forging.

People, where do you get it, that Nxt is dead end? It was said many times, that Nxt will be supported by core devs at least for 2 years or more, if there will be demand and projects on it. Stay tuned and you'll see more and more projects coming to Nxt soon.

The '1.10.3' is clickable, and you will have an option to download the upgrade.
Cant put my hands on the howto right now, but releases can be found here.....  https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/

1.10.3 is ok to keep using, more recent releases aren't mandatory.

I'm starting to think it won't lift off
Next month I will start thinking about selling everything
A week after that, the price should go up

btw I like the new interface of NRS as it is, looks cleaner than a year ago for some reason, I see a lot of work has been done. Let me say one thing, keep posting to this thread to keep up with monero. BTCtalk spamming is their ONLY tactic.
